Oh sorry, that's a fault on my part, your Video Card is the Radeon, I saw nVidea and guessed it was another Video Card! :D

How much RAM do you have, and what is you Graphics Card?
This could possibly be an overheating issue, how many fans are inside your computer and what size is your CPU and your PSU?
Try removing each RAM stick one by one then put them in one by one in each slot to see if it is the RAM or the RAM slot at fault.
If memory is the problem, then your RAM sticks are bad. What you can do is find out what sort of RAM you require and buy some new RAM. The best place i have found for finding what RAM you will require is here
This will show you what your laptop currently has and what ou require to upgrade it.
Is your CD-Drive a Burning CD-Drive? You can tell by looking on the front of the CD Drive for a label showing the Compact Disc logo with "ReWritable" written underneath. If you cant see this anywhere, your
CD-Drive cannot burn CD's. To solve this you will need to purchase a new CD Drive or even consider a DVD Drive that is ReWritable.
Hope this helps.
Yeah if the CPU is gone, no more PC for you. Best option is to either upgrade your CPU chip or buy a new PC, the later being much less hastle for you.
AVG is a good anti-virus program, they ahve a free version to download which just covers viruses, but you can get a complete edition which covers spyware and other nasties. check the site:
http://free.grisoft.com/
It looks like something isn't plugged in correctly, or your PSU is a no go. How long have you had the computer?
mmmm mixed views from me i dont love it nor do i hate it.
Gordon Brown (British Prime Minister)
You can't argue with the rules.
He's not eligible because 'Arnie" isn't American.
As long as the graphics card you are looking at is the same as the slot on your motherboard then you can use any Grpahics card you like. Check wether you have AGP or a PCI-Express slot first. Otherwise go for a card that has the greatest onboard Memory.
Can i ask why do you have 2 Graphics cards?
The only need for two is if you are going to link them together or have 2 monitors run off of them. With the two different makes and models that you have joining them to work together is gunna be hard work.
As long as you don't open it when the power is on! Opening up the machine is a simple and straight forward process. As long as you don't cause static (recreate this by rubbing a balloon on your head, that is static). Static is deadly to computers, so please get yourself some anti-static gear (anti-static wristband, and a mat or two to place removed components on). Does the computer totally shut down when the no signal message appears on the monitor, or is it just the monitor keeps showing "no signal" ?
Just something to point out, you are aware that when using two different sets of RAM running at different speeds, your computer uses the lower of the two speeds, in your case 333M Hz.
In answer to your problem, clean your PC of dust and dirt and also make sure it is well ventilated, i think your problem could be overheating.
How much RAM do you have, what is your gfx card, and how old is your machine?
You could try turning off the monitor to stop this, if you dont need to be looking at the screen all the time.
Well "no signal" on a the monitor would point to either a bad connection, or that the gfx card overheats and the system shuts down. To find out what gfx card you have simply open up the side of your case and look for a card where you plug your monitor into, if this card turns out to be very big covering the entire side of your computer showing that you have motherboard graphics. Normally on the video card (gfx card) it would say who makes it and what it is. Such as: ATi Radeon X300SE, for example. While your have your computer open give it a good clean, because a large build up of dust can suffocate your computer and cause an overheating issue.
No signal to the monitor would point to the conenction between the gfx card and the monitor to be bad. Though the monitor has power going to it which is good. Are you going to be having an extended desktop setup? You have 2 gfx cards which would point out that you have 2 monitors? Am i right in thinking this?
450W should be ample for most tasks, but if you have more PCI expansion cards than usuall, (e.g. a sound card, 2 gfx cards, ethernet card, usb expansion card etc.) then you may want to look for something with over 500W.
Cough Meds is what i am now drinking :(
<cough>
Have you built this machine from scratch?
If so check that you have the power button wired up correctly.
Am i right in thinking that when you press the power button nothing appears on your monitor when the monitor is on? Do you hear any fans 'wuring' or the HDD sound? Does the monitor display a message similar to: "No signal" when you press the power button on your machine?
Basic question have you plugged it in?
If not do that!
Otherwise what are your computer specs?
Did the gfx card come with a Disc that had some drivers on it? If it did revert back to these original drivers after totally removing the ones you have at the moment. It may solve your problems.
Does this gfx card require a power cable to be attached to it? look for an open gap on the gfx card itself where one of the PCI-Express PSU connecters would fit in.
Are you getting Blue screens of death when the errors appear?
Try cleaning the conenctions on the gfx card with a pencil eraser to remove any finger prints.
Check your control panel to see if the virus corrupted the folder options section.
In there you should be able to test the speed of the double click that requires you to open folders on your PC. Also do an antivirus scan to make sure it has been totally removed.
I win? what do i win, AVG full for a year?
Have you dropped the laptop recently? Sometimes after a large impact (such as dropping it) the laser is put out of line or damaged and so the speed is reduced. Also check for spyware/Viruses that may cause CD/DVD burners grief. What is the specifications of your laptop? And what make is the DVD/CD burner in the laptop. If the problem is just the CD/DVD re-writer than consider buying a new one to replace the existing one.
How old is the laptop? It may still be in warrenty, so you can take it back and get it fixed.
Take off the space bar and see if there is any dirt/grime blocking the connections, test the small black buttons with the end of a pen to check that the space button actually types a space.
True, but my Disgo had 'advanced' features with it's own custom drivers. Also check with the manufactures website incase your memory stick has drivers avaible.
He got flashed by either a mobile police unit with a speed gun, or by a mounted speed camera that we have lots of on our A roads :(
Best place for speed in the UK is the isle of Man, no speed limits outside of towns :)
But way back in the 60's a guy went down the M1 (first motorway in britain) in a Le-Mans spec AC Cobra (British version of a Shelby Cobra) and hit like 180+ . that's why speed limits were impossed. All because of that one man we have to travel at 70mph max on the motorways.
My Verbatim required drivers to work with win 98SE , and my other memory stick (Disgo) came with a cd with drivers that had better features than the standard Windows ones.
You get a BSOD :P
I put in AVG anti-virus
Have you had it for a very long time without using it or is it brand new?
If you haven't used it in a long while (years), the internal battery may have run dry.
Also you may require drivers for this USB pen drive
What is the make of the pen drive?
Disgo, Verbatim, other?
Jail for speeding? Your prisons must be mighty empty! In the US you barely go to jail for murder because of overcrowding.
Actually our prisions are full to the point where our government is letting people out to make room! :P Ridiculous i know.
No worries, it's what we are here for :)
Too true Ancient Dragon Too true....
Wow that is fast!
A guy in england recently got arrested for doing 174mph on a motorway! Fastest speeding person to be convicted. He got jailed for 10 Weeks after doing it in his Porsche. :P
Try the detect new hardware in the Control Panel.
Also what OS are you running? Some pen-drives that run on win98 require drivers to fully work.
You end up with some fixings
I put in some coal
Seek expert advice is my view on it.
Yep, if it smoking, leave the room immediatly and open a window. (Very rare that this happens but it can).
Otherwise look for stains on the mobo around the capacitors this is where the liquid compound could have leaked out and damaged the wires/resistors/other componets casuing your machine more grief.
How far do you get in the booting phase? As in what you see on screen.
What are your computer specs please.
List what RAM you have, CPU, PSU, gfx card.
Hva you ran an antivirus scanner recently to clear your computer of nasties?
Yeah, an expert in the field of motherboard electrics is your only hope of saving this motherboard. You have probably blown some Microchips which is causing your computer not to boot.
Constant shorting out of things is very bad for electrical components. Were you wearing anti-static gear while fixing ur machine? If not add static to your problem list. Are there any blown capacitors on your motherboard? (small cyclinder things) If one of those has gone i think you need a new computer, or get it to a repair shop ASAP.
Please try this program:
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
you will require an internet connection to do the test and the program will check your PC and tell you if you can or cannot run a game. And it will show you what you have failed on and by how much.
What Anti-Virus do you run? AVG seems to be the best Anti-Virus prog i have used, may be worth a go if you are not using it already.
Also do as Suspishio suggested and post a 'highjackthis' log. Post this in the Spyware section and you will get a better response, and hopefully a solution.
Have you checked that you actually only have 2Gb of RAM? May be worth checking. Also how many sticks of the RAM do you have?
What browser are you using? Firefox or IE?
Try using the Print Preview Function to see what 'should' come out the other end.
If the problem pursists, either do a long winded manual way of:
Print-screening the page and pasting it into Word or something similar to print that way.
Or if it is just text, copy and paste into a Word doc, or similar program.
