You mean like their browser history? That's stored in [INLINECODE]username/Library/Safari/History.plist[/INLINECODE]. Double-click it, and it should open up Property List Editor for easy viewing. Just to warn you, however, it's quite easy to both clear browser history within Safari, and to disable browser history and download history with the "Private Browsing …

Only way is to use something like VNC to get a remote desktop connection to the Mac Mini, or you hack the iMac apart and do some splicing and soldering to permanently turn it into a monitor...

The photos should be somewhere in [inlinecode]Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals[/inlinecode]. If they're not there, my only explanation is that you somehow didn't copy all the photos. And you can't recover what isn't there.

The thought of putting a "Don't spam here" sign on a website is about as ludicrous as the idea of putting a "Weeds strictly prohibited" sign in front of a flowerbed.

Half the battle is figuring out the BIOS brand. Once you know that, you can research on how to enter the setup. So, what screen output do you see when you start up the computer?

Do you have a startup script in your StartupItems? http://switch.richard5.net/isp-in-a-box-v2/installing-apache-on-mac-os-x/
Starting at boot Off course you would want to start Apache2 at boot time and not have to manually start everything up after a reboot. To do this you need to download the ApacheStartupItems.tar archive and extract as root …

Shockwave Player hasn't been ported natively to the new Intel Mac platform yet. To install it, you'll have to run Safari in Rosetta mode (note: Rosetta mode has nothing to do with the Rosetta Stone software).

Locate Safari in /Applications, and choose File->Get Info. HP doesn't provide Linux support for most of its hardware... if you want to get hardware components working, you'll have to install individual third party drivers (that is, if they've been written). So, what hardware doesn't work? Once you find out the hardware that isn't working, you can usually google …
How do you erase the hardrive if we don't have access to anything on the computer?
In most cases, it should be as simple as inserting the Mac OS installation disk into the drive and booting off it. Somewhere in the installer you'll be allowed to erase the disk.

>D-Link DSL924 Wireless ; Will it require adapter/ connect with iMac The DSL-924 is just an ordinary router with an ADSL modem built in. All you need is a standard 10BaseT cable to connect it to your iMac (or you could just use the wireless).

I've heard of such installers before, but I'm a little bit curious as to how it works. For example, how does GRUB boot the kernel from an NTFS-based filesystem? I was always under the assumption that GRUB was incapable of reading from NTFS partitions. I'm also wondering about the kernel …

I have to say that I agree with Dani. Your initial examples -- .emacs, .xmodmap, .xinitrc -- what does it matter? They're all text files. Does not having the exact filename affect the reader's ability to comprehend? The way I see it, the extension is a universal way of identifying …

I've experienced this problem as well on (K)ubuntu. I solve it by hit-and-miss; sometimes I'll try connecting through the terminal with
# iwconfig ath0 essid my-network # dhclient ath0
Where ath0 is the name of your wireless device. Although this works, it tends to screw up Network Manager because it …
