Re: When first starting out, try posting link exchange requests in various webmaster forums. For example, we offer a "Traffic Exchange" forum and so do other forums such as www.webhostingtalk.com - also, check out the threads that are already there - it's a great way to make contacts in your industry. …

Re: That will totally replace Facebook? Currently unknown ... but that doesn't mean that Facebook's future killer isn't currently in stealth mode building up capital, or perhaps has yet to be invented. On the Internet, *anything* can happen over the course of a day's time.

Re: I am in agreement that it's weird that the tabs reorder themselves. However, save from listing every room you've participated in all day being listed in alphabetical order, anything else that's more intuitive would require additional database calls and/or additional information being stored in the database, which I *really* want …
Re: I'm not sure what SohanM is talking about, but something tells me he's talking about Google AdWords and AdWords Campaigns and Ad Groups. Am I right, Shree? Have you had a chance to figure it out yet? It's pretty straight forward and Gooogle gives you a lot of help getting …
Re: There is a team who is working on an iPhone app, although they have just begun, but as far as I am aware, no one is working on an Android app. Having one would be greatly appreciated I'm sure! :)
Re: Hi there. Welcome to DaniWeb! That's some username you got there ... lots of numbers :)
Re: You don't have the right tool for the job to type it in, so you need to print it out and fill it in.
I just noticed tonight that the Login via Facebook feature hasn't been working for an embarassingly long time (aka multiple days). I checked it out, and apparently FB decided to change something on their end to break our OAuth integration. It was an easy fix, and it's working again. Sorry …
Re: Firstly, no one knows what pagerank their site is: it's an internal factor in Google's algorithm and it's not made public. Google used to have their toolbar that showcased "toolbar PR" on a scale of 0-10 (10 being best) but they stopped updating that years ago. Regardless, pagerank is just …

![]() | Re: My first thought was that I wonder if all of the forums use the same anti-spam system such as stopforumspam.com but it seems you thought of that already. Unfortunately that's the only thing I can think of :( |
Re: Davey, that's so mean! :-P Remember, DaniWeb started as the class notes from my Intro to Programming college course, to help other Computer Science students needing help with the same coursework. It seems like you're using Blogger, so youcan update the template by using the template designer as so: https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/176245?hl=en

Re: Some of the people in this thread seem to think you're talking about your SEO PageRank (building backlinks, etc.) AdWords "rank" is Quality Score, and it based on your bid and CTR. Create very targeted ads that reuse keywords you're bidding on (because then the keywords in the ad will …

Re: I think it's really sad that this is actually a *byproduct* of the majority of threads being one-off wehre the OP never returns. I'm more interested in what we can do to rectify that problem in terms of getting them more interested in returning to not just mark the thread …

Re: To avoid problems with spamming and new members PMing moderators and other members privately instead of in the public forums, new members can only reply to PMs that were sent to them. Which moderator are you trying to reach out to and why?
Re: The TAB? Do you mean a tablet? Huh??
Re: Personally I prefer camel case, username or multipleWordUsername However, I code in PHP, and it's convention there to use all lowercase variables, with words separated by underscores, such as username or user_id Personally I think it's ugly.
Re: Perhaps it's because I run a user-generated content site where I have no control over what people say, but I put no effort into keyword density :) I think if it looks like you're trying to hard, you're just screwing yourself over in the end.
Re: Sitepoint and WebmasterWorld. I also visit forums for forum owners such as BigBoardAdmin and TheAdminZone.
Re: Why does a 4-5 page Jira website take 12 days to complete? *Full* days? I would think a couple hundred bucks.
Re: I'm confused as to exactly what you're asking. There are already lots of webmaster-targeted forums out there (sitepoint.com, searchenginewatch.com, etc). There are also forums out there targeted just to people who own and manage online communities (bigboardadmin.com, etc). Is that what you mean?
Re: Hmm .... sorry, I don't really know of any that are self-hosted, but may I ask why you want to self-host your eCommerce solution instead of outsourcing to something like Shopify? It can turn into a pain with having to deal with SSL certificates and credit card processing.
Re: Because of the weird date picker we use. You have to select '81 in the dropdown, and then the dropdown will repopulate going back another 20+ years. Aside from that, you can manually type in a year into the text box instead of selecting it from the dropdown.

Re: The edit button does automatically disappear. This only happens if you visit the page just at the cusp of the expiration window, where you load the page (where the edit button appears) just before the edit timeframe is up, but you actually *click* the edit button just after the edit …
Re: Hi Suzie, Yes, I agree with you. Unfortunately, we have Google Ads on the topic pages, and it violates Google's Terms of Service to have dropdown menus that could potentially cover up part of their ads. That's the reason.
![]() | Re: No style revision planned. I'm quite content with the current revision that, as you say, is my humble attempt at taking the previous incarnation and making it more "social media" looking and community focused without it losing its identity. ![]() |
The End.
