There is a add running to my right about my computer having spyware/adware and to click if i want to scan my computer ,the site in Question is on the list or Rouge Spyware tools and sites ,check the Rouge Tools' link in my signature .I don't think this site should have such a link on it !!

Afte you do that run hijackthis again and post new log ,instead of adding log as an attachment just hit the copy and save it to note pad and copy pated it into your post easier to read .Thanks

Actually the CD-RW will not work in other computer either ,I got it to burn 25megs using a older version of CloneCD.but usually its not recocinized as a burner,when it is i get a Power Calabraition Error .CloneCd would not erase a reritabled disk .I took it apart and cleaned the lense with a Q-Tip ,no solution of any kind .I quess its dying !!

Tried that, still no joy.............

Might I suggest Ad-Aware and Spybot .

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware at ADAWARE

Setup Ad-Aware !
After installing AAW, and before running the program, update reference files by using the bottom right button in the program, labeled "Check for Updates."

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the "Scanning" button.
Under Drives & Folders, select "Scan within Archives".
Click "Click here to select Drives + folders" and select your installed hard drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the "Advanced" button.
Under "Log-file detail", select all options.
Click the "Tweaks" button.

Under "Scanning Engine", select the following:
"Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile" and
"Unload recognized processes during scanning."
Under "Cleaning Engine", select the following:
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences.
Please make sure that you activate IN-DEPTH scanning before you proceed

Download SPYBOT

After installing Spybot S&D, update it by using the "Update" button on the left panel of the program. Search for updates and download anything it finds

No a reinstall will not repartition the drive ,you will need to use windows Fdisk or a 3 party software like Partition Magic .

It could be Overheating ,make sure that the back fan in the power supply is running when you bootup,open case and make sure that l fans are not plugged with dirt ,leave the case cove off and try booting again.

I am a little rusty reading logs but i do believe this is reference to the peper trojan .O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [2CY9M3P4Z@@27M] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Yfwz.exe
There is a perper fix tool in the link ,Removal Tools Removal Tools .in my signatue ,I think you need to be connecte to the internet when you run the tool if my memory serves me right !

Reboot computer ,hitting the f8 key and ente safe mode ,and run all the scan program in safe mode .

Ok perhaps I am very confused. Move it to a permanent folder. How do I do this? I read the instructions and they seemed very lengthy and hard to follow. I just saved it to wordpad on my hard drive.

You can't save a program to wordpad,just text documents !!!copy it to permanent folder is refering to the hijackthis.exe program you downloaded ,not the log it creates.

You don't need to double ,a little more info please ,are you saying that when you click the cursor in the text box that something is then typed in ,right in fornt of your eyes ,or are you refering to the auto complete feature of Windows

right click on the .EXE of the game and chose properties and then Compatibilty ,click on the link down the bottom to learn more about Compatibility

Try right clicking on any icons down by the clock and exit them first ,one of them may be causing it ,Also I have seen computers where a mouse or keyboard would do the same thing

You say you reloaded win98 ,was that what was on it before you formated ,if the second drive formated Fat32 also !!

Bear,if you are using winxp like I ,click on the attachment ,then just hold you mouse in the lower right coner until the orange box comes up and click it and expand it will come clear

I have WinXP and this is for XP.and maybe win98 is the same or close to
open outlook and go to tools /options/maintenence,3/4 way down click on StoreFolder it will show the path to the folder that your emails are in .
You can save your favorites and the links will come with it .
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\yourname
and copy the big Gold STAR that is your favorites

If you don't want to work that way just go to control panel /mouse and pointer options and uncheck it .
