What type of cursor is it? Is it the Microsoft Windows cursor indicating that Windows is trying to load? Try booting to a DOS floppy and see if you have access to the C:\ drive.

To unsubscribe, go into your control panel, and then to Edit Options. Uncheck the box "Receive Occasional Email from DaniWeb." Alternatively, there should be an Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the monthly newsletter. If there is not, simply forward the email to me (cscgal [at] daniwebmail.com) and I will …

Sorry, don't know enough about either to help you. However, I was under the impression they were both CMS software for publishing articles, not for eCommerce with the ability to manage shopping carts.

Hey there ... Yeah, I heard about the Sprint 3D phone. That's awesomeness. I have a 3DTV and am super into that type of stuff. If you could do a product review / story about it, that would be just great. So much appreciated.

There are no plans to create a mobile app version of DaniWeb. There are plans, however, to investigate creating a very mobile-friendly version of the website.

There is a daily limit, but a popup error message should show up if you've reached it. I'll investigate that. However, the thread you linked me to only has received votes, no reputation.

You should be able to see your own site's backlinks with Google Webmaster Tools (google.com/webmasters)

I get the whole photo thing, but I guess it's true that human nature is intrigued by people in turmoil. It's why everyone loves bad reality shows, court shows, and I love COPS and prison shows. LOL

Yes, this is all directly related to Google PageRank, or PR. PR is determined via a complicated algorithm which apparently highly regards incoming links (or backlinks). The idea is that if a lot of sites link to a particular page, that page must have good content.

Do you think large tag clouds on a page can be considered keyword stuffing? Even if they are valuable to the end-users?

I can't understand why jquery.js is needed on line 17, since it alredy exists on line 1. Additionally, as tinymark stated, just create one document.ready function and put lines 28, 31, 35 and 38 into it. While you're at it, lines 11 and 14 too.

I'm confused by what you mean that you can't browse Web Development. What happens when you click on Web Development in the top navigation menu? What do you mean by 'hanged by firewall'??

I think that the distinction between what falls under Software Development and what falls under Web Development are "most popular use" cases. There is sooo much crossover nowadays, as the same technologies are being used for both web and non-web based applications, that it's often indistinguishable.

Well they're not entirely separate things because you cannot give reputation without up/downvoting. Basically, you can up or down vote. And then, if you want your vote to affect someone's reputation, it's an "advanced feature" of voting.
