hi,first you need to tell us why you can perform the restore ,error messages ece ect

edit , just read your post and think you are saying you can restore from win7 ,assume you mean from within win7 ,if so it doesn't work that way ,you need to put disk in drive and boot to drive and run restore from there

To run SpywareBlaster 4.2 (Free Edition), apparently every time I boot up I have to manually launch it and then click Enable All Protection, right? Even then I don't see it in Windows Task Manager (under either the Applications or Processes tabs), or in the Windows Taskbar Notification Area. What gives?

hi, not how spywareblaster works ,it does not run in real time ,,it adds known bad websites to IE and Firefox's restricted sites[ in the security tab of ie and firefox you will see these sites listed ] so that the browser doesn't redirect ie or firefox to that site.
unless you pay for it you need to manually launch it only to do the updates ,i do mine weekly at best

you could try startup lite and see if it picks it up and you then check of to disable it on startup'

I am getting this same problem with my Dell laptop Vostro 1310; I've tried all the safe mode options to no avail. I'm encouraged that someone had the same problem and solved it, but I need to know what the solution was. I see this post was 2005 and now it's 2010 so I'm assuming the problem did get solved.

wtf is this win7 starter? i bought my girlfriend a new laptop acer aspire one netbook. am2 64 1.6ghz 1gig ram.
anyhow im siting here trying to join it to our home metwork but it said you cant create your own homegroup in this edition of windows. and anything alse you would need to properly set this thing up. this is like selling a car thats been stripped of some of its engine vital engine parts! wtf this makes me mad cause it forces you to upgrade and spend another $100. they did this cause it probly was a realy cheap if not free license from microsoft, why would they do this? well i bet microsoft fegured this was a fast way of geting win7 sold. either way this is wrong, you cant even change themes! wtf is this ?????any ideas how i can fix it? or should i just upgrade it to 7 premium? im thinking og going back to vista.

and its limited to running only 3 app at once ,,has to do with the size and purpose/use of the netbook ,imagin buying a computer with no internal disk drive ,
you would be better served by installing winxp on the netbook,then work really good on xp.not sure if it will even run win7 premium

those appear to be new errors related to booting in safe mode ,are there any errors listed ,that coincide with the day and time of the 2 crashes

I can only go into safe mode.
hi.in safe mode go,start/control panel/administrator tools ,in there go event viewer/system and check for the error message the crash created

right click on mycomputer ,go properties/hardware/device manager ,check to see if cdrom/dvd show in the list ,if they do open the + right click on them and and delete them and reboot computer

are you sure the replacement video adapter is compatible with your mother board,is it a agp card ,what model # on card ,what happened to the original card ,are you sure it was the card that went .
your mother board has on board graphic adapter also i think ,if so hook monitor to it

not sure if that even exist ,but it sounds like the board/ or cpu died.

check board for make and model # ,google it and you should come up with the bios version .or check computers builder side with model if it a dell or Compaq/hp something like that

Problem was erratic in past where laptop booted up after being on power adapter for approx 1hour. Now nothing..

this was when you should have had the laptop looked at by someone in the know!
sounds like maybe the motherboard was acting up ,but could be just something simple .

process of elimination might help ,remove ram one stick at a time ,if you have on-board video try removing the 128video card and using on-board connection ,ect ect ect
