You mean when you edit the file but you can't save it because you do not have the permission. Change the adminstraor settigns and make yourself become the admin, if you had reformat your laptop, and create a new account, that new account already have admin rights and root user. Root user allow yourself to change file permission so other accounts on your laptop cannot edit the file. Have you restored the file properly, file not resore properly don't allow you to edit them. Tell me the steps you have done so far and what methods have you use so i can provide you with other methods. Did i confuse you?
If you are not regular on daniweb you won't have a lot of activity points. If you log in to daniweb maybe once a week your activity point will not be very high compare to login in every day and post. Take me for example. Also it depend on what year you will join. If you join in 2003, and have not been back to daniweb for 7 years, your activity point will be very less like what AD said, the activity point stuff started last year. So to track whether the hacker keylogger. LOl. Just for safety precautions, in case when a hackers strikes he will fall into your trap. Your keylogger will detect him and see what he types. An IP trakcer would also be good if you want one. Not really neccessary, IP Tracker track the IP address of your hacker. So you know where he stay and can knock on his house doors. You stated there might be posibility a hacker could have keylog your data, could be true could be false. First why would the hacker want to do that and what is his motive, second if you have awesome anti virus they can detect keylogger and you can trace whether the keylogger belong to you. If not it belong the the hacker and the hacker might have taken your data. better safe than sorry, turn on your firewall and block other un-identified conenction so hacker cannot enter your laptop
Keylogger is damn awesome. Some softwares provide a 3 day trial for their keylogger products and after that trial period you have to purchase it. Beware some keyloggers are not good as they seems to be, they can hardly keep track of what users type on your laptop. Best way is to try out different softwares trail period and after all these trying you select which software you think is the best, you can also ask me because i have a keylogger install on my macbook as well.
Sorry my mistake screen sharing is under desktop sharing. Go to desktop sharing and turn screen share off. I forget where desktop sharing is so i apologise for that. Try going to your control panel and find.
Reformat is the last option we will advise you, and if you want to reformat, backup your data in a hard drive first. Try repairing it first
have you change any sound settings. You might have accidentaly change it or someone or something change it for you. Go to your sound settings and see whether there is any changes, to check that. Reset every thing to default and see whether you can hear any sound if cannot see my first two sentence

Secure password consist of uppercase and lowercase letter and numbers 4) Do a scan, use your anti virus software do a full scan and later use malware bytes to do a scan as well. Malware btyes is free and can be download at the malware bytes website. Click here 5) Be more specific. Tell us when does this happen and whether you are connecting to a private network or your internet network at that time.

Some is screen sharing you and controlling your computer. Turn on your firewall to blcok all incoming connections and turn off screen sharing so other people cannot access and control your computer. I now un school after school i will give you more help
There is a software, as i have said before mac printing capabilites are very limited thus i hardly print out any notes. If i want to refer to notes, i will just send the files from my mac to my ipad. Then i can carry the ipad around and read the notes. There are many printing programs but they are also limited it seems that windows is better at printing

What i said is that your problem is a weird one. A damn freaking weird one. The problem might still occur in the future and might have to do with malware or virus. Doing a scan make sure that there is no malware on your computer and malware is not the cause of it your problem too.
To add on, hotmail does not misbehave itself something is causing the problem, that means your problem is not totally solve since it you can log in a few hours later. Something must be causing this and second you should not be rude to other members like Rik. Rik have been with daniweb for a long time and you should listen to his advice. Try update your dvd driver. Second, do a scan for any viruese. You said when you put in CD it can't play it. Right? Try reintall the driver if the update failed. I will take it that you have try other discs and the cd also cannot play. This tells us is the driver problem. Have you got a spare driver. Try changing the dvd driver. After that insert the disc if it can auto play. Done! your problem is solve, if it cannot the problem has to do with software related. We will slowly analyse it. Good luck
You mean you don't have a slot to put in your dvd or cd. If that is the case just go and buy one and fix it yourself or your dvd or cd can't be read. If that is the case try updating all drivers first
Choose only one to use. Either Macfuse or TrueCrypt. Choose the one you one and delete the other one. I use before true crypt but after sometimes i change to mac fuse. Go to system preference and click on mac fuse at the bottom. Tell me what you see. A screenshot will be better
You mean turn on wireless? Is very easy, when you got your laptop check the sides of the laptop for a button. There will be 2 buttons. One is for wireless the other one is for bluetooth. Turn on the wireless and you are off to go. If it does not work made sure you wireless card is properly install, try re install it again. After you are done on your laptop go to your desktop. At the bottom right hand corner, hover your mouse over the icon until you see one that said wireless. Click on that and join a network and see whether you can connect to the interent

Try having a firewall to protect the internet and keep your workers or colleages away from harmful websites. You must be careful cause some virus is not actually a virus while some does not seem like a viurs is actually one. My friends had created a virus but is harmless. When you download the file, the file will auto run a program so that your anti virus software will quickly open and detect the file as harmful but actaully is harmless. Try to block out harmful sites that can secretly download files to your laptop and you may never know. Do a scan daily if your company is large and have a lot of workers.

As you have already experience it, Mac style of printing is pretty crappy. You have some limited choices only. Firsy you can try to save the file you want to print into a windos format and save it in your thumbdrive. Drag the file out of your thumb drive into another computer that has better printing capabilities and start printing. You can always google and search for the printing software you want, there are a lot but i am not sure which one you want. Good luck
Try doing a virus scan to check whether virus might be pass over the network. Turn on the firewall and block crappy stuff. You know those that might contain virus. Just take some precautions. I am still analysing your problme, my school also have this problem and the school IT teachers found it was someone sending a virus over the network that messed up the firewall system
Not so cool, although i am a skype user microsoft is a bit too much. Just because they have created some cool stuff and rich, does not mean they can keep on buying other people stuffs. Not everything can be bought using money. Is there a link to show the report why microsoft buy skype?
How long do you mean by how long. 3 years or less than that. Are you a sponsor before. I have seen such poster than say unverified user but some were sponsor and they changed that. I just check your profile and i saw you don't have a reputation page. Maybe you get infracted before or was banned and it expires. You have to confirm this with the mods, they have more experience than me and maybe they can help you reverse it. Good luck
