Could be the processor. Was the replacement motherboard identical to the old? If not exactly the same, you will have to do a system repair using the operating system disc. Might also be the psu that is not working correctly.

There is more to gaming than a motherboard. The processor is just as important as the gpu, as if it is to slow, it will become a bottleneck for the gpu.

Uninstall the drivers that are on there now, then use a driver cleaner in safe mode. Once you have done that, try installing the latest drivers for your particular card. You may want to download the latest drivers before uninstalling the old ones.
