Re: More information is required to address this issue, and it should probably occur in a different category. What exactly are you looking at for the 'network list'? If it is your computer's network list, what operating system are you running?

Re: It looks like your system is thinking the mail is destined localhost and is trying to re-direct the mail to a local user on the system, is it only that domain that has issues, or if you try to send anywhere does it do the same? Does your /etc/postfix/virtusertable look …
Re: Are the same 'version' of the packages installed? Sometimes newer packages are installed by the OS, but the oracle installer is looking for specific files in specific directories. Some people get around this with symlinks, although I don't think there is going to be a 'fix' for this until oracle …
Re: You don't need the 301 in the redirect line, this would work: [icode]redirect / http://newdomain.com/ [/icode] or if you want it permanent: [icode]redirect permanent / http://newdomain.com/[/icode] If your wanting to use mod-rewrite you can do the following:
RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://newdomain.com/$1 [R=permanent,L]
| |
Re: Here is my speed, which is about right, I can't live with less than 20mbit now, and am really happy I get direct gigabit at my work :D
Re: You probably need to get the driver disk (for the HD controller) from the manufactor and load it during the installer.
Re: I'm not 100% posative, but this line: host1: 192.168.1.2 looks wrong, it should just be: host1: and make sure you have 'host1' in your /etc/hosts file with the right ip.
Re: That is also a way that most people (at least ones that I know) make images used for external bootable devices (DVD, USB, PXE, etc.). Make an image in Virtualbox (or VMware) then write that image to a bootable media device (in your case a hard disk).
Re: This is a limitation by "What's on the screen", if you want to use the vi copy function you could do something like '1000y' to put it into the yp keyboard. If you want to do this easier, you can use gvim, select all, then use the copy button on …
Re: The CPU Virtualization support, is a new set of calls that the CPU can support that will allow it to perform more efficiently when running tasks belonging to a virtualized environment. Previously, it was *possible* to run virtual machines on PCs, but it was done at a great cost of …
Re: As more people start to use iTunes and other online/digital media sources, the HDs will fill up quick. My personal move collection in itunes is just now over 2TB in size, and still growing rapidly, with 6 TV Shows that regularly get recorded in hi-def. a single Hi-Def Blue Ray …
Re: That is actually a pretty rare issue, although my dell inspiron 1501 had the same issue. It turns out that the laptop wasn't "letting go" of the sound card during reboots, and the new OS was trying to access the device at a different 'location' than the linux partition. I'm …
Re: PayPal now offers an nifty API that you can build into your website to accept credit cards without forcing people to leave your site as well. Amazon payments and google checkout are also both good payment services that allow people to use credit cards etc. to pay.
Re: This likely happens when you visit a busy web server, I've been looking at the web server load averages and only one of them had high load this morning, so this shouldn't be a regular occurrence. Unfortunately when the Daniweb Digests go out, the site does become a little slower …
Re: We're not exactly sure how it happened, but some messages from last week just went out. From what I can tell, this shouldn't happen again.
Re: I agree with the statements about CentOS, the lag time is a bit excessive recently due to the whole power struggle in the organization. Ubuntu is a good choice, but if you are going to use it for a server, use the LTS (Long term support) release. 8.04 was an …

Re: Your first cron should run at 5:30 *every* day, the first thing I would check is /var/log/cron and make sure that the cron task is actually running. One limitation might be if you have "access times" configured for your user account, since cron will need to execute as that user.
Re: As much as you (or I) hate to admit it, that is really a very nitch market. While a forum about those types of tools and utilities would be nice, they can generally be filed under a different category (such as *nix software, or Network, Servers, etc.)
Re: If you look at the device list, are you even recognizing your sound devices? It is likely a driver issue, but without further information, there are 1000 reasons this could happen.
lately I've been playing with MyBrute which has become really addictive. Anyone else have flash games they enjoy?
Re: Bypassing security of a website, regardless of the reason does break several US Laws, and probably a few international ones. This should not be discussed here.
Re: Vista by default automatically syncs your time to a timeserver (time.windows.com I think), but what your seeing is typically caused by 2 options. 1. Double check your time zone, if your in Central time, make sure your set to 'Central Time (US & Canada)' instead of just 'Central time' or …
Re: Have you tried to use spotlight to locate the folder? Sometimes folders are hidden from the UI but are still on the filesystem, using Terminal to get a listing (ls) on the folder is likely a good way to see if the folder is there, or really is gone.
Re: Microsoft does use Unix/Linux servers for a few of their production environments, but that is obvious to anyone in the field looking for a job. They recently had several positions open for *nix Sysadmins. I'll say this again: Microsoft makes great Desktop/Client software.
Re: You go to the appropriate forum for what your attempting to ask about. In this case, it looks like this would belong in the Windows XP section: http://www.daniweb.com/forums/forum10.html
Re: There were some other issues that came up, we're currently working on a resolution to those.
Re: The "Online" link works out of my newsletter, can you tell me what URL the link is pointing to?
Re: Yes, I have this setup on my Fedora laptop using a NVidia laptop chipset, using 1024x768 and then 1680x1050 on my monitor.
Re: There really isn't a 'Top ranking' for DNS providers, although it might be a good project for someone to start. Many of them have "Unique" features to their brand of DNS hosting, and don't overlap with many other big-name providers.
Re: Make sure that you don't have a firewall running, sometimes they can block connections to even localhost. Beyond that, you can go into a command prompt and type netstat -an to get a listing of all the ports that are open, you can check to make sure 80 (apache) 3306 …
Re: Which application are you using to do this? I just did it with firefox and didn't have an issue.
Re: Is this machine part of a domain? Sometimes group policy can prevent even administrator from installing applications. You can go into "Control Panel -> Users" to get a list of the users, and to see which user you are logged in as. Under the user it would list if that …
Re: The 10 1/2 hour wait was definitely an experience that I would never do again, but it did give me a chance to get to know people that I never would have run in to otherwise. By the end we were almost each others support group, because the wait was …

Re: Yahoo is the worst e-mail program out there, and hotmail isn't much better. From personal experience, if I used Yahoo I would be worried about the messages I *didn't* get. If you ask any mail system administrator out there to look at their e-mail error logs, they will find a …
Today, a very surprising announcement was made by Blizzard Entertainment. Starcraft II, which is the sequel to the very popular 'Starcraft' series, has been announced. This game has been a rumor in a lot of people's minds for a very long time. The original game was developed 9 years ago, …

Re: I can't see 'Home Server' having IIS7, since there really isn't much use for a web server in a person's home, but it may be an addon option. LVM and RAID do seperate things, so this really isn't going to affect raid, it will actually make more use of it …
Re: The 'stealing' part comes in when they change what kind of license it uses. BSD no longer provided the driver as GPL, which breaks the GPL. It's stealing if you don't give credit where credit is due. :cheesy:
Re: Working in the hosting industry, I hate to say, this isn't very unusual, and it's been happening for a long time.
Re: You can't forget that Microsoft is counting licenses sold to companies, that probably arn't using them yet. I know quite a few companies that have over 200-300 licesenses (each) that don't even have vista installed on a single computer.

Re: It's more about letting people know what is going on in the industry. The more people understand, the more they can protect themselves from potential issues in the future. I would hate to see someone get compromised because someone else used this (or any other technique) to bypass activation/updates.
Re: The reason google will suceed is not because of the price of the domain, I get those for $4.99 a piece, but, because people can order their domain, and use the other utilities that google provides. |
