do you have a router between the modem and your computers? If so make sure the latest firmware is installed and let us know if that fixed it. If you don't know how to install the firmware let us know and someone will give you a hand. :)

go with a core2duo. Yeah the Xeons and Opertons are nice... But they're also built for servers. I recently heard them compared like this: Xeons are designed to perform effectively while still maintaining stability. Core2Duos are just really fast. Unless you're going to be doing a bunch of CAD/Multimedia editing, …

i prefer dell over all vendors. Noone can touch their support or MS prices. They're the #1 Microsoft reseller in the world... you won't find a better price than dell if it's made by microsoft.

access denied errors in this scenario usually come from a permissions problem. Right-click the folders containing the files and go to sharing permissions... try clicking the "allow users to modify my files" and click OK. Can you see the files you want; you just can't access them?

I've been researching Carnegie Mellon's MISM program a bit. I'm curious as to whether or not it's worth the price (~$26,000/sem (if i get no financial aid and no scholarships)).

I'm not too good at this kind of thing. However, I did ask my brother to take the rhythm test and he made a 96%. But he's also majoring in ethnomusicology... sooo.

Well I had the cable company come over today and they checked our cables and whatnot. Turns out we're paying for 8MB/d and getting 12MB/d but that's only if one computer is directly connected. If we connect through the router with the same exact test we're getting 6MB/d. This is …

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a couple magazines I could subscribe to in order to help me stay on top of new technology. Anyone have a suggestion? I would really love something networking focused; I checked Cisco and it looks like they've discontinued all hard-copy materials. thanks :D
