This might help.

Heh, in my experience, your out of luck ;)
Well several things to consider.
1) If youre looking at a laptop, you'll have opt out of building your own. Therefore, taht leaves one of the PC builders around the country somewhere. My opinion: go with a Dell ;). They're sorta cheap, very reliable, and have good tech services.
2)
the way whats the conversions on that euro to dollar?
You mean pounds? ;)? It's $1= £.0.524611 as of now.
Is it possible theres outside interference screwing it up?
Sounds very suspicious to me. Almost like you've been hacked ;).
I would post a HJT in the Virus forum.
Thanks.
The Killers
Hmm...that's a good question. And seeing I don't know the answer...we'll wait for somebody else to post ;)
Take a look at this article and post a HJT log. Somebody heere will take a look at it.

Thanks. :)
Heh this is funny :)
And the best part is, "a purple zebra" isnt even a username ;)
Haha no problem.
Good luck with it. :)
Truthfully, IMO, I think buying the CD itself is better then iTunes. Then again, if ya don't want the entire album...
For most reputable, you're right, iTunes is always good to go with.
I don't trust those "one cent per song" either, as ya said.
You might want to try out Yahoo (I think it's yahoo), or the new Napster, where ya pay like $20 a month for an unlimited songs.
I hate to say it, but that's fatal
The black dot will just grow until the rest of the screen fades.
My apologies

also go to msconfig and diasable all startup programs.
This wouldn't do anything if the virus was hidden in teh Sys32 folder ;)
The best thing to do would be to post a HijackThis in the Virus forum, and have somebody look at it there.
and scan with escan you get a 30 day trial and its much better than macafee or norton - also try spybot and adaware there free and very good too.
Agreed for the most part. Mcafee is a very good antivirus, but like every program, it doesnt catch everything. Malware-wise, Ewido and Adaware are the best. Online scans-- Kasperiky (sp?) and Panda Active scan are the top in that cagetory.
What my point in the above post is that, no matter what spyware-protection programs ya have, they won't catch everything. Therefore, a HJT log is the best to do.
Good luck :)
A trojan is a program that allows a portal into a victim's computer through a seemingly innocent program. Once this portal is open a person could use that opening to control the users computer or advertise through pop ups and so forth.
Err..for the most part. ;) Not all trojans allow open portals into your computers. Some open portals just to other automized downloaders (hence the name, "downloader trojan") Most trojans, however, just slow down the computer overall.
There are trojans that allow access to the computer, (theryre called Remote Access Trojans, aka RATs), but they they're prettty rare.
Thanks.
Ahhhh...in that case, its perfectly ok :)
Also, if ya wanna play CD-RW in a car stereo, you're gonna need to "finish" the disk, therefore transforming it into a CD-R (in other words, you won't be able to put more files on the cd after finishing it)
Yes, fry's correct. However, most common languages are already installed. You should initially look to just changing the language of the text youre typing, and that should fix it.
Are you using a valid key? :-|
If ya are, ya probably need to call up Microsoft...
Transfered to Spyware forum ;)
Which browser are ya using? Have ya tried firefox?
Moved to dead computers forum ;)
Hmmmm, I think you should be able to, although don't take my word on it.
This might help: http://www.duxcw.com/digest/Howto/software/windows/upgrade/intro.htm
Lastly, you're still using Win 98? ;)
*passes out from the amount of security vulnerablilities in 98*
1) Have ya tried another mouse?
2) It might just be broken ;)
Thanks.
I dunno if this helps or not....
Theres a difference between a virus and a trojan. Viruses (aka worms) are built to be downloaded, replicate, and then infect somebody else. Trojans are made to only infect the person that was infected (ie, they dont spread).
Generally, trojans are made to advertise a product, ususally bombarding ya with annoying popups, etc. Viruses on the other hand are sometimes gravitated toward creating damage, not just advertisement.
Sorry if this makes no sense ;)
Thanks.
Truthfully, it sounds like a virus to me. And like most people, you have your array of Mcafee/Ewido, etc.
However, those don't catch nearly everything. SO, I would recommend ya repost in the Virus forum.
THanks.
Welcome to Daniweb :)
And good job posting in the correct forum (with the question itself) ;)
Ummm....we don't do homework for ya guys :-|
Have ya tried using Firefox ;) (in other words, the browser of champions)
I make very quick work of it however as I have a ghost image of the drive...
Very smart of ya ;)
Welcome to Daniweb :)

It seems like your wires are getting interference from one another (hence it getting worse when ya moved it).
Try testing it with Windows' built in sound recorder (start>Programs>Accessories>entertainment?)
