This your current PC?
What is the problem? What exactly are you trying to do? Seems it already has the chip you mentioned.
Hmm...
Okay then how about the full retail version?
No I havent got it yet. I was after booting from the disc as opposed to upgrading from a running windows OS.
I've heard you can install a fresh version(any) from an upgrade disc by skipping product key entry, as I have the keys I can enter this later.
I'm not to interested in the upgrade itself but if the disc can be used to do a fresh install.
Thanks.
Hello,
I am after restoring a few computers with Vista on and I want to know for certain if I could restore them using a upgrade version of vista.
I am after booting from the upgrade disc and installing vista from scratch and using the key provided with the computer being restored.
Thanks in advance.
Just double checking that you didnt assume the BIOS didnt recognise the CD/DVD drive because it isnt booting from it.
What are you trying to boot from USB? which operating system? I dont believe you can simply copy files to USB and expect to boot from it, you'll have to configure it to be able to boot via USB.
Hello,
Did you set to boot from the CD/DVD drive in BIOS?
Hello,
What did you try to open?
If you incorrectly selected a program to open a file with and you want to open it with another program, right click the file, select open with, then click choose default program and select the program you wish to open the file with from now on.
Hello,
Can you see the devices under the disk manager?
click start and type disk manager and select create and format partitions.
The devices should be listed there also with partition information.

Hello,
Have you just got this laptop or is this a new problem?
Never learn do they?
Hello,
Which logo would that be? Windows logo? toshiba logo?
Hello,
Are you just after "hiding" files or do you wish to edit sharing of files. You can share files with other users on the computer/network, you can edit this by also right-clicking and select share with nobody, homegroup, specfic users etc...
Otherwise the previous posts should cover the basics of hiding a file from view. Hidden files/folders can always be displayed again by altering folder options to show hidden files, should someone be searching for them, the file doesnt "dissapear" completely.
It verify's you have downloaded the file correctly, that you have a correct/uncorrupted version.
Search for the version of ubuntu you have and see if the hash value is the same that you get from the disc you have burned. It should be the same, if not this maybe your issue.
Also is your system 64 bit? You can always try the 32 bit version.
You should also be able to check the Disk for defects when booting from CD/DVD.
Hello,
Have you check the MD5 for the iso you downloaded that it matches?
Hello,
What software are you using?
Still have you old device from burning cd's?
My Windows Media Player help, version 12, running x64 windows professional;
Because Windows Media Player doesn't support the CD-Text standard, the audio CDs that you burn don't include the media information from your original WMA or MP3 files. This means that if you burn an audio CD containing songs from multiple albums and you try to play that CD on another computer, the other computer might not be able to automatically display the names of the songs on the disc.
Hello,
Have you got a 64 or a 32 bit operating system?
What do you use your laptop for?
Why are you after upgrading RAM?
Hello,
How about postig ur latop details so we can look into the error/beep code?

Has this been happening a lot or a recent issue?
Hello,
Do you have an external monitor to hook up to your laptop?

Hello,
Does your Hard drive boot normally without the CDs?
It does sound like you havent changed the boot order... Did you save changes when you exited the bios?
Usually if no OS is dected on the hard drive you get a message on screen like "Operating system not found" or "Missing Operating System"
Yes, I agree getting the recovery CD's to boot is what you should be aiming for. Make sure CD/DVD drive is set to boot from first, this should be above anything else... Include a picture if you can if your having troubles.
Set CD/DVD Drive as boot device, Boot from CD, then reinstall or repair, perhaps better going with a reinstall or if manufactures recovery CD's the perhaps restore factory settings.
Are you using a manufacturers recovery CD, a recovery CD that came with your computer?
Please start a new thread/article with your problem nenascar ;)
You know, i didnt even notice, Thank you.
Great :D
Sort posts by creation date please ;)
Theres still things im struggling to find like my recent post lists n that but ill look round some more.
eep...
trawl time...
Yes hopefully I'll get used to this new system. You have gotten rid of a fair bit of fluff since my last visit ;)
7 year old thread... yeah...
Could have done with starting a new thread. ;)
Wow... There have certainly been some changes :) I am lost with this new layout, back to school ;)
Hello,
Didn't there used to be a sort by creation date for viewing posts? Or am i not looking in the right place...?
I'm not to keen on seeing resurrected posts from like 7 yrs ago clogging up recent posts.
Thanks
Hello,
Could you post you laptop details? specification? Model?
Hello,
What is it that you are trying to do?
I like to dual boot too, but server??? why?
AS far as trying different flavours of OSes I find virtual machines much more convenient.
Hello,
Is this like a school/university project? If so there maybe resources in the library available or they may have subscriptions to sites which have journals.
Hello,
Are you referring to "free space" available or "total space"?
Which device are you using?
May I ask why you are using windows server?
You should be able to install all these OSes on one machine or virtual machines, not that I imagine having 3 operating systems being to useful.
Why are you after installing all these operating systems on one computer?
Well, I would still recommend the nVidia drivers. They generally are a generation ahead of the system vendor's version.
**nod** I agree nvidia is the way to go.
Hello,
Try http://windows.about.com/od/maintainandfix/ss/CHKDSK.htm if in fact you have a problem. If you do, a little more description would help :)
hi,
If you are thinking heat problems did you reapply any thermal paste to the CPU? Perhaps new paste is required if all other components are good. The old paste may not be once what it was...
- Let us know how it goes
Hi,
Honesty from these 2 I would go for the more expensive one if you just use it at home.
As far as graphics from the product name seems they are using Radeon 6470M(1st one) and Radeon 7450M(2nd/$30 more one). The 7450M is supposed to be higher spec but seem similar, Radeon 7450, Radeon 6400M.
As far as CPU's go the more expensive one is also supposed to have a slightly better spec, Intel Core i5 2430M, Intel Core i5 2450M the second more expensive being marginally faster.
It's up to you which you decided, you may get the cheaper one then you may end up thinking maybe the other would have been better or be perfectly satisfied with the cheaper.
On paper the expensive one should be faster but it would depend on what you were using the laptop for too. If you are a gamer then the bigger screen and the tiniest slice of extra speed/performance maybe be important too you.

Hi,
Did you try right clicking on the installation file and run as administrator?
- Let us know how it goes
Hello,
terracopy is an exe so you could have run that as an administrator. If that program was trying to do anything needing admin rights it will not have been able to do it if it was run as a normal user.
Hello,
Are you after login on over a network as in your own account over the network or gaining access to this one machine(server) remotely?
Hello,
What exactly are you using the computer for? gaming will have higher requirements while surfing n word processing etc. will not exactly need a super computer.
Depending on your requirements you maybe able to buy a motherboard, CPU and ram as a bundle saving the hassle and worry about incompatibility.
Hello,
have you tried ordinary copying, right click copy paste?
have you ran the program as administrator? the program may need to be run as administrator for those files because of permissions.
Hello,
Have you tired disconnecting the modem from the computer and turning it on? Does the computer still boot up?
Hello,
As far as I am aware if it is just the partition table that is damaged then everything else is still there... like a book without an index the computer doesn't know where the files are, so if you fix the partition table then you will have access to them again just like before.
- Let us know how it goes.
Hello,
Any chance of more info?
When you say can't boot up does that mean nothing happens when you switch the net book on? OR does windows start and freeze before you log on? or after?
