Wow! What a display by England. That was some statement, and Italy just looked totally overwhelmed pretty early on. I actually felt sorry for the Azzurri, conceding 59 points at this level must be soul destroying after playing so well last week.

Mind you, I'm a more than a bit pissed at Ashton's antics. There is no place for that kind of showboating at test match level. It's all funny and smiles until he drops one, and he will at some point, and then Ashton will be the most hated man in England. That said, hearty congrats on being the first man ever to score six tries in a 6N match, and he will surely now take the most tries in any 6N tournament as well.

Congrats to Wales on the win, but I have to say the game overall didn't inspire much confidence that the Welsh side had found their form or will progress too far in this tournament or the World Cup for that matter. If Scotland couldn't even score more than 3 points while Wales were on 13 men, well it kind of says it all as to how badly they played.

Looking forward to this afternoon already, and predict that France will 'do an England' on Ireland.

I have to say the 6N is now looking like a two horse race between England and France, with the remaining four places up for grabs depending on 'who plays the least badly' in the …

Italy winning at Twickenham is about as likely as me having a romantic Valentine's Day date with Avril Lavigne or Ronan O'Gara being humble.

It was a great performance in Rome, no doubt about that. However, I think the most important thing was the 'in Rome' bit...

>Can't say they played particularly well

It's a Welsh genetic thing :)

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

OK, so after the first round matches I will have to revise my predictions for the six nations.

1st and 2nd looks like being England and France
3rd and 4th I'd say is between Italy and Scotland
5th and 6th Wales and Ireland

Yes, I know Ireland won their game against Italy but they were extremely lucky to get the win and looked really ragged IMHO, whereas Italy were actually quite strong.

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Gatland has got to be worried about his position now, that's eight defeats back to back for Wales.

Without taking anything away from England who put in a very strong performance overall (especially Flood and Hartley), Wales seemed to lack cohesion and conviction. In fact, I wonder if they actually truly believe that they can win at the moment.

As Dani says, we have no official policy on closing threads on a date basis. The only rule we have that touches on the old thread issue is "Do not hijack old threads by posting a new question as a reply to an old one" but that does not seem to apply in this case. The general rule of thumb applied by moderators (and adatapost is a moderator of the forum in question by the way) is that a relevant new post to an old thread is acceptable, while something that bumps it for no reason, adds nothing, asks a new question or simply says 'I agree' in order to expose a signature link is not.

I agree with you that there are many ways to skin a deer, or something :) and just because a thread is old does not mean it is dead. Hence there being no rule about it.

I have re-opened the thread in question.

Please accept my apologies if you felt you were being chastised here, I'm sure that was not the intention.

Here's hoping that, whichever side wins, it's a bloody good match.

If only Wales could recapture the form of the seventies, and England that form from 2003. Now that would be a blinder...

Ho yus! Roll on Friday, you Welsh boys are gonna get a good seeing to >:-)

Seriously though, should be a good game. Will be interesting to see if the baiting has got to Hartley. Personally I think that was a mistake, Hartley is the kind of player who doesn't need a lot of winding up and I wouldn't like to be around when he unwinds...

Good thing with Dell is, on the whole, the great support.

My youngest daughter got a reconditioned/open box Dell netbook at a huge discount in August 2010 from a third party website. Its started blue screening last week, contacted Dell who sent a courier to collect it from my home address last Friday afternoon at no charge, and it was returned today (that's within 3 working days) with a new HDD and completely fixed.

Can't complain at that kind of service, especially when you consider it wasn't even purchased from Dell and had probably been a faulty return and repair item to start with, hence the open box status and low price.

Nick: I'm not sure it is fair to suggest Dani doesn't want to change the registration process, rather there are substantial practical problems involved in doing so courtesy of the highly customised nature of the code.

The spam attack we are currently experiencing covers every conceivable kind of spam, including porn of all varieties but equally real estate, seo services, viagra and so on.

It is not some child porn ring that the FBI would be particularly interested in.

Our priority at the moment is in stopping the flood of spam from reaching DaniWeb members, which involves banning hundreds of newly created spam accounts every day. Once we have beaten these idiots, then we can worry about what if anything needs reporting to the authorities.

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

The banned users seem to be staying logged in (probably do not delete cookies between sessions) and the activity points are for modifying signatures and profiles. They cannot, however, post anything.

All these spammers are being banned under our keep it legal rules rather than spam ones (child porn, rape videos, drug sales etc) so are banned for a full six months.

From that we can deduce that your question is 'should I join a knowledge process outsourcing (company) or keep looking for a job' which, to be honest, I am not sure how anyone here can really answer in any meaningful way. If you've searched for jobs in the subjects you are interested in and found none, but have been offered a job in another subject which you think you can handle, then take the job even if it is just until you find something which is better suited to your long term plans. Any work is better than none, all experience looks good on your CV.

The usual:

Being pagan we celebrated Yule on December 21st (and being pagan we did so by getting very drunk)

On December 25th I will do that rarest of things, take a day off work. If I pick up my netbook, or check my email on the iPhone, I have to pay £5 into a family fund for each infraction. Last year the family made £45 out of my indescretions (well, the ones that they spotted anyway)

On December 26th we have the inlaws coming round for dinner, and I'm that unusual breed - a man who loves his mother-in-law to death and thinks of his father-in-law as his dad (my own dad having passed away 13 years ago now)

And that's pretty much it, until my birthday on the 30th December when I will celebrate in true pagan style again :)

Not really the right forum to ask this - I'd suggest asking again in the Web Hosting Deals forum

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

How did you make your donation? If I recall correctly you were asking some time back about sending a donation by post rather than paying online, is that correct? Anyway, I will ask Dani to check her records to see what has happened.

My apologies if my words sounded harsh, they just expressed my frustration at the difficulties you seem to be having despite the help that is being provided.

As I have said before, and will say again: slow down and let us tackle one problem at a time and things should become easier to resolve.

We are all trying to help you, including me! :)

I did donate by the way in November 5, 2010, but nothing has changed. Yet I haven't made a big deal about it, even though I paid over 3 months worth.

I want to thank all of you for your help. I'll be back tomorrow when I'm better rested. Harsh words hurt you know, especially since I admitted that I've never been to a forum and behind with the technologies. I'll be back tomorrow.

I still think the majority here at Dani-Web are awesome, helpful, and nice.:)

You seem to be intent on making a simple process as complex as possible.

In the message composition/reply box just type your response in plain text, with no code tags (including quote tags) attached and that's all that is required.

Your posting above is quite simply a mess. Why have you wrapped your own responses in quote tags for goodness sake?

I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but my head is seriously starting to slowly melt...

Yep, sponsorship increases the capacity of your DaniWeb PM mailbox from 100 to 500 messages - so not to be sniffed at :)

I thought I'd mention the DaniWeb PM mailbox download solution just in case it was that she was talking about, although I suspect you are correct in thinking not...

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Finally, here is my question ***My e-mail In-box is full of Dani-Webs, not the Dani-Web In-box. I'm almost at maximum capacity. Without deleting these Dani-Webs or unsubscribing to them; how do I keep them without going over the maximum capacity?*** I created a special folder for this, but have the same problem.

If you mean your Private Message inbox here at DaniWeb, then scroll to the bottom of the Inbox page and there is an option to download all your messages as XML, CSV or text - after which you can delete them all and have an empty mailbox once more.

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

In that case I suggest you ask your question over in our web design:site layout and usability forum where DaniWeb members with the relevant knowledge should be able to help you.

I won't just move this thread over as it has become a bit bogged down with us all asking what you actually meant, so starting a new thread in the right forum is your best approach in this case.

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

@mbulwa1 can you try that question again please? I appreciate that English might not be your first language, but as it stands your question does not make any sense.

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

I'm really sorry, but I simply do not understand what it is you are trying to ask about here?

Code Tags are used to properly format programming code when you need to post it, and nothing else.

Why you have all that in your signature is, to be honest, a mystery to me.

How do you collapse and expand what, exactly?

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Ask your friend.

DaniWeb cannot help you with this as for all we know you could be trying to hack into someone else's machine...

happygeek 2,411 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster
