The Dell driver worked. Thanks.
your welcome
yeah ,firefox can be funny like that
Yes, that was the first thing that I tried before resorting to ATI or even third party sources. When I try to download the driver, it instead forces me to install a "Dell Driver Download Manager". Once that's done, it instructs me to add the drivers that I want to my list, which I have done, BUT it won't recognize that they are there, and I've yet to find a work around on that site. Could it be that the download manager is not liking 7 for some reason? Is there another source for that particular driver?
i chose vista as os ,go to the video link at the bottom open it and click on download for ati driver and it gave me an option download mager or download with browser ,so i chose browser over download manager and it downloaded for me
hi Dell site for your model laptop shows lates driver for Vista 32 bit as 5/21/07 - 8.36-070314a have you tried that
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WLH&catid=-1&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400%2FE1505&hidos=WW1&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False
Related question...I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 which I found has a Mobility Radeon™ X1300 video card (based on the service tag). According to every source that I've found on the matter, including the Dell and Windows 7 websites themselves, the 1XXX series is no longer supported, including for Windows 7. So, my question is...Will there likely be a driver released to enable full compatibility with Windows 7 at some point in the near future by an independent source (or, for some reason, Dell or Microsoft), or am I just going to have to live with the crappy resolution that I have to deal with right now?
As a side note, I also found that some Vista drivers are said to be fully compatible with Windows 7, but I have the most recent version for my adapter. That must be for supported adapters, though, right?
Thanks for your help.
so you have the latest vista driver install on win7 ,correct ,did you right click on the desktop ,chose screen resolution/advanced settings/monitor ,check the refresh rate ,what is it showing ,maybe it need to be adjusted up or down

hi,no standard vga graphics is what vista is using ,you need to find out what video adaper you have and install the drivers for it.
go to deel.com and use you service tag #,should be on you computer case somewhere ,you should find video controller drivers that way
I have a Compaq Presario v2000, sn CNF55116NW , Model EP378UA#ABA. My AC adapter connector end, the end that connects to the PC, melted the yellow insert in the connector. I noticed that I can run the laptop with the battery out and the AC plugged in and there is very little heat. However if I put the battery back in and it begins to charge after about 15 or 20% of charging the end gets hot and after about 40 or 50% the end is extremely hot. I know that when the PC is in use and if the battery is charging and the PC is being used the AC adapter will heat up but to have the connector end to melt the yellow insert appears to be way too hot. When the battery reached full charge the connector cooled off but when I pulled the connector end out of the PC it was stuck, hence the melted insert. The battery ran the PC OK and the charge dissipated about 15% in about 20 to 25 minutes. Could my battery be bad or is it the motherboard?
Thanks Stan

do they have the motherboard manual,it would say what card it could take ,emachine site doesn't give any specs or manual download
i will assume because they gave it to you fix ,you are trying right type of card ,like pci-e or agp,you could also try a regular old 8 or 16 meg pci card just to troubleshoot
"saying something about memory dump I believe"
the most important part of troubleshooting you problem was all the numbers and error message on the bsod ,not the memory dump.
you harddrive may have died if the bios no longer sees it ,
-Go to Repair in the options Windows menu
.
hi, my link will actually tell you what commands to type in ,ty
What kind of processor do you have? You have to match up the windows bit set to that of your processor.

Hey there I have a Toshiba M305 s49052 and I want to change the OS to XP due to a virus. This virus is blocking my net access. The problem that I am having is that when I run the Windows xp OS disc, I get a stop error after the disc loads all the funny stuff and is heading to the section where I would format the hard drive. Any suggestions?
so you are posting in the Vista forum ,so i will assume you have vista and are changing back to xp, the laptop is fairly new so i will also assume your problem is SATA harddrive problem ,xp does not have sata drivers in it by default so you would need to create a new xp install disk slipstreaming the SATA drivers into [good program to use is nlite] you need to acquire the driver from Toshiba .also there might be a setting in the laptops BIOS to change a setting from sata mode to ata mode not sure where in there but give a look for it ,,it might be easier to either just to reinstall Vista or go to our spyware ,virues and other nasties section to get help removing the virus

hi is it only when using internet releated software when this happens or is it for all of your computers tasks and programs ,celeron 1000 in my opinion is to outdated for today's Internet !also how much ram do you have
I used to store software on!!!
No,if you mean you installed the programs on to this drive ,yes if you mean you just used it for storage of the software
sounds like a good drive ,and you could have posted the link to where you bought it
the big chain store would be my only source. Not sure that's a good idea.
if the model is a good one the price is right big box store are ok, I guess
to make sure computer doesn't reboot on bsod ,right clcik on mycomputer go properties/advanced /startup and recovery/system settings , and uncheck automatic restart
when inside the computer case make sure to un-plug it from the wall power source [should have mention this before ]
i suggest you remove hard drive and taking it with you when you go to buy one ,only 4 screws + the cables to do so ,usually 2 screws on either side ,you will need to remove other side of the case to get at the other 2 , or just take the tower to comp repair shop and have one installed .
it sounds like it a ATA 160 gig, i think the info is on that big sticker on the front of the tower
Aha.
Hopefully someone will be able to identify the correct one..Kind regards,
-Smitty.
double click on a few and see what info they give you ,only way to identify them is to open them
actually your quess is as good as mine ,
Anyone else !
I did not know which error was the right one so I just took a picture of them all.
I attached them to this post. Tell me what you think.Kind regards,
-Smitty.
49th one from the top ,LOL
I kept getting a message that said my virtual memory was low after about 2 hours after I attached the usb.?
virtual memory is setup by windows on the hardrive for the cpu to use when all the ram memory is being used ,virtuall memory is slower than Ram so for best results you really don't want to get into useing virtuall memory ,so increasing the amount of ram is best fix for this error ,
,the error message can be stopped by increasing the size of the virtual memory windows uses ,windows usually set this itself, but the size can be increased manually ,it may also indicate the hardrive is getting full
Ok, with the white plug off the hard drive and the pc started I get a screen with a blinking cursor.
so that means it went past the big E screen and is blinking because it cant find the harddrive ,the wide gray one is data transfer cable ,remove it from the harddrive and the end going to the motherboard ,and plug it back in ,just to make sure its getting a good connection.
plug power back into hard drive and boot again
Now's where it's going to get tricky. I can make them work, but I don't know what makes them work.
I've never opened a computer in my life. But I'm a willing learner. Is there a diagram here somewhere or is it pretty simple? I've seen it done and know it is, I'm just a bit timid.
I did unplug everything from the computer tonight and try to reboot and I also unplugged it from the wall and rebooted.
I knew I shouldn't have bought that usb when I did it. Dumb move. I've already trashed it.
opening is easy should be 2 screws on the right hand side when looking from the back and side cover should just slide off with a bull towards the back ,all are different of course !
did you have any problem with the usb device when you first installed it .
open side case
http://www.helpwithpcs.com/upgrading/remove-case-covers.htm
I took everything extra off of it first thing. Just left keyboard and mouse. I've always kept it pretty dust free but I'll do as you suggest, too.
The fans sound as though they are turning really well, and I haven't noticed any difference in noise or pitch.
Could the usb have caused any problems? It's a new acquisition and I (unwisely, I'm sure) didn't spend much on it and it's from overseas. It's only been on a week.
I just have a horrible feeling the hard drive is gone and I don't understand how. It was running so well after the restore.
Thank you for your advice.
ok, open box and unplug hard drive ,see if it goes past the bios screen to another message like missing OS, also remove keyboard and mouse ,they can cause it to lock up,
not sure if usb device caused it ,shouldn't ,
notice you buy cheap ,[ overseas usb, E-machine ]cheap always leads to problems in my opinion ,
Hello, type this into run to open event viewer ,go to system it should show error ,it should give the bsod error numbers ,
type into run eventvwr.msc
Hi, first thing i would do is open the box ,and make sure all fans and
heat sync's are clear of dust ! also remove the external harddrive and the new usb hub and try booting
i just installed safari on my compaq v2000 ,over 3 yrs old with ati radeon 200m video device and its there and works for me,
a workaround for you might be to go to the toolbar to the far right top ,click on the icon that looks like a cough wheel and go to customize toolbar and drag the top site icon onto the tool bar, drop it on the very top of the toolbar next to the wheel icon
any error indication in event viewer !
you can do a thing.
JUST DOWNLOAD A PROGRAM CALLED Partition MagicDownload link:
www.soft32.com/download_151.html
www.topshareware.com/Partition-Magic-download-41280.htm
what for! he has the drive partitioned and formatted ,partition magic will not add it to the sent to dropdown
think board or likely the drive.
whatdid you use to blow it out ! a high pressure hose -lol
unit was running till opened to blow out.
you shut it down first correct!
shut it down ,remove power plug ,remove and reseat ram chips
you need to add it to the send to drop down list .
here is how i did it !
go to mycomputer ,right click on the slave drive and click to create short cut ,save it to your desktop, then you make sure you have show all files set ,in mycomputer go to tools /folder options /view ,and check off show all file and folders ,then open start/ Run box .
Type %userprofile% and hit enter
In the folder that opens you should be able to see a folder called "sendto, open it and copy and past the shortcut to the slave you created on the desk top .it should now appear in the drop down list
i think ibm is f2 maybe/ for bios or boot menu
Dell had me use the original cds that came with the computer.
as would we ! had we known you had them, good luck
Not HDD drivers or other are the problem(if the SATA drva re the problem will get error "no HDD found"). This it's happening after install or in time of installation? If it's after, try to format and install again; if it's in time of, try on other version of windows and send them a email.
your right missed that ,
did you format the drive with the windows oem disk !
Am I supposed to put in the drivers when the installation gets to where I would hit the F6 button? If so then where do I get them and how do I get them into the mix?
Thanks,
Harold
sounds like you need sata drivers ,should be able to find them on dell site using the service tag, you will need to use a floppy drive to install them ,using the f6 on install, if no flloppy ,get one or use a program like nLite to created a slipstream disk with the drivers
Hello guys very useful reply from u guys it was very informative.

Webshop system
I'm sure Suspishio will be please you approve !
and no im not going to click on the link in your signature !lol
hello, have you seen this? not the program he offers to download, but a comment from adam, 4th post, the registry edit thing. it worked for me :3
why not just copy ,past what adam wrote.
ADAM=You don't actually need to install this app everybody keeps downloading.... All you need to do is change a registry value.
After hours of messing around with RegEdit + Yahoo Messenger + Microsoft's Virtual PC I've found the problem and a solution to why apps like Msn Messenger suddenly can't remember their passwords anymore.
When Yahoo toolbar gets installed it sets the following registry value:
[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-796845957-926492609-725345543-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]
AppData = %AppData%
The problem here is AppData should actually be the following
AppData = %USERPROFILE%\Application Data
So when MSN or other apps that use that registry key go to save their data it gets lost.
So the solution is simple, run regedit and go to
[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-796845957-926492609-725345543-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]
and set the value AppData to a data value of %USERPROFILE%\Application Data
try turning monitor on after you turn on the tower
do you have the plugin for firefox installed ,if so it maybe a problem with it .
this link has info about the plugin ,and a link to a site to type in english and comes out in Aribic and copy and paste the aribic to where you want it .

Hi, Yes, but you can not reduce the sensitivity of the mouse. I need to reduce it not the speed or the double click speed. Thanks anyway.
same thing in my opinion !is it a usb or ps/2 mouse is it optical or old ball type ,is it wired or wireless.
explain this comment in you first post "When I click on anything it may be a double or triple click"
using the mouse settings in control panel, you can turn down the double click speed ,and the pointer speed
