Is DaniWeb extremely slow for you?? It's alternating for me between pages being speedy and taking absolutely forever to load. Is this on my end with my ISP?

We used to have a Hardware Swap / Buy and Sell Hardware forum, and there were maybe five threads total in the seven years that we had it. Finally dumped it last year.

It's nothing since it doesn't exist anymore :) Years ago, you had to manually submit your website to search engines so they would know about you. Nowadays, web crawlers follow links throughout the web, and they discover any webpage that has been linked to from another webpage.

It's not possible to hack into *any* network using only a single technology, regardless of what that technology is. Part of being a good hacker is knowing the right tools for the job, and every job is different. That being said, I will say there are certain "hacking" techniques that …

Oh goodness, I forget now what the reason was, but I promise I definitely had one!! I think it was because a forum is considered marked read when all the threads inside it have been read. Without this behavior, a forum would *never* show up as being read because it …

Both are equally obnoxious and I don't like unsolicited phone calls or unsolicited text messages. Phone calls are more irritating and interrupt me. SMS messages are frustrating for people who pay for incoming text messages. Typically I'm the type of person (being in the advertising industry) who responds *very* well …

Link wheels are useless nowadays and Google is cracking down really hard on advertorials, limiting the benefit from guest posting. It's all about social media.

If you *did* want to, however, you could use the jQuery library and use a bit of javascript to issue an AJAX request on hover. Check out [this](http://api.jquery.com/load/) and [this](http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.get/)

Blasphemy! I really like PDFs. Perhaps your issue isn't with the actual format but with the fact that you are using them incorrectly. They're a good portable format when documents need to be read (not so much modified and worked with, which seems to be your dilemma). They're small in …

PR is PageRank, which is just one factor in determining how your site ranks in search engines. SERPs are Search Engine Result Pages, which are the actual result pages you ultimately want to be on (aka the end goal).

First of all, never listen to sales reps :) They aren't the company's SEO / marketing people and don't know about SEO. They'll often just tell you what you want to hear. However, the actual answer is: it depends. It depends if it's a white label solution, how it's integrated, …

Maybe not professional in nature, but certainly a lot of businesses are able to make a lot of money from Facebook, Twitter, etc. You'd be surprised. To answer the question posed earlier, it's federal US law that a website cannot collect any personal information, or allow any freeform posting, etc., …

To leverage something means to make the best possible use of it, so when you leverage browser caching, it means that you're taking advantage of browser caching (having files already downloaded once to your computer and not having to download them again) to speed up web pages.

Penguin is a penalty for over-optimization. You get hit by Penguin when you have an unnatural looking backlink profile. From what I understand, everyone who has recovered from Penguin has done so primarily by getting rid of bad backlinks and directory links, and making their backlink profile look completely natural …
