I have a compaq 3200 computer. It takes so long to load. Then it freezes at times. Does anyone have any insight into this problem. Also, what is a tag? Thank you. Roxie148

it could be a overheating problem, or a Trojan,a bad hard drive ,bad ram/video fan the list goes on .

a tag could a lot of thing ,[its the thing on you luggage with your name on it for instance or that annoying kid who no matter what you did ,still tag[ed] behind you .lol] please use it in a sentence

I can tell you what I don't like... That is trying to network a 7 computer with an xp. This homegroup is pretty confusing.

actually i think if you google homegroup and winxp you'll find it doesn't work with xp.
the best way of connecting windows 7 to windows xp is through work group as how we have done to connect xp & vista machine's

i have only one setting , that's to turn off monitor after 10 min, then before i go to bet i turn off computer,done this for yrs

I open my computer, access to a drive then it shows many folders viewed as tile, then I change to list and I click on a folder and click back. It still show view as tile.

My question is: how to control the view as list when I move forward or backward.

hi, first it would have been nice had you told us what version of windows as they are a little different ,but anyway, for winxp, set it to list , go to view ,folder option ,then view and click on apply to folders ,this should make it stay for all folders

ok, wanna tell us the make and model of the keyboard,or just go to there web site for win7 drivers if you haven't all ready

BUT unlike the gentleman above, I would not suggest trying it in XP mode, as virtual machines are generally not up to the task of running a program like that.

the gentlemen above said compatibility mode not xp mode ,2 different things ,and that would be my suggestion to ,just right click on the exe and chose compatibly and chose xp ,you can do this either for install or run of the program

boot to the vista disk and it will do it for you .

I use a power supply tester and it got power in motherboard.

ok so now you have to troubleshoot things like ram,video card and other cards if any, and the cpu /motherboard itself and the only way i know how to do this is by removing them and try booting without or replacing them with a known working one

well i use a power supply tester,also use a regular amp tester ,so you could take it ans take to local repair shop and have them test it .
i have replaced a 100 or so psu that power fans and light but not the cpu

how do you know ,did you sent the info and get no response ,or did you just not send it ,sometime sending error report will send back some info on the problem.

I am trying to install a new program that requires the .net framework 3.5. I currently have .net framework 1.1 installed on my computer and cannot install any other version (2.0, 3.0 or 3.5). I've tried several times to install one of the other .net framework versions, but have had no success. Can anyone help?

comp doesn't need to see cable modem ,its more likely that you need to install drivers for you network adapter

you may not even have any ,but try removing all add in cards

this could be the problem i think,not positive but don't you need two the same cards when using sli.

I bought a used computer on ebay and the text size is too small on my monitor. I tried adjusting the resolution but it doesn't help.
I noticed that the computer is recognizing the old ATI monitor hardware. How do I get it to recognize my monitor? How do I add my monitor to the devices? Or am I asking the wrong questions?

what resolution is it set at .
ati is not the monitor but more likely the video card ,
what text size ,on the desktop or in programs you have open ,or both.
you could go to desktop properties and adjust the text size

go to control panel/ system
or right click on computer in start. and go properties .along the bottom of the screen that comes up click activate, make sure you are connected to the internet ,if no internet you will get option to call Microsoft

the computer froze/crashed you need to find the reaso for that ! like heat/ram, harddisk getting bad ,ect ect
