I have an ASUS P5B (non-delux) and I am trying to update the BIOS to be able to use the Wofdale core (1333) but I'm running into a huge problem. I don't have a floppy drive. I have read about others using a bootable CD that brings them into the updater with the updated BIOS file on it. Also I don't have the CD that came with the Mobo as we have moved a couple times since I got it and...well you know how that goes.

Is there anyone who can help me?

EZ Flash 2
Simply update BIOS from a USB flash disk before entering the OS
EZ Flash 2 is a user-friendly BIOS update utility. Simply launch this tool and update BIOS from a USB flash disk before entering the OS. You can update your BIOS only in a few clicks without preparing an additional floppy diskette or using an OS-based flash utility.

My 2 cents:

Try loading the failsafe defaults in your BIOS. Maybe the optimised defaults.

that was suppose to be done after the flash of the bios [set defaults],before the computer was let boot into windows!

Hi there,
Thanks for reading my problem. I work in a internet cafe. My owner told me to make CD for each PC for recovery. Like if any computer have any problem than he wants to use that CD for recovery. In easy explanation:
Step 1: Problem happened with computer/Does not start (Any way)
Step 2: Insert the boot CD/DVD (I will have to make it)
Step 3: Restore the Computer/Done.

Now my question is that how can I make a bootable CD/DVD ? All PCs use Windows XP.

Thanks in advance.

Zulfiker.

hi ,you need 3rd party software ,like Norton Ghost ,or some other ,there are many out there .

My Dell 1501 laptop seemed to get slower over the past week until today when i turned it on, it crashed a few seconds after booting up, and now when i turn it on, just before the Windows XP screen comes up, it displays a DOS screen stating a file is missimg from \SYSTEM]CONFIG\STEMS32, Pls insert original disk and press 'r' for repair." Any suggestions if you cant find your original disk...?

hi,to the best of my knowledge you cant do it with out the original disk or a windows disk of some sort !sorry

yes express, did you create an acct first in outlook ,while off line ,or before you download new emails ,so you don't loose them when you copy/paste

That's not enough to verify a PS is working with sufficient voltage/wattage.
If you haven't checked the voltage, you haven't tested it.
A technician without a PS tester isn't much good.

agree !
what did he/she do to test the motherboard ,assuming they had no PS tester ,likely didn't have a motherboard tester either ,lol

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

I have a Emachine that I have replace the power supply and new hard drive and it turns on then shuts down or it won't power up at all.I am out of clues of could be the problem....Help

ok, lets start with this ?,why did you replace the power supply !was it dying a slow death or did it just die ,if it was going bad over time it can sometimes damage a motherboard .

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

i recently had that problem with my laptop and it was the universal power adapter i was using ,it would run the computer but would not charge the battery ,i bought a new generic replacement adapter on e-bay and solved my problem, yours maybe be different !

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

please how do i set my mother board to allow me use the front sound earpiece.

smack it with a hammer !no wait that hoe to drive a nail through a board !

more info needed on the specs of you computer ,like the name and model # of the mothereboard !
it sometime requires a jumper setting on the mothereboard

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

How can I check whether the problem is with power supply or any other component?

you would need a PSU tester or a volt meter !

caperjack 875 I hate 20 Questions Team Colleague

Here's the thing......I downloaded a trial version of RegCure last week and it found over 1800 errors on my registry. It fixed the first 20 errors then asked me for £20 to fix the rest.

that why we here are suggest fully working programs that are free, yes free and work quite good I might add
