Linux do this thing called ndiswrapper i think where you can get windows drivers to work with Linux

Is there another program that does that to xp to vista because i bought a full copy of windows vista ultimate and i wont work with my display drivers and my sound drivers and im such a noob for not checking

did you check with the manufacture of both devices to see if they had updated drivers for Vista

I had this happen on a number of fresh installs ,not sure how it fixed itself but it do each time ,just keep doing the install updates ,and i believe it will correct itself!!

if you have axcess to another computer you could install the drive in it as slave and remove you data to the drive in the other computer to be reinstall after you format.also some recovery's give the option to do a nondestructive recovery

Both of those things sound like something that could be wrong. I guess the best way to know for sure would be to bring it to a computer repair place, then.

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.if so post it ,and i certainly would not buy a new computer because of a bad cpu fan ,and i don't think that is your problem,more likely a device/driver conflict ,

I suggest you boot to the winxp cd and run R ,for repair .and do the following .
To run chkdsk...
1) Insert WinXP CD
2) Click "R" when prompted to (so you can go into recovery console)
3) Type in Chkdsk c: /f /r
4) Once completed, type in exit and remove Windows CD.

Every time it starts up the blue screen pops up saying one of your disks needs to be checked for concsitancy...and so on.

Does it do the chkdsk ,if so,dose it say it fixes anything.
if it doesn't do the chkdsk,then boot computer with you winxp cd in the drive and go to recovery,click on R for repair ,at the prompt type in, chkdsk /f ,and see if that helps .

I have now changed the master drive to NTFS.

Unfortunately, I still cannot access a folder in documents and settings, it tells me that access is denied
I have tried to drag it to the shared documents folder, but I also get an error message telling me " Cannot creat or replace Dxxx : Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not curent in use. "

Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions ,just a comment.i run into this when i have other people hdd with multiple users connected to my computer try to retrieve files,i get the error only on the users that had been password protected ,and tried ,right click on the folder and take ownership,as suggested here in another post ,to no avail! sorry

hello, not automatically,but you can set ie to empty temp internet file when you close the browser ,go IE ,open tools/internet options /advanced/scroll down to browsing ,and check box to delete temp files when you close ie ,or something like that ,

actually i was going to suggest safemode at first post ,just wasn't sure it would install ,LOL,

Format and reload ,If you have a legit full copy of xp home and laptop has xp home key ,format and use your xp cd and laptops key .

agree AVG anti spyware ,but also the the above mention program that you use are spyware removal tools[after the fact ] not spyware prevention tools ,as is AVG

Not sure what command line you mean .i downloaded the extension,grabbed a video from youtube.com,changed the files extension to .flv and converted it to dvd ntsf format with out any problem on my end .

looks like toolband.dll is spyware related IE toolbar redirect.i would suggest .Spybot search and destroy ,run and scan and remove what it finds.

I have several saved links on my desktop since theyre easier to get to than scrolling through my rather large favorites list. When I open one of the links from the desktop, the link opens in an existing window which is what I do not want or need.

i,ve use the wixp key off of a older ibm laptop,used it on a amd 2800+ computer tower i built from a missmatch box of parts, some new some old ,and it activated with out problems,still in used now after about 4mnts.
