anyone can recommend some useful tools (free if any), which can help find out for example when an application is being run in Windows, how much CPU, RAM and other resources are being used (i know the task manager provides something like this but want something with more details if any), and also update these performance values in real time.

I have a 48.8GB partition, which am backing up using Paragon free edition, and as such, I get the size in use as 33.9GB and backup size as 22.8GB.
I want to know:

1. Does it backup the whole partition or only the 'in-use' part?
2. How can I get the compression ratio or percentage from the above data?

PS. title should read Paragon (instead of aragon)

else backup the bookmarks in firefox (Bookamrks -> Show All Bookmarks) -> (Library->Import and Backup button -> Export html, in window opened) , which will generate an html file to store on your hard-disk. then, open chrome, open the bookmark manager, click on Organise -> import bookmarks, and find the saved html file to import.

Not sure concerning the processes, the lad may have an antivirus kit loading, and I know some antivirus which start scanning as soon as you logon, in the background. But could also be a hardware problem somewhere like you mentioned, a heavily fragmented hard-disk
Am on Windows 7 for a long time on a Pentium D and no BSOD or any crash for nearly 8 months now, so it could be a hardware incompatibility issue, or in case of overclock, reset the bios to default to see how the system behaves

you can try get a tool like CCleaner to clean the registry for redundant entries
Check also the startup folder to see if a startup shortcut for this prog exist there

check also background processes running in the task manager, some can be closed to speed up the system, like wise for some services running, and also check virtual memory settings as well
btw 4GB is more than required to run xp, so i dnt think its a memory problem, but still run the test as suggested by gerbil if needed

Could be you have installed many apps on the system, and as such many processes are running in the background, thus the cause for the delay to load
However, IE6 is no longer recommended, upgrade it to 8 or continue with Chrome or Firefox

I used to do flash as well, but not too much these days, am more on javascript, due to the mentioned support problem on new devices like ipad and iphone. I believe with the introduction of html5, flash is phasing out as well

Usually you just need to connect your monitor's vga cable to the laptop vga port and you could download and install an additional tool like Ultramon for dual monitor purposes

Am currently implementing a web form in html, and at first I was thinking to submit it to paypal for processing payments, however now my client wants to be able to use credit card and bank transfer (direct debit I suppose), How can I do this, or does submitting the form to paypal also permit the user there to choose for different payment options? Am new to paypal and not so familiar with the way it works, was basing myself on existing examples of html forms with paypal to develop mine

However, I've used the google meta code previously, never got a content="---.html", it was only a genereated code without the .html extension in it, but my site was in drupal, may be it differs for others
