Sorry but this need complex solution and you will not learn in 1-2 weeks. You better ask some company and have to pay for it or do another post that you are looking for somebody who can do this sort of work for free( for funn or school project) or other exchange (small amount of money, etc)

Very true but you could just use some forum scripts and get(pay) someone to change them to make them do what you want rather than asking them to do it all themselves.

I think what software they use is important and it is very important that they know how to make your site easier to use.

Just and idea:

Show them your site, leave them for five minutes and tell them to look at it and decide five things they would change to make it look better and easier for the user. I think this will give you a good idea of how good they are and what they are capable of doing because they are unlinkely to say somehting they can't do!

But as I said that's just an idea, maybe it is a bit harsh on the Web Designer but they want to work for you!

This counter program site is great, you get:
>loads of different styles of counter that can be changed on the webstat site.
>An account with them that lets you have upto 10 different sites and gives loads of stats about your site.
>A easy to follow tutorial on how to put one on to your site.

It really is great!!!

Click here to go to the Webstats site.

I hope you find this useful.

I think PDAs are great gadgets to have, especially if you are away from the desk alot. But it can be quite expensive to get a good one.

Hi all,

I have a very serious problem with Norton AntiVirus 2005.

According to the Norton Website it is to do with my Creative Audigy sound card. It is to do with a piece of software that came with that that starts up when windows starts(I thinks it's the volume control). I have tried both Nortons manual fix and automatic fix several times, this fixes it for a few days but then stops working again. By stops working I mean it shows a red cross of the Norton logo in my task bar and when you hoover over it, it states that 'Norton Antivirus Auto-protect is disabled'. You can then right click on it and turn it off, but this doesn't normally work. You can then open the program and it will sometimes decide to turn back on. But it then normally goes off within the next half an hour.

I have also reinstalled Norton 2 times with no luck and I definately have the up to date version.

Please can somebody tell me what to do. I would also be interested to know if anybody else has had this problem.

I am quite annoyed as you may be able to tell because I have payed for a years subscription and it has so far not worked a whole day yet!

Please help me!!!!

Hi Guys,

Does Outlook 2003 Junk Mail filter catch email automatically or does it only catch spam that you block sender.

I realise that this could be helpful for blocking a email off a company news letter but it does not block email of the same content but coming from different senders. I get an email that comes every day at least once and comes from several different senders, these senders are different everyday. I 'block the sender' on each one, but outlook never seems to filter them into the junk-email folder.

Does outlook have a feature that will block email containing keywords or a specific content?

If it does not does anyone know of a good piece of freeware that is a GOOD spam filter.

I personally don't really like the new look, but it is still very good and easy to use. I think this one is probably nicer to use than the last one though. But I love this site though, it is one of the best sites I have ever found.

Please can you send it to my email which is rory_c[a]signetmusic.com (@ taken out for spam purposes). I would be very greatful if you could send one to me.

I think if the domains are good then it could be worth quite alot but if they aren't and nobody wants them then you won't get anything for them, please can you tell us what the domains are if you have already bought them then we could give you a realistic price.

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

The way I would do it is to crop them in an image vector program and then save them as different names then put them in your table.

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

I think flash is great for smaller sites but when things get big flash takes too long to load. For example, a rock band website, great has all the tools you need loads in a reasonable time and looks much better than a standard web site. But for something like argos or a big shopping website it would take such a long time to load.

I think flash is the future of all personal sites and smaller sites but it just hasn't got what it takes to power big sites.

You must make sure that people know exactly what your site is without reading much. No more than 10 words.

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

I think to get some more visitors you should put your site on a proper domain name not a freewebs domain. However it's a great idea and it is a nice looking site.

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

I think you could get alot more for your site if you put some stuff on it or offer to put a full website if they pay a bit more.

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

Will the first solutionstop it running at start up or stop it running all together?

Thanks for your response.

Hi all,

I am running on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and I am having a few problems. I have aCreative Audigy 2ZS sound card and I have recently bought Micorsoft Visual Studio .NET C++. My problem is that when my PC starts up it pops up to windows (it has started doing this since I put Cisual Studio on) I have attached these windows so you can have a look. The problem is with CTHelper.exe this is a piece of creative software that lets you build third party drives and apps for my sound card. I have found this on the internet here . But nowhere will tell me how to remove it! Please could somebody help me fix this problem. It does not affect the use of the soundcard or Visual Studios. But it is very annoying to have that popup every time my PC starts.

Help me please! :!:

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

If you're using XP you could got into control panel>sounds and audio devices, this should show your main sound device, if your mic is not plugged into this it is unlikely it will work. I have had the same problem. If there is no way to plug a mic into your default device then the program you are using must be set to accept the other device not your default one. There will probably be some kind mic setup in the program you are going to use, you need to go through that. This may sound silly but make sure the mic is on and that it is not muted anywhere on your PC.

Good Luck

I have downloaded Linux Debian off the web a few months ago and have just made some image disks with it on. In my download I received the OS and over 1000 Linux based programs as well. I have found a piece of software that will let me run windows programs on linux, by that I don't mean Microsoft Word I mean other programs that will run on windows.

My question to you all is should I create a dual boot system or should I get rid of XP completely and switch to Debian. Have this in mind when you are deciding: I would like to put it on a laptop that is 4 years old, built for XP, 1.2 Ghz Pentium Celeron processsor, 400+mb of ram. I just want to know whether my computer will suffer if i put two Operating Systems on it.

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

You could ask a friend to put a link to you on their site. Or even something on your homepage telling people about your forum, people may not even know you have a forum.

Thats a serious problem, the first thing I would check is the graphics card, but i see you have tried that, it may seem like a long shot but you should make sure the connections on your motherboard are fine.
Your PC may have a virus that your virus has not found so I think your last option would be to format your hard disk and start again.

I'm sure someone on the forum can give you a better answer though.

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

That's a great idea! You should try and think of something it could be used for and then you could try and sell it.

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

I would not pay for any advertisement, however I think getting sponsors for your forum or website is a very effective way of getting traffic. If you get your sponsor to link to you or maybe have a page about your forum. I think word of mouth is an extremely powerful form of advertisement! The above quote is very tru as well.^^^

roryt 150 Nearly a Posting Virtuoso

You could try webwiz forums
It is a really great forum that loads very quickly and is very easy to use as an member of admin and as a normal user.

In your post you did not say what your forum would be about, but I think the key thing about making a forum is to make one on a subject that you know plenty about and you won't get bored of. Also try not to go off this subject in your forum make sure everything is relevent to it.

More people will come back to your forum if your forum has plenty of content, so for starters make some fake users and post with them. Start some converstions going and make sure you answer any questions that are asked.

Good Luck!!

I think web design is definetily art. It takes much more skill than just a click of a button. You have to make the website for the people who will look at it, you must have a massive imagination and a skill for knowing what people want.
