why put it on the desktop. in Firefox .right click on the very top,make sure bookmark toolbar is check off ,now drag that address bar icon to the bookmark toolbar ,use it from there until you no longer need it ,to delete it just right click on it in the bookmark tool bar and click on delete

maybe Bill didn't realize someday people like yourself would be out buying 17 thousand songs and [that's a lot of money you must be rich,I'm sure a good person like you didn't pirate them ] copying them to 2 different folders and then worry if they lost 1 or 2 of the 17000.
oh,and sync is for copying them to a mp3 device ,and i don't thing it will sync to another hard drive

i have used firefor for yrs now and don't recall ever seeing a WMR icon, must have come with tool bar through Nasa,reinstall it and see

why do we need a high speed ram when we have a good processor?

because then perform 2 different jobs on the computer
the closer they get to the same speed the better computers will work

I started having the same issue with my computer around Thanksgiving the powercord melts at both ends..the base of the power connector going into the computer and ont the other end at the base of the connect from the ac power unit.. computer runs fine but i replaced the ac unit just to have the new one do the same thing on my HP Pavilion

its likely caused by the power jack that is souldered to the laptops motheboard

I haven't removed the modem card.

if you are referring to a dial up modem,remove it ,it could have gotten damaged by the power serge

I have folder 1 on a USB drive 1965 folders containing 17937 files
I have folder 2 on C: this has 1942 folders containing 17662 files

I am in windows XP

How can I check if Folder 1 contains every file of folder 2?

I have Vista on 2 computers and W7 on two.I prefer Vista because I have "never" had a problem with the OS and I like its looks better thanW7.Not everyone hated Vista and not everyone had problems with it.

i agree ,but then i never had vista ,but i do like win7, my wife's laptop has Vista and it has no issues at all.
i think the biggest reason being the laptop was built for Vista,unlike the computers that people who had problems with Vista,my opinion anyway ,i think most who had problems,upgrade from winxp or even 98,or had problems with old hardware and software and blamed it on Vista,Vista or even win7 are best on new computer with new HW and SoftWare

run chkdsk /f ,from the winxp cd ,is doing the same as the way you described by going to harddrive/tools and run the check of the hdd.

might have been cheaper to just format the winxp and do a clean install to speed the puppy up again !

I told that we use another OS for this. to do this install xp copy in same (if space available ) drive or different drive. I successfully did lots of time with my clients.

all you need to do is boot to winxp cd and go to recovery and run chkdsk /f

yeah,if you have a pci sound card from another computer ,with correct drivers it should work

no that shouldn't affect it ,go into bios/setup when booting computer and make sure onboard sound is inabled .
my othere suggestion would be to get a internal pci sound card and add it into computer

usuall the term reboot windows ,simply means to shut off and reboot computer .
what you are looking to do is refered to as "reinstall" windows ,either from a windows install disk or an image created by you on a disk or drive !

We had downloaded the latest driver package from eMachine but windows would not install it

is it possible that its a setup install you downloaded ,did you go into the folder of the oem driver download ans see if there was a setup.exe/application.exe file to click on to install drivers/software

the above is from there web page so on the thank you page you click on have manager ,then the download for the game and the manager doesn't open correct . did you try uninstalling and re-installing the manager again

it got hot for a reason ,putting it on a book was not correct solution ,taking it into a computer repair shop for them to have a look would have been the correct thing to do

i say the ram is good quality, at best the motherboard is a budget board ,and i would suspect it as the problem

After I removed and installed the memory sticks many times, I took it to Best Buy to determine if the stick was bad or the motherboard. It seems the tech reset it and now it works fine.

none i know of ,scan for virus maybe or it may be normal ,startup programs that run each time you start computer and loading the desktop ect ect

iv got a SATA 500GB internal HDD in my PC and when ever i start up my PC it will keep changing the storage size thats free.for example when i finish using my PC i have around 10GB left when i restart it the next day or if the PC crashes,the space left will increase to 30GB how can that be?

depends on what you are doing when you have it on ,a lot of temp files build up and are deleted on a reboot

i don't have a game pad or Mario game but played with a few over the yrs ,and im thinking you need to go into the games setup and chose the game pad from a list somewhere

I understand your curiosity. I wish there was an external RAM. I have a laptop that the RAM is not accessible. I would literally have to take off keyboard and flip over the motherboard. So it would be nice an easy just to plug into the side :)

there is a feature in vista that will use a usb jump drive as a sort of ram but this is very slow. maybe a better way would to use an esata connection to some flash based memory. just a thought

do you mean pci-express ,laptop don't have pci slots
the link you posted show a usb multi adapter ,giving usb to four other devices, like printer cell phone and digital camera ,ect ect but no firewire , not sure its for you

well dear you are incorrect ,post just to show link in your signature you should at least know what you are talking about , if windows is using /installed on the partition it will not format from within windows

also, i did drop my laptop recently and i notice that the cd drive juts out about half a centimeter.

most like broke connection to the motherboard in the drop ,drops are not good!!
