Of course it depends on the model and what you want. I used to like Toshiba more than Dell. Dell laptops use cheap materials at the moment. Don't know much about Toshiba at the moment. Good luck!
I will choose Lenovo G770. Lenovo is great but the battery life is a bit disappointing. When they said it can last for 5-6 hours it actually mean 3-4 hours.
3-4 hours is still pretty good :P

Well, I can say that Dell's keyboard quality is awful these days. Also they have made some changable panels, which are actually useless. I won't recommend you a specific model, because there are a lot of promotions and deals on every local store, but I would like to recommend you …

Still no experience with the new iPad, but the resolution seems to be great! Will make sure to check it out as soon as possible.

I am wondering why you need Internet Explorer on such a wonderful machine? :D Don't poison it. If you are a web developer and you need to test CSS and stuff, there are some other tools for that.

With my experience I can say that Chrome is the fastest browser. No doubt. But the new update of firefox (7) is also great.

First... Use automatically generated margins. It will center the container.
#Container { width:1024px; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; }
Your logo might not be showing because of your location. Could you please upload the files on any hosting, so we can clearly review what are you doing wrong?

About width and height... A website is usually built with width of 960px; it is some kind of standart, which fits to all kind of resolutions. While working on layout in Photoshop I always set the document size to 1350x1200px, it gives me more range to work on, but the …

You have to use CSS. Just create your style with css and call the class "a.current". Then, in your link (depending where are you located), add the "a.current" class. Example: CSS
a.current { color: #ffde0f; }
HTML
<a href="#">Your normal link</a> <a href="#" class="current">Your location at the moment</a>
