You need to put the original cpu back in, then download that BIOS version you listed and then flash the BIOS to the 1004 one. Once done, exchange the cpu again and it should work. Flashing the BIOS can turn your PC into a paperweight. Just saying.

Heatsinks are only of real value when using performance RAM. Unless you are going to overvolt and overclock the RAM, there is no real need for heatsinks. Double sided thermal tape is what is needed if you do decide to install them though.

7200 is the speed. The 5400rpm ones are usually found in laptops and 'green' hard drives. The second one you posted is for a laptop.

Where one can increase the core frequency of the processor which in turn increases the speed at which it processes. There are no 'leaves' in Hyper-Threading :). Hyper-Threading is where the Intel Processor is able to have like 'virtual' cores alongside the actual cores.
