Did you try to activate it via the start menu?
Yeah i got a Geforce FX 5200, i cant wait to try it. :)
nice explanation floris ;)
I'm getting another free monitor, what are your guys thoughts on dual monitors? Is it cool for a bit then just get annoying? or is it nice and beneficial?
:( I'm also out of options...except get a different router
Well Dani, it is possible to have multiple OS's on one partition, but as you said, it is a very bad idea. If you wanted to do it, all you'd have to do is change the Operating Systems files folder. For Example, instead of C:/Windows , you can make it C:/WindowsNET C:/Windows98 ect ect. It is an absolute bad idea to do, but if you want to do it, thats how.
Hm, sounds to me like an error problem. I'd scandisk, virus scan, and even if you had time , defrag. Tell me this, have you recently installed any programs that you may suspect could have caused this problem?
Also, if that doesn't work download the Windows XP boot disk creator from Microsoft. Heres the link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=e8fe6868-6e4f-471c-b455-bd5afee126d8&displaylang=en
^^ Just have around 4-6 Floppys ready and all you gotta do is pop those bad boys in and make sure your XP cd is in the rom drive.
I have had the same problem. I have a Netgear RP114 and sometimes it wouldn't let me access webpages, but I can still be connected to online programs and stuff. Heres what I would do, make sure you have the lastest firmware version of your router. Then go ahead and edit the settings. If that doesn't work, give your router maker a call. Good Luck.
Dani's right, thats the right way to go at it. If for some reason that doesn't work, repair Internet Explorer. Good luck mate :)
what does the error message say?
Use SUNS version like Faranth said. Should solve your problem, if not, let me know.
Yes, and if that does not work go to the Welcome screen on the booted CD, go to Install windows, then press R for repair. It will reinstall everything and leave you same settings and programs installed.
I'm not sure if System Restore would do the trick, but you may as well give it a try.
search your computer for the one you want.
there ya go.
An INF file is a text file that contains all the information necessary to install a device, such as driver names and locations, registry information, version information, that is used by the Setup components.
Depends what you wanted deleted bro... I can't help ya unless you tell me what you dont want.
Heres what you do to get rid of the sys error. You have to boot the XP cd. Then go into Install Windows, and then hit repair/recovery. It will fix your file errors. It will not however reset your password.
Clear your cache, temp. internet files., and cookies. Then give it a shot.
Try this. Disable the proxy and see if you can still access the internet, if you can, then it's a error with the proxy. Post back the answer and I will help you solve this problem.
I'm pretty sure its an Outlook problem because like you said it only happens with that program. I'd suggest going to Office Update (http://office.microsoft.com) and download the latest service pack. Good luck mate :)
Also, try to boot it into the Modes (F8) and select "use previous configurations that worked"
Go into BIOS and make sure that you HardDrive is set to Primary Drive.
Yes, go to the Control Panel, then Network Connections, Right Click Local Area Connection, go to properties, then Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and to to Properties. Make sure that Obtain IP is selected for both the DNS and IP and hit apply :)
Here ya go bro, i got a link for ya that tells you excatly how to fix it. It is a problem with your NAT address pool is configured so that the start address is the same as the end address and the mask is 255.255.255.255.
The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of the kernel-mode translation module. :) Good Luck.
Here is the way of booting into the C-Prompt. Insert your Windows XP Pro CD at bootup. Then once all booted you will have the options of "Installing Windows" "Recovery Console". You will hit Recovery Console. It will ask you to enter your Administator password so go ahead and do that. It will go ahead and load your C:\. Use help to find out how to copy a DLL file to your computer. My preferred method is this. Don't RISK messing with DLLs. When you boot your CD, go to "Install Windows" Then hit Repair Windows Installation or something along those lines. It will re-install windows and you will loose nothing. This will work. Good luck solider.
Ok here could be the problem. Most likly your files are still on the hardrive so all is not lost. Try plugging your USB into another port on your computer. It should identify it, install the right drivers, and work. It will not be formatted UNLESS you tell it to in an option. So watch out. In the mean time, i'll try to find some guides for you.
Good to hear it was resolved. :)
I love it. Looks very professional :)
Yup, you see thats the problem with Microsoft, they should be smart and install the files for each version of Office in a different folder. For example C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office 2003/ ect.... Because what happens is a DLL file or something may get replaced without you knowing about it, or a registry entry could go array. If they were installed in seperate folders / and by different registry values then the problem would easily be resolved because there would be no file conflicts.
I love XP pro. I can't say im a server master like Tek is, but I'll take his word on it for .NET ;)
If you have a router, check that out. Because I have always had the same problem and if you reboot your router it should work perfectly. I think the problem is that if you have too many ports open on your router, it overloads. Mine is a NetGear RP114. So, try restarting your router if you have one, and lessen the ports that are open.
Make sure you complety uninstall office xp before you upgrade to SE. Then try to install XP on the fresh SE installation.
Well iamreally cool, you might want to scan your computer for viruses and or errors. You can use scandisk if you want, or go out and purchase Norton System Utilties. I wouln't buy anything unless you absolutly had too though.
