can u tell me the name of the driver on that site? please

no ,sorry you should be able to figure that out,use you service tag on the site i posted and it will list the drivers for you laptop !
i have no way of know what ones are correct if there is more than one to choose from for anyone device ,
the ones with yellow ! are clearly marked as,network adapter / video device /or sound/audio device ,ect ect

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

went to my computer/properties /hardware/device manager there are no red or yellow mark, 1394 net adapter is there.
but other devices under the network adapter,it has yellow marks(like ethernet controller, multimedia audio contrller,PCI Device, PCI Modem, Video Controller)

1394 adapter is a firewire adapter ,
you need to go to the dell site i posted above and download and install drivers, for all the devices with the yellow marks ,like sound/video/network adapter ,motherboard chipset and so on ,if you don't know how to do this then take it to someone who does

I have a HP Pavillion ZV6000 laptop. I had to replace the keyboard. When you remove the keyboard, there is a small plastic bezel that holds the ribbon cable in place when it is inserted in the female end. I broke it while removing the old keyboard and can't find it in the parts list. Does anyone have one or know where I can find one? I am sure its not even worth the price of the stamp but nevertheless I need it. Thank you. Alan

been there done that or at least something similar,i broke the little clips off that hold down the part you mention ,i then used hot glue gun to clue it in place ,its still working after 3mnts

Taking a converter and plugging the DDR ram into this converter than then fits into your SD slot..... (Could work)
I like to experiment and discover things most people wouldnt notice :)

there has to be something in the roxio program settings /preference to stop it from being the default burning program .if not ,i would uninstall it,use regedit or a registry cleaner like ccleaner to clean it from the registry , then reinstall roxio, you should be asked about file association ,if so deselect all listed if they are checked off ! this worked for me with Nero ,haven't used Roxio though in about 8 yrs

HI guys

Can someone tell me where I can download Norton Ghost for free if possible. Or any other HD clone that is very accurate. Thanks in advance

Sittas

i don't think Chost is offered for free ,good things come to those who purchase! I don't know of any good free ones ,but others might

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

I think you may have saved some lives here with this honest and accurate advise. The original poster should do exactly as you suggest here.

thank you ,i really would not fool anymore with this monitor

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

i would think you will need to disable the onboard one first

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

spend a bunch of money for a new copy!!
even if it had a key it might not activate ,because its been used before !

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

When I turn the monitor on and it won't work, lights will appear on the sides of the screen. The light is like when you wield something in the wielding machine. The sound coming from the light is also like the sound of wielding, only lighter.

now I'm no expert ,i have only been playing with an working on computers since 1997, but i would not plug that monitor into my computer or into any wall outlet in my house .I would take it a throw it in the recycle depot

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

some computers you just have to wait for it to run,it may take longer than 10 min!

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

firefox ,doesn't work either ,so all those IE settings aren't likely the cause .
try this !
1. Click the Start menu button on the Windows taskbar.

2. Click Run... on this menu.

3. If the computer is holding a current IP address, type 'cmd' (without the quotes) in the text box that appears. A command prompt window appears on the screen.

4. Type 'ipconfig' (without the quotes) to view the status of the computer's IP address(es).

5. If the computer is holding a current IP address, type 'ipconfig /release' to let go of the address.

6. Type 'ipconfig /renew' to obtain a new IP address (whether or not the computer is holding a current address).

Theres no way i can purchase server space from a company and install a windows app on it?

if that is a question and not a statement ,sorry i 'm not sure if that is possible .

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

Don't worry. After one week of late nights, I have begun to learn (the hard way) about partitioning and my W2000Pro is now working well.

This particular problem is resolved, but in the future I'm not sure how to allocate space if I want to introduce a new application in Windows with either another Windows application or Linux (eg. DSL or Ubuntu)....

if you harddrive is big enough for this ,you should have created a few partitions when installing win2000,you can now use a 3rd party program like partition magic or some other there are many

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

you should l find you windows firewall settings in control panel, assuming you are not using a 3 party firewall

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

do you have this file, if so attach it here .
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini110908-01.dmp

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

its been my experience thats its best left at fat,and if its telling you to format it when you try to open it ,like any drive it usually means there is something wrong with it , have you tried dragging and dropping a mp3 file onto its icon to see it will copy to the player

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

if it doesn't work when connected to another computer ,its weird I know but monitors do fail, that's when we have to buy a new one

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

let me make it more simpler.

I want to know if there is any company or service out there that would install windows xp on a server so that I can run regular apps on that server.

any computer can be used as a server ,all it means is you use it only for that purpose! i assume you have the regular apps you talk about .have a read here .mind you i know nothing about any of this ,just a google search result .
http://www.google.ca/search?q=setting+up+a+server&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I have an app that I want to keep connected to the internet but, I turn my computer off when I'm not using it.

you would be the next Bill Gates if you can figure that one out ! running apps with the computer turned off! sounds like a winner to me !

yeah ,and why you hollering now ,before you were just thinking out loud ! i have 2 questions,
1= have you ever taking a computer apart and seen a motherboard .2= where do you thing the extra 56 Leads are going to connect to ,even if it was possible for you to solder the joints

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

What if you change the input unit IN YOUR COMPUTER to accomadate 200 pins instead of 144?? (Take one from an DDR TOWER and put it in yours)

I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work then.......

Just thinking out loud here :)

I bought a Compaq 283983-001 Intel 845 Socket 478 mATX MB w/VID SND & LAN motherboard to replace an eMachine board. I have all connected except the HDD LED, POWER SWITCH and the POWER LED leads. Nothing came with the board, no software, no instructions nothing just the board. Where and what pins do I conect these leads too.??

No screening names for the above are printed on the board either, everything else was printed plainly.

Talons06

not sure about this board ,but if it like other compaq boards i have seen the power sw is usually the two pins closest to the single pin, usually there are 2 rows of pins, 5 pins in one row and 4 in the other.this will at lease get it so you can turn it on

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

try this one ,from the previous like i posted .use the All-in-Wonder® PRO and Rage PRO. one, see if it works
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/legacy-xp.html

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

OK< well it is a driver problem then.

Download the driver here, install it, reboot, and then you shouldn't have any problems.

i tried that link last time[found it in google search] and it will not download for me and the mirror site is the one i posted above ,to amd ,who has bought out ATI.
