Hello, I have a PC at the office, which was by default a Windows 8 Pro OEM licensed one (not 8.1), but for some unknown reasons, it was downgraded to Windows 7 Pro, which is again showing "OEM" in the activation Product ID. I would like to format and perform a clean install of Windows 10 Pro (v. 1803) on the PC, and use the existing Windows 8 Pro OEM key to activate it after install. I would like to get a second opinion before doing so, knowing that the PC did not receive any of the Windows 10 free …

vb.net 2010 Windows Pro 7 ## Create a Video Library with an Embedded Windows Media Player ## I have close to 400 video clips in my home movie library. In order to quickly locate any given video I have added certain words into the file names. Even so, locating specific files is clumsy from the Explorer window and playing a clip requires starting an external application and flipping back and forth between Explorer and the media player. That's why I decided to embed the media player directly in the application. Given a choice, I would have preferred to embed [vlc …

I am using an ASUS H110-E/M.2 motherboard on my desktop with an ADATA SX6000 120GB M.2 drive installed as a system disk, with a 1TB Hard Drive as a storage disk. The system has worked fine for several months, but recently I installed an optical drive and moved my machine between apartments, and now I am having difficulty booting into Windows. It started after the move, and I reset the BIOS settings to default whiched fixed the issue. The next day it booted into the BIOS again, and resetting the BIOS settings didn't work, so I reseated the drive and …

I have been experiencing a load last solution loaded problem with VS2017 where it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn.t. Mostly it doesn't. After much research it that are a couple of things that can trigger this, but I can't verify it. I think it is a BUG intorduced by Microsoft. VS2010 nevehjad tyhis p[roblem, nor VS2015. Here's what I discovered: 1. If you don't make any changes to your project it won't automatically re-load it the next time, even thiough you told it to, requiring you to manually ask it to load. 2. Today I tried to install the Windows 10 Fall Creator's Update. It failed with the message ![2017-10-18_161217.png](/attachments/large/3/837de23baab769b190bf69bbceed71ee.png "align-center") I found this peculiar because I don't have that application installed. I **do** have Macrium Reflect (Free) version 6 but certainly not Drive Image 7 (Powerquest). As usual, clicking the Support link took me to a totally unrelated page. Has anyone else had a problem with the update? By the way, clicking the Uninstall button produced ![2017-10-18_163207.png](/attachments/large/3/1a176108f644c78ce93a763939cf7c77.png "align-center")

A while ago I had a file on my windows desktop with a lot of my email accounts that I use for very specific purposes like online forums or shopping, and each one's password. I don't know what on earth has happened but I can't find that file anywhere. I did a whole "\*.txt" search on the C: but I still didn't find it and I don't remember ever deleting it. What's a good program I could use to recover files and specifcally .txt files? Thanks.

Does anyone know how to stop this process? It sits in Windows8_OS/Windows/System32/SleepStudy and builds multiple .ETL files in a ScreenOn sub folder The files can be deleted but the folders cannot.

In order to resolve a problem whereby Microsoft keeps updating my video driver (which works) with a newer version that is crippled, I installed the Windows 10 Creator's Update. So far it - Reset driver update back to auto (I had disabled it) - Re-enabled OneDrive (I had disabled that as well) - Re-installed the shitty video driver (screen rotate no longer works) - Disabled my Trend Micro anti-virus - Left me with a Windows.old folder which I am having fun trying to delete I'll post more problems as I find them.

I have an Asus laptop running Windows 10. Windows updated and took unusally long to do so. After the update, my screen just keeps flickering. I uninstalled the updates, and that did not solve the flickering. Now I receive this message on my screen, "explorer.exe. application error". I also did a system restore and that didn't stock the flickering. I cannot access anything on my laptop unless it is in safe mode. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....thank you.

well, i'm quite sure my modem is physically okey. but i guess it's the modem software what's disturbing. programme is stuck in "initializing" loop forever. i've tried reinstalling the software, updating the driver, rolling back the driver, reinstalling the driver, checked network driver, even resetting the windows. but nothing worked. as a matter of fact, this very modem is working fine in my another PC. which is also windows 10. a screen shot is given. anyone giving a solution will be treated thankfully.

Someone left a comment on one of my posts similar to, "Linux won't be popular on the Desktop until it runs Windows applications." To which I silently responded, "Huh? and, "You've got to be kidding me." We have WINE for running Windows applications and it works reasonably well for those who care to spend the time to work through any problems with it. I don't think the Linux Community needs to spend time on such an undertaking. Is anyone asking Apple to run Windows applications so that it will gain popularity? No? Then, why should Linux? If you want to …

I'm having difficulty using Robocopy. There are two things to which I want to do with Robocopy and I'm unsure whether it is possible. First create a symbolic link which links the source to the new target and second exclude a sub-folder from the source from being included in the symbolic link ? This is the command to which I attempted; it works but not in the way as described I had hoped ? "C:\<sourceFolderPath>" "C:\<folderA>" /sl /xd
