I'm not actually sure that this is possible, or at least possible without a lot of hassle for Dani.

I looked at the question, albeit not closely enough as it turns out, and assumed the OP must have meant KB. To be honest, Kilo never entered my mind in the context of the post title - but I do know what you mean, and agree 101%.
Not least, it cuts down the amount of spam that moderators have to deal with by a considerable amount.
Hey Shanel, welcome to the good ship DaniWeb.
Plenty of us would love a mobile app (something that makes DaniWeb usable on Android would be very cool) but as Dani says, someone has to want it enough to actually code it. AIUI the numbers just are not there from the device access perspective to make it a priority (or even just make it for that matter) on the in-house todo list.
Lenovo really isn't that bad, in fact it makes some very solid and reliable lappys in my experience. That said, I agree with Hiroshe that choosing by brand is a mistake and you should, instead, choose by model. That choice should be dependant on budget/usage/reviews.
See my reply above about where to post. Now closing this thread...
You would be better off posting in our Jobs and Resumes forum than replying to a six year old thread that was pretty much in the wring place to start with...
I keep a tablet (iPad 2) in my shoulder bag, and use it many times a day to browse the web when away from the office or home, check emails, connect to DaniWeb etc. Far better than my iPhone 5s for such things due to the larger screen (my eyesight is not so good). I also have a very good integrated case/keyboard (see my review of this here) which enables me to use the tablet for writing and research as part of my job (I'm a journalist and author).
Do I use my iPad in the office? Nah! I use a powerful laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P (Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 12GB RAM, 1TB HDD/24GB SSD Hybrid, 2GB GeForce GT 755M, Windows 8.1) coupled to a Dell ST220T Touchscreen and QPAD MK85-Pro mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX brown switches for any keyboard geeks out there. Haven't had a 'PC' for a decade or more now, no need when your lappy does everything it can do and can be taken home with you.
Will the tablet be the death of the laptop? No. I think a better analogy than the desktop PC/Laptop argument, which many may claim has been pretty much won by the laptop (just look at sales figures year on year) would be a netbook/laptop one. Many people said the netbook was the death of the laptop, and initial sales were good. However, the tablet has pretty much destroyed the netbook market.
So, the question should have been will …
Not just you, I was experiencing the same lag earlier with DW taking much longer than expected to post replies (this was mainly while sending PMs in my case) and then get back to my inbox.
[edit} seems to have improved, for me, over what it was an hour ago at least
With my practical head firmly screwed on:
Given the value of your time and the amount of it already expended, and given the fact that 2Gb thumb drives are so cheap that they are almost in christmas cracker gift territory these days, wouldn't the sensible thing be to just buy a new one and move on?
He trolled DaniWeb forums using another account, which is banned for three months as a result. The mace_windu account is also banned, permanently, as it was an attempt to get around the other account ban which is something we do not allow.
The single best way to get reputation points is to help people, participate positively in threads and answer their questions correctly. There really isn't a shortcut to better rep, it just comes naturally. Think of it as karma; rep is what the DaniWeb community gives back to those who give to it.
We look forward to getting to know you better as well...
Banana. Eat one for breakfast every day.
And, another advantage that I kind of like, is that it enables you to click on the badge of the person who endorsed you and display their profile page - so becomes a quick way of getting a handle on those people who are reading your posts. Instant community building. Nice!
Farmers raise cattle, like parents raise their children
Point of order. Most parents don't slaughter their kids for money though...
Absolutely what Jorge said. Password reuse and cross-service sharing is one of the most exploited of attack surfaces. There is some merit in the argument that the same can be applied to usernames, in an ideally secure world, but certainly passwords should never be used more than once. A secure password vault application that is properly encrypted and uses a strong/complex enough master pass phrase is your friend here. Not only will it store the unique passwords for you but most will generate unique strong/complex passwords for your services as well. Check out LastPass and 1Password for starters...
Oh, and perhaps most importantly in my case, being able to look and dress how I want. This personal freedom is more than just a vanity thing, it's something I care about deeply. I have a tattooed head/neck/hands/fingers for example. I do not own a suit or a collared shirt or a tie let alone wear any of them. What I do is important, and NOT what I look like. Try telling that to most employers. When I first started my business twenty years ago I sported a 36" long red and black dreadlocked mohawk haircut, multiple facial piercings and multiple tattoos even then, oh and was rather 'unconventional' in my fashion choice. I have not changed much, apart from dropping the metal (apart from three ear piercings) adding lots more ink and growing a beard which I now choose to wear in beaded plaits. Do I give a flying **** about what potential clients think? Erm, nope. Sure, I might lose a bit of money, but I gain in the quality of life thing as I don't have the stress of working with shallow bigots.
I fear I may be in an overly ranty mood today. :)
I have had my own business for 20 years now. My earnings have not increased by 10% annually, or even 1% for that matter. Indeed, in real terms, my earnings have dropped by considerably more than 10% over the years. That said, I'm happy running my own business, setting my own working times, determining who I do and do not work with, deciding what I am and am not happy with and, ultimately, it really isn't all about the money as far as I am concerned. Quality of life is much more important, and that is what having my own business gives me.
I have upgraded my 4S to a 5s this week and I'm very happy with it. It's much faster in operation than the 4S was running iOS7 (unsurprisingly), bigger screen estate, thinner, lighter, excellent camera, fingerprint scanner works well enough, I'm liking AirDrop, I'm liking the Lightning Connector, I could go on.
Would I have upgraded from a 5? No. But from a 4/4S I think it's something of a no-brainer if you have already invested heavily in the iPhone brand (not just financially either).
Talking of financials, I have sold the 4S already and got enough for that to mean my upgrade cost me nothing and actually made me a small profit. Yes, I'm on contract but I'm happy with that and would have stayed on contract whatever so that whole contract/sim free argument doesn't apply in my case.
PS: Why has Apple gone from upper to lower case 's' for the 5 I wonder?
Yo momma is so lame that she suggested starting a yo momma thread on DaniWeb. Oh, hold on a moment...
OK. Glad it is sorted...
Can you even buy monitors like that any more? :)
You would rather lug a £1000 PC around with you and use Skype, assuming you can find the WiFi to connect to, instead of a phone? Really? takes all sorts... ;-)
5c = way overpriced for a 'budget' smartphone that doesn't move the iPhone forward (A6 chip for example) and is horribly plastic.
5s = world's first 64-bit smartphone with the A7/M7 combo and some truly exciting tech specs.
No brainer...
Yep, same here. I've left the thread as it is valid, even though the OP is/was a pretty obvious sig spamming one.
Let's keep it pleasant, on all sides please...
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your overall post rating is 69% and you have 18 members who have uprated you compared to just 2 that have downvoted. If it keeps up, let us know and we will monitor the situation but, to be honest the anonymous nature of the post rating system (as opposed to the reputation system) makes it difficult to do much about it. Chances are you have annoyed (possibly downvoted) someone immature and they have responded by hitting the downvote button a few times. I
Dani, profanity filter posts it as scunthorpe as it sees something after the s and before the h. I'm trying not to spell it out here, but:
S C U N T H O R P E :)
I only emailed him this morning...
Dani, you may want to do the same for some others. Daniweb is currently doing the same thing that AOL did in 1996 and filtering S C U N T H O R P E as being profane, when irt is actually just a rather run down town in Lincolnshire here in the UK.
Scunthorpe! Revealing my age here, as I can recall when AOL filtered the town as being profane and prevented people joining from there :) Must have been 1995/1996 or thereabouts...
[later] Look, we do the same!!! The town is S C U N T H O R P E in Lincolnshire.
I've sent him an (off DaniWeb) email to check he's OK and let him know people are missing him.
Why now using a different account? Admins can see the IP address you know...
Just a heads up, noticing a small number of duplicate posts with the same time stamp since the changeover (only mentioning it as it's pretty rare otherwise - this is not an epidemic, just a handful of doubles) - see http://www.daniweb.com/members/1087776/Aiswarya1/posts for example.
Interestingly, I note there's also a bit of lag with the system catching up to what's happening after something is deleted: delete one of the duplicates and it still shows in the forum thread display even though I have refreshed it - for between 10 and 30 seconds. Wonder if this display lag is causing people to double post, thinking they have not successfully posted in the first place?
Dani, really loving the new look. It's freindly and welcoming, and importantly encourages contribution. For example, the 'be the first to reply' button is a great idea. I've not checked it out on the iPad yet, so may come back with a bit more negativity after that :)
At the moment, the only design downside would be the rounded/square mix. I agree with those who have already commented on this, one or the other but not both should be the order of the day. I'm all for a little anarchy, but this particular mix just leaves me reminded of the first time someone got to play with DTP software unsupervised ;)
I are agree with that :)
Welcome back! So can you put your finger on anything that prevents you staying longer, what's missing that would help make that connection?
The simple answer is: you can't. Hence why it states very clearly and in bold "This is an irreversible process. Posts will remain intact. Please make sure you don't want to unsubscribe from our emails instead" right above the 'delete membership' button...
Growing up, a girl in my neighbourhood had a thing that meant all the guys who knew her well called her a slapper. One for the brits there methinks... ;)

Welcome back, I will deal with your questions in order:
No, it is not possible. Even administrators (such as myself) cannot see who is downvoting. The system is designed to be anonymous.
You have contacted them as they, along with the administrators, read this forum. You can also flag individual posts as bad, which will bring those specific issues directly to the attention of the moderating team (flagged posts appear in a closed forum where the mods can review them and take action as necessary).
Yes, the asp.net forum is being moderated. The only time that downvotes would be considerded a moderating problem is if a member, or members, were systematically and maliciously downvoting all posts by a specific member. Members do not need to give a reason for downvoting, as it does not impact upon your reputation (to leave reputation points a member has to comment and thus reveal themselves).
Seriously, I would suggest you just ignore the downvotes and move on. There does not appear to be any campaign against you, nor any sign of malicious downvoting, as many of your recent posts remain unvoted upon.
Sorry, we do not delete posts on request. Please see the DaniWeb Terms of Service statement:
Posts contributed to the community immediately become the property of DaniWeb upon submission. Members may edit their posts for a limited time period immediately after, for the purpose of correcting spelling and grammar mistakes and accidental ommissions. After this initial period expires, posts may only be edited or deleted by DaniWeb team members, and only in cases where they do not comply with our forum rules for the purpose of making said content comply with all rules. As a discussion community, posts contributed by many members work together to form coherent discussions. Altering or deleting individual posts may have consequences that unfairly extend to other members of the community. All members are held responsible for their actions. As always, think before you permanently post something on the public Internet.
Given that MICHAEL is a student, and all the endorsing accounts which have posted are using the same IP address (which points to a CENIC ISP based in Irvine, California) it could well be that they are fellow students at the same school using the same network. Assuming that the school is based in Irvine.
Benefit of the doubt given, but agree with Mikael that is does all look more than a little fishy...
Automagically has been around for ages, I use it all the time myself and would be amazed if it was a typo.
But can you imagine if every DaniWeb member had one? Eek!
