Remove the Mp3 player. Insert the Setup cd that came with your player. Follow the instructions. A message will tell you when to insert the mp3 player.

do you have automatic updates turned on, also a redirect is usually caused by trojan/virus .

Do you use laptop till it is totally dead ,if not use the laptop till its fully discharged ! then recharge it fully and use it again till fully dead ,then recharge it and see what it dose

so you want to disable downloading from your computer ,as there are more ways than firefox to download thing from the internet on your computer .

you need to password protect your computer and open a restricted acct for the other people

The computer doesnt even boot up in safe mode so i cant disable this.

I installed a antivirus[Rising] program on a computer last week and it went into a loop .couldn't get into safe mode either, so i used a Linux Live CD to delete the rising .exe ,so it would no linger run at start up and cause the loop !

8gb is not good enough for xp. I've seen XP run on 4gb but you can't do much except play Spider Solitaire.

yeah i think thats what they are asking ,sound to me like they have a ps/2 y cord going from ps/2 to 2 usb's ,they are used for connecting a usb mouse and keyboard to a single ps/2 on a laptop generally i do believe, and i do not think a flash drive will function on it !

I did not recieve and disk when I bought the computer, they said that the system recovery was on another part of the computer. One that could not be damaged and I didn't need it.

the problem like i said could be between the computer and the external case ,so removing the hdd from the case and hooking hdd drive directly to a computer maybe be what need to be done to fix problem

I was referring to burning software!
it could be that the dvd is failing ,lense getting weak!
have a look in registry for this it helps when dvd will not install may help in this situation also .

Possible Solution......go to Start /run/ type in ,regedit.and do the following

There are 2 reg keys that can screw the device......remove them both and reboot......

The keys are:

I still have the problem, but the popup only popups maybe once every 5-10 minutes, and it popups so fast that if I'm not looking straight at my comp. screen then I won't notice it

I am trying to burn a DVD. I have burned DVDs on my laptop for 3 years. But recently it is not letting me.

In device manager I am told that my DVD/CD ROM Drive is MATSHITA DVD-RAM UL850S.

in device manager ,right click it and uninstall it and reboot computer letting it reinstall and give it a try

I tired from disk managment, when I did it got to 100 percent complete but then a popup came on and said "windows could not complete the format" (something along those lines, wasn't exactly the same as the previous error, but has the same gist to it)

ok, with the drive connected right click on its icon in mycomputer go properties and tools ,and check the disk for errors ,check off to fix any

only thing i can think of is with the cd in the drive go to mycomputer ,right click on the cdrom icon and chose explorer and look for the software folder ,and open it and find the setup/install .exe should be named something like that , file and click on it.if no luck ,make sure cam is unplugged and try the auto run and reinstall that way
