Re: I would figure so long as it's consistent in your program, and you're not using a "reserved word" for your language, you'll be in good shape.
Re: [url]http://www.lowendmac.com[/url] Check their hardware profiles. They have pretty much every Mac ever made, and some clones. Not only that, but in each profile they have a link to the machine's actual profile on [url]www.apple.com[/url].
Re: When are the files regenerated? Immediately? At system startup? You might be able to go into the registry using those keys provided in the link you gave us, and delete them. Then, try deleting the files manually from the locations specified in the same link. Sometimes, antivirus programs can't "Fix" …
[QUOTE=Catweazle]Higher rated RAM almost always 'works' with motherboards which are specified to 'work' with lower rated modules. It will simply be operated at the lower speed, which is what you want anyway! You should never really run your RAM at higher speeds than that required to 'synchronise' with the front …
Re: If there are answers to people's questions, they'll be posted beneath the thread, like this reply I'm posting.
Re: Well, it really depends. If you were into running Linux, there's a whole wealth of tools that can be downloaded for free. What specifically are you looking to program in? Others might be able to suggest something for Windows/Mac environments.
Re: Couldn't you just use the [b]diff[/b] program under Linux/UNIX that already exists? It does that, and it does it well. I mean, that'd be a very efficient way to go about it, unless you absolutely needed to write your own implementation.
Re: [QUOTE=nanosani]just go to your command prompt and type "cd.." and then again "cd.."( without inverted comas) until you get your c drive alone.[/QUOTE] Or, even more simply... if you're at [b]c:\Documents and settings\User\My Documents[/b], or some really long path, you can simply type [b]cd \[/b] and that will take you …
Re: Well, gee. For once, Google's no help. I tried searching, and this is the only thread that came up!!! :o
Re: Have you tried to get rid of that stuff through Safe Mode? Try hitting <F8> when your computer boots, and go into Safe Mode, then try getting rid of that stuff. Also, try checking out the Bridge.dll thread that's listed in my sig for more information.
Re: Now closing this thread. Please keep the discussion going in the same thread as before. If you need me to merge these two threads, please let me know.
Re: Where'd you find it on the system? What are the creation and modification dates on the file? All I know is that I couldn't find anything through a Google search.
Re: This is in the wrong forum... What OS is this? Please let us know, and one of the mods will move this to the appropriate forum.
Re: you could write a batch script to do it, if you wanted to. Just open a file, write in the path to each file, like this : [code] start c:\program files\Microsoft Office\word.exe [/code] Then, you could put all of them in one file, name the file with a [b].bat[/b] extension, …
Re: In the future, we don't need to know how URGENT your request is. Urgency should ideally be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis: If you posted before someone else, you should get precedence before that other person. Further, it's simply rude to imply that your question is more important than …
Re: [QUOTE=Catweazle]Dell tech support told you wrong! You can run that PC with only one module installed, and it simply needs to be in memory slot 1. You'll most likely find that the slot numbers are printed on the board beside the slots ;) Edit: oops, sorry. If that Dimension uses …
Re: [QUOTE=wonnydonny]I have to write a program that reads in from a data file. Then, it is supposed to pick out the words of a certain length. Once it finds these words, it places the words in two lists. One lists contains the words and the number of occurrences sorted alphabetically, …
Re: [QUOTE=Chainsaw]Hee hee hee - I'm surprised she didn't offer to share a large lottery winning with us if only she could get $8,000 to go over to Nigeria and collect it! Seriously, she may be legit, but my parents weren't rich either and what did I do? I went to …
Re: Why not just take the source code for the Linux [b]ls[/b] command, and hack it to your liking, so that it automatically includes those options? Then, you could compile it, rename it, and use it as you wish. I haven't looked at the source, but I imagine each of those …
Re: Can you do us a favor? In the future, when posting [b]any[/b] code, especially such large snippets, please put it in vB code tags, for the sake of readibility. Thanks!
Re: Seriously, it's called double posting, and it's not encouraged in this forum at all. Closing this thread; please continue conversation in the thread already created.
Re: what happens if you type in [b]ls -a /etc/[/b] at that prompt? If there's no master.passwd in there, you've got a little bit of an issue, and you might need to reinstall OS X.
Re: Eww... clicking? Try a forum search about putting your hard drive in a freezer. DMR and someone else posted some stuff about this, and some have reported success in temporarily resurrecting "dead" drives. Heck, since the drive's dead, it wouldn't hurt to at least try.
Re: My thing about the "latest greatest" has always been that the last gen stuff isn't going to go anywhere. Look at how healthy of a market there still is for N64 and PS1 stuff-- you can find it EVERYWHERE, nearly, and it's only getting cheaper. ...And it's not like production …
Re: We don't write your code for you-- we're here to help you learn. Please at least attempt to write something, and meanwhile, we might be able to give you some pointers. Also, posting your email address for us to send you the output is also counterproductive to the goal of …
Re: You're not ever going to want to burn more than one disc at the same time. Reason being, the IDE channel is really taxed throwing all of that data back and forth. Without an IDE controller card, your setup would be like this: [list] [*] Primary Master: Hard drive [*] …
Re: What's "wrong" with it? Is it producing results you didn't expect? Is the compiler throwing out errors or something? Let us know what you expect to happen, and what you're actually getting. That way, we can more accurately help you out.
Re: Probably start by opening a book, and getting the formula for a pythagorean triple, I'd guess. Try to find that, write something based off of it, and we'll help you work it out. We're not going to write the program for you.
Re: Now marking thread as Solved. If this actually did not solve the issue, contact a moderator via PM, and we'll un-mark it for you.
Re: Went ahead and merged these two threads together. In the future, please keep all questions that relate to one another in the same thread. Thanks!

Re: Now, before this thread goes any further, let me say something: Things haven't gotten out of hand or anything, but remember to stay civil. Politics can be touchy, and some people have a tendancy to get ugly over these things. Let's keep at heart we're all one, nice, happy community, …
Re: Those contests are lame. Get your forum posts up there by advertising, and giving people reasons other than bribes to come into your site. More than likely, what they've done is invited themselves numerous times to Gmail, giving them multiple accounts, and basically farm Gmail accounts for invites. That's kind …
wow... how long have I been here? Doesn't seem long enough to have 1000 posts... Better start spamming the forum so I can get up to 2000 real quick! :D
Re: [QUOTE=lol-a-lot]just read what i wrote in "(about::blank, search for...)firsttimeposter" it is a simple workaround that i know many people wouldnt mind using[/QUOTE] As was responded in that other thread, you suggestion of using FireFox is a good one to not have to deal with this stuff, but you still need …
Re: [QUOTE=Catweazle]No. Never has been, never will be. The technologies and internal architecture of the processors are entirely different. A motherboard which did that would really be TWO motherboards![/QUOTE] Actually, I thought that initially, AMD was pin-compatible with Intel. That was WAY back in the day, though, and I've even forgotten …
Re: [QUOTE=stevosmyth22][COLOR=Yellow] i am just looking for any general ideas[/COLOR]. [/QUOTE] I went ahead and changed the color of your text to something more readable. This phrase is SUPER important around here... wouldn't want your thread getting closed, or anything...

Re: Have you tried Acrobat 5.0 yet? What type of forms are they? I assume that 98SE has some feature that 98 does not implement, hence the need for SE. Is there any way you can simply locate an upgrade disk for Windows 98SE? (legally, of course)
Re: Um... probably so. More, faster memory, and a faster processor will almost always give you greater FPS in a game. You didn't tell us what motherboard you were upgrading to, though. Have you given that a thought, because you can't stick an AMD chip in a board made for an …
Re: You might be better served by picking up a PCMCIA Network card for that laptop, if at all possible. Why? Several reasons: Firstly, a modem will be SLOW-- you'll be sitting for hours if you've even got more than 20 MB of data to transfer. Secondly, you need both machines …
Re: Hey there! Welcome to TechTalk Forums! You might want to ask your question in a different forum, like Windows 9x/ME, or Windows Software. The Geek's Lounge is usually reserved for off-topic chit-chat.
Re: Did you mean to have an i[b]l[/b] and and i[b]1[/b]? I'm no C++ guru or anything, but it doesn't look like you ever declared i1 -- that's all.
Re: Probably the first place to start would be to find the formulas for the surface area and volume of a rectangle. Then, express those formulas in terms of whatever programming language you're using.
Re: Yes, we don't do your "projects" for you. Please write some code yourself, and then we'll help you troubleshoot it.

Re: Again, like I mentioned in the other post, please change your font, and stop using ALL CAPS. That choice of font, and the usage of all caps is almost nauseating.
Re: Please choose a different name for your thread titles in the future. "Help Needed Urgently With Coding" tells us nothing specific about what you need ( I mean, you've posted in a Coding forum, obviously you need coding help). Additionally, stating you need help "Urgently" is rude. It is rude … |
