Which makes all those models on your site about 60 now :-s hahaha.

I use wire transfers which vary in price or for small amounts i use Western Union. It is instant. Also in the USA (and i think Canada) you can do a lot online with Western Union. As i said the best way is always a wire transfer

Yeh I e-mailed your company & they responded the first time, but not the second time.

Prompt e-mails & customer service is crucial before I'll even consider working with a company.

My initial post is clear why I don't want Storm Pay & I just used them a few months ago for someone here in the US & I had to pay about $11-13 just to send him $400 & he had to pay a s/c as well which pissed him off royally.

I like stormpay, they are simple and free to set up.

You can get an account within minutes.

You can request to have your funds in stormpay transferred to your bank account, request a check or use their debit card.

If you are abroad, you need to have 10 digits for your phone number to be accepted, the best thing is just to add a zero.

Your question isn't very clear. What is it that you wish to edit? For a good general-purpose text-editor, I like TextPad.

If you want a way to edit your web pages, in order to periodically tweak the content, I suggest "SnippetEdit". It's an editor that allows you to modify your pages, directly within your browser, in a WYSIWIG fashion: http://www.snippetedit.com

Ahh, yes, there is indeed gold in there LOL, I'm just afraid it wouldn't stand out enough.

I was looking at the orangey gold in your logo.

You could use the adobe style buttons with an orangey gold tick, I think that would work. Or make the button in that color and have white text on top.

Brown is too dull. The first button the guy designed was in brown & I didn't like it.

This is going to be hard & I forgot about having to redo the buttons too.

Red relates to DEBT, so it's not good to have your buy buttons/links in red.

How about a 3d buy now button in the brown or orange of your site? Have white text on top of it.
Alternately stick with the flat style buttons you have elsewhere in the site, but in orange or brown again.
Is your 'no red for buying' thing based on the 'red' 'danger' association?

I need a reliable text editor where I can edit just the text & not the code.

I don't like CMSs, so please don't even suggest them :)

I was going to use Contribute, until my web developer told me it doesn't work with external PHP files.

It would also be great if it could read forms b/c Contribute wouldn't read the form on the page & so once it got past the form, it crashed the page.

And another problem is when I'm in the middle of filing an e-mail & e-mail comes in, it seizes up the computer & the box where I'm filing in goes wonky & I have to close it down & re-open it again.

I hope everyone is doing well & will enjoy their Thanksgiving if they live in the States.

Ok, I have a customer who asked me for the following... "how I can edit my own digital photos (blurring my face, placing watermarks, sizing, text, etc.)" & I don't want to refer her to Photoshop b/c it's probably too complicated for her & definitely too expensive.

I don't know how much PSP is now, but I think that is an option right? Do you think she will be able to figure it out on her own?

Anything else that's really use friendly?

Also, I forgot to mention, that this problem I also had on the old system.

I copy & then paste & it won't work or, in MBs (usually only in these sites) I copy, paste & then it deletes from my clipboard. I have to literally copy each time I want to paste my post into multiple MBs.

With my system prior to the last one, I never ever had that problem.

Yeh all these online scanner programs only work on IE & I don't want to open it. :(

Also it says I shouldn't use it on a productive computer &* I'm not sure I want to take a chance, as I need this baby intact :)

Ewido will run with other virus programs running.

Maybe check in IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/and select the email program you are using.

No errors other than the memory error the other day & every since I switched from OE to Outlook, Outlook has caused problems when I am scrolling to file an e-mail or even when it loads, it takes forever & I don't feel it should on the new system.

I tried to upload a screenshot of what happens, but I don't think it attached :(

There are many "rootkit" variants, but if you have no reason to suspect that you are infected with one, I wouldn't worry about that for now.

The problems you're describing, especially given the fact that the system is newly-built, really sound like hardware/driver/etc. issues instead of symptoms of malicious infections. Are there any error/warning messages in the System and/or Application logs in the Event Viewer which might shed some light on the cause(s) of ht eproblems?

Ok, I never said I had it, I was wondering how I would know if I did have it b/c I heard the anti virus programs aren't picking it up.

How can I use Ewido when I already have Anti Vir on the system. I thought you can't run more than one program at a time.

Oh Oh! Rootkit, that's not good at all. Try this site: http://safecomputing.umn.edu/guides/scan_unhackme.html The unhackme program, that you use, from the above site, is a trial version.

Also, download Ewido, and scan your computer with it after you try the above site. You can download a trial version of Ewido here: http://www.ewido.net/en/

Be sure you update it before using it, and when it finds a problem, be sure to select the check box to do the same action (clean) when it finds a problem, otherwise, you will have to click continue, to keep scanning with every problem it finds.

Ok, I did that, but I'm still having problems. I go to find a file in the dialogue box & I'm pressing the little yellow file folder "up" button & when it goes from a drive to My Computer, it hangs for about 10 seconds.

Also, what is this root kit virus & how do I get rid of it if I have it. Anti Vir is not picking it up.

I'm seeking software or a program where I can develop training courses on a site for my staff & then have them take tests, then I can see their marks, if they improve over time, how everyone collectively is doing etc.

I already searched, found one (that's how I got the idea), e-mailed them, got no response, found others, but they were way too expensive, like $500-$5,000.

Ok, I just recently upgraded to a new 64 bit SATA RAID system & the person who put it together took forever LOL

There was something wrong w/ the XP drivers or something.

Anyway, I'm on XP now instead of 2000 with 1 G Memory & I can't remember the HD stats, but I know it's over 70 GB.

Yes I run Anti Vir & Spybot & Spyware blaster & even Scan Spyware.

I use FF, not IE & I have ZA always running.

What are the problems I'm having you ask?

1. Even w/ the new system, I still have to reboot every 48-72 hrs. & Outlook seems to crash every so often at times when e-mail is coming in, everything else siezes. I can't X out of a window or do much of anything until the mail has settled in.

Yes, I always have a lot of stuff open, but I had a ton of stuff open on the smaller system & I seem to have more problems w/ this one.

2. I woke up yesterday & it looks like my computer just rebooted on its own. Scary sh*t.

3. My system just went off electrical power & went on to my APC & I was sitting right here & all the lights are on, so I know there's nothing wrong w/ the electricity. It's not even raining outside for a change.

4. Some times …

No, I don't know how to use the validation programs, nor would even understand why they aren't validated, as I'm not a coder.

I was also asking for more than just whether they are validated, but I guess I won't get any help on this board.

I had some programmers on some MBs help me determine the person's code & then I had them take a test on Brain Bench.

Not great, but it's all I had.

So far the guy picked is ok, as far as I can tell. He is a little lax in his work at times not getting things done on time or having to be pushed to do things, but it doesn't take weeks to get something done.

1. Examine the code, and see how they have commented or not commented. If they do not comment their code, then when they start on yours, it will be a mess.. it is a habit that must be learned for good programmers.

2. Note the speed ( fastest is not always the best ) - see if they figit when they are coding ( they might not know the code inside and out, or may take time in the help files ).

3. Not knowing your business or your background with programming. If you do not have a background with it, have someone from your staff check and give their opinion on the coding ( I always let a technical lead check and edit the test, while I handle the personall side of the interviews ).

He was too scared which I later found out about, but really, how do you know whether a programmer is going to open up, ask questions, make suggestions or even have common sense, until you start working w/ them.

You don't, at least I don't.

I just finished with a website coder who had absolutely no common sense at all whatsoever.

He didn't ask questions either until I started getting upset when he made mistakes & my simple instructions were too complex for him (or so he said, I think it's just that he's not very smart & experienced even though he might be good at coding xhtml & CSS).

I don't think it takes ego, as I don't equate ego to being healthy. I feel it takes confidence in oneself to not be afraid, roll up the sleaves & get right down to biz & not be afraid to ask questions.

Then again someone really sharp can understand what's going on at a glance & doesn't have to be told 3 different ways b/c they didn't understand it the first time.

Ok, I have a web design issue here.

My programmer just created a new DB & these forms I have link to it.

Most of the forms are not e-commerce forms, but 2 are & we are having trouble understanding how to work the form & shopping cart issue.

The way my cart works is the code is an URL, so it can go underneath anything.

First, the form that just has one product, but the customer tells the form he want 2 or 3 of the same item, how do we get the cart to read the form that there is more than one?

It's worse, there are 2 items on one page & they can chose more than one of any of the two, or one of each & he is stumped as to how to make it look right.

I want something that looks professional, not where the customer has to go back & forth just to order & then checkout.

Actually when I say communication, I'm not just talking about a programmer talking & me not understanding, I'm talking about them even opening their mouthes & talking at all.

I had one programmer who took my notes & started coding & didn't ask ONE bloody question. This caused a whole host of problems b/c I didn't understand what was needed, how things were done etc.

I learned quite a lot about that.

I consider myself fortunate to have found the programmer I have now.

That looks good, but at quick glance it doesn't look like it's what I'm seeking for what I need. It looks like it's more a CMS to keep track of potential clients/leads.

The one I need helps to organize employees with their tasks so the boss can see who has started what & what priority it is, calendar, upload files, keep track of bookmarks, it has a message board etc.

Anything like that around?

Well there has to be a solution to the problem. One can't run a biz w/ people who can't communicate. In fact no relationship is healthy if there is no communication.

I did end up finding someone who communicates well & does a pretty good job of coding.

You can be the best coder & if I can't talk to you & you screw things up, it's worse than if you were mediocre.

Well I ended up getting someone to help me & in the end the programmer he gave as a pass didn't do a great job.

His code was ok, although the security code was unflexible, but communication & questions were almost non existant & caused a HUGE problem.

I had to hire another programmer just to fix the problems & we're still working on it.

At least he communicates well & he did take a test & did really well, so I'm hoping his code did well.

Also his code was viewed by other programmers & they made comments.

In the end communication & smarts is equally as important as coding & of course the person being ethical as you said.

You should start a screening service LOL. If done right, I feel it would be a big help to everyone involved.

I've been on both ends of this -- sort of. By trade I'm a programmer, but I've hired other programmers before.

My biggest measurement is their portfolio (but you have to know what you are looking at and how "hard" it is to actually create). Tests are ok, but only measure how good of a test taker you are, or how well you've memorized syntax.

Unfortunately non-programmers can be easily fooled by underhanded programmers.

Hi there,

I've been using security programs for my PDF files so people can't open it unless they have a key or password & can't move it from one computer to another.

I do give them permissions to print, so that has to be an option.

The first program was very buggy & not user friendly. The second one I have to pay for per month & sometimes I have to generate the key twice in order for the customer to be able to open the file & for some reason I never get the keys.

So I thought, what if Open Source has something.

Does anyone know of anything that's really good & user friendly both for me & the customer?

I've been this online office management system hyperoffice.com for a while now & I never liked the program b/c of all the bugs, it wasn't designed properly (user interface) & tech support always blames us (not just me, even my VA & techie) for their issues, plus they don't return e-mails when one complains or asks for a credit for all the problems.

It even went down last night & no apology or anything when I wrote to them.

I'm looking for an Open Source program that I can use instead & put on my server & have a programmer tweak if necessary. I only deal with MySQL/PHP

I was going to go with Storm Pay at one point, but then there was a problem & I can't remember what it is now. Oh now I remember. I needed it to pay people overseas & there was no way my web designer was going to pay $25 just to accept $85. LOL, so I don't go w/ them in the end.

They also have a bad rap from others.

I've been using www.StormPay.com for over 2 years without any problems. Fees are a little high but I just build the fees into my prices like you'd do with any expense. StormPay seems to accept more of the higher risk stuff so I suppose their fees are probably based on that.

I sell digital products/downloads and StormPay is great because they are available to more countries than PayPal. Support is better too. If I contact them I usually get a reply same day.

This has happened a few times & I don't understand why :(

I created a new page called http://www.exoticpublishing.com/seeking_business_partner.php & the minute I uploaded it, it started redirecting to http://www.exoticpublishing.com/contact.php

This happened with another page & I told the WD to just delete the page & redo it & he did which fixed that page problem, but he didn't know what the problem was. I'm now looking for a new WD, so I need help pleeeeassseee :)
