doing sumpthing way over my head ,wow, post is like reading a riddle and trying to solve it .
nice board it sure will support 4 gig ,i think its a wast using xp on such an advanced board , dam shame actually .
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2989
Nothing to do with XP. Everything to do with whether or not one has a 64bit operating system.
If your XP is only 32bit, then 4Gb of RAM will not be recognised. Same goes for Vista.
true, but it shouldn't revert back to only 2gig,unless that's all the motherboard supports ,what is make and model # of your motherboard
i would reload win 7 but cant dlete or format hdd now i can even load windows anymore stays !
hi please be careful of typos than can mean 2 different things [ now i can even load windows] you mean can't ,right
anyway are you using the win7dvd to format and reload ,as you can't format/delete windows from within windows ,as it is being used
hello ,give this a look /try.
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Reasons for this error include a driver that is not present; a binary file that is corrupt; a file I/O problem, or a driver that references an entry point in another binary file that could not be loaded.
Have you installed a 'packet driver' lately??
Possible Solution......go to Start /run/ type in ,regedit.and do the following
There are 2 reg keys that can screw the device......remove them both and reboot......
The keys are:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} - "Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters".
go to there u will find win7 ultimate
you are breaking daniweb rules by posting that site
They all show in tools/plugins/options
i google your problem and some of the post go back to 06 with people having same problem ,read a few and they suggested going back to wmp 10 try it to see if visualization works ,then keep it or reinstall wmp11 and try again
it works on win7
its possibly a dead drive or not connected in the case correctly
non issue ,something wrong with the image not the monitors ,and your attachment is nothing but black
Thanks for your help. Took it back to PC World last night and it was apparently the Num Lk key that was on - bit embarrassing!
yup,thats what im referring to
you would need an adapter from avg to mac connection
like this
http://www.computercablestore.com/6_FT_VGA_to_Mac_Monitor_C_PID394.aspx
2) Is there a simple remedy?
Thanks for any help you can give.
yes ,you have the keypad turned on ,not sure but on mine its thee FN key" bottom row" and f11"top row " to turn it off
not sure ,but check in tools/option and plugins and make sure thy are added
well vista & 7 have an anyoying cut, paste, copy paste message boxes, esp when over writting files, click here tick here, chich here. Well, their is a site about window 8 for starter if you google, in my opinion xp was the best of all time and everybody in the IT kinds of agree with me
yes xp is good and may be the best after sp3 ,but foe me a home user win98se was great ! im sorry i don't get any annoying message box when i cut/copy and paste files to move them ,works same as winxp for me
I have just heard that their is a new versio of windows on the way. i haven't seen some screenshots but i bet will the same as windows 8. I think it a bit stupid, they should just fix the the bugs and service packs for windows 7. I hope they fix the cut, copy, paste stupid time comusming message boxes

hello, and welcome to daniweb, not saying this will work but i's worth a try i think ,i assume you are using internet explorer, open it go to tools/advanced and reset IE settings down the bottom
Oh, and to rule out hardware problems, I booted the system in Ubuntu Linux from CD and visited the same Flash sites that definately caused slowdowns in windows. Everything ran very quickly, no slowdown. In fact, Flash seemed to run far too fast. So whatever it is, its in windows. But What?/QUOTE]
that eliminates all hardware except the harddrive ,may be getting bad

This is very, very strange. I've just checked all the screensaver clocks that didn't work, and they are all behaving correctly now!
I wonder why? Ah,well, such is life!!
sometime a restart of computer once or twice is all it takes to correct some software
This still isnt going well! Ive downloaded UBCD version 4.q for win.exe and have it on a disk.
I cant seem to find what to do with it?
1 - I put the disk in on start up and nothing.
2 - i press F12 change boot to only do CDrom - I only have option to put CDrom as 1 and the following one as 2? I start up PC and it thinks about it. Then comes up with Cannot boot, F1 to re-try, etc...
3 - It takes me to safe mode asnd nothing? what am I missing??
I have downloaded the boot x3 1/ in Zip, 2/ in previous extracted zip and 3/ .exe and nothing.
use the iso download ,it will burn and make the disk bootable
use iso imageburn to burn it if your burning software doesn'r support iso burning
http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
install of XP at the 39 minute left mark whether I insert the XP cd or not. Also can no longer get into SAFE MODE as setup is not finished it says

above is one of the reasons they tell you to backup data before attempting a repair install,
i suggest removing the drive and slaving it in another computer to retrieve data and then try repair install again [make sure cd is clean and no scratches]or format and reload
Hi, this is most important !
4 - I dont have a recovery disk. At this stage I cannot get into the system to fix it?
you are going to be able to little or nothing wit out it or some other form of boot disk like UBDcd

wow ,glad i didn't have the problem you are having when i upgraded to win7,lol just a little tong and cheek ,personally i don't see the problem as i stopped using a screen saver back with win98, i just set it to turn off the monitor , works for me .
i know it doesn't mean much but i skipped vista ,went right to win7 ,and love it, and the new task bar is my favorite option ,and the start menu is great to ,not much different than vista in short i really like Win7,maybe because i got it for FREE from Microsoft, lol
