did you try putting the disk in and see if it would run the repair to fix the problem

the backup fails with the 0x80070002 error :

1) Enable the built-in Administrator account (you can disable it again after backup), this can be done several ways. The two most common ways are:

From elevated cmd prompt type: net user administrator /active:yes

OR
Right-click Computer
select Manage
expand Local Users and Groups on the left by clicking the little arrow
select users
right-click Administrator and select properties
un-check 'account is disabled'
click Apply
click OK

2) Disable the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service , this also can be done several ways. The two most common ways are:

msconfig
click the Start Menu
type msconfig in the "search programs and files" entry box (or from Run dialog box)
select the Services tab at the top of the window
un-check the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service
click Apply
click OK (you may see some warnings or notifications, click OK)
restart the computer

services.msc
click the Start Menu
type services.msc in the "search programs and files" entry box (or from Run dialog box)

I also use MSE, but scan with malwarebytes also, as no one security program finds all

i wouldn't install driver genius on a computer of someone i didn't like ,let alone my own,

if it were my computer i would boot to my win7 dvd and run the repair

did yo check the power options to check on when it warns of dying battery to see if its been changed ,

right click on battery icon by the clock and choose power option and check around in there for the settings

control panel /admin tools ,event viewer /check for system errors

instead of using run ,use cmd .go to start and type cmd in the search box ,the cmd will show in the search results ,right click on it and choose run as administrator ,this will give you the upper admin rights you need to run both commands .good luck

if the bsod error was cause by hardware ,like ram ,then yeah it will still happen after reinstall of windows .

try updating the drivers for you video card ,also run windows updates to see if any new ones .
also download and run malwarebytes the free version and scan computer ,post results logs here.

try this .go to start in search box type this , slui.exe 4 , click the program to run it and follow the prompts to reactivate windows

so i assume you are still getting the blue screen error,if so go back to cmd ,and do a check disk .
type in , chkdsk c: /r hit enter, it will/should say something about not being able to run until a restart ,so restart and it should run

no dont delete it
go to start / search ,type in cmd, in cmd type in, sfc /scannow ,to check and fix system files

this is what i found ,for changing it with out the os dvd .

You need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:

1. Reboot
2. Hold apple key + s key down after you hear the chime. (command + s on newer Macs)
3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):

mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -h now

4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and your good to go again!

just wanted to add that above only created a new acct that had no admin rights,couldn't even change the time ,until i did the following ,change the root password!

passwd *username*
reboot now

replace *username* with the desired login name. If you don’t know it, go in to /Users and see which folders are available…

jingda, my Windows firewall is on and the Internet Options are set to block popups.I haven't tried another browser yet and I don't know how to "ping" a website.

go to start / in the search bos type in "cmd" click on it to open command prompt. type in. ping www.google.com, hit enter .

also check in internet options/security to make sure google is not in a block list

hi, if your using IE as you browser .open it go to tolls /internet options ,and check to delete temp internet files

I tried the C:\Windows\inf\ie.inf method and it just made it very unstable, so I do not recommend that approach.

just backup all your data to another disk drive, Done...! :D
or if u want to install it without losing data and u can't backup your data to another drive, dont format the disk drive, u can install windows xp without disk formatiing.
