I have never tried but I tell not to do video just because you think everyone is doing video -- it has to make sense with your product or service. Some things lend themselves to visuals, others don't.
Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it's easier said than done.

Just concentrate on unique commanding content and you will get natural backlinks without any reciprocal.
I think that Blogs are worthwhile only when they have interesting content.
If you have a website or a blog, you should definitely sign up for Google Adsense.

Write more content. If you want quality traffic, you've got to write content. People will not visit your site if you don't write a decent amount of good quality content, and new visitors definitely won't come back.
Each search engine uses different algorithms. Google likes content, backlinks and all sorts of things.
Domain age in my experience is pretty important. If you register your domain for 2-4 years, it would be better than just 1-2 years.
Good list there. Its good to think of all the free ways you can target traffic if only you apply some planned effort.
