cant really help you but if you search www.google.com for uninstalling ie 8 beta you find things like this .
and just a tip for beta ,never install any program that is Beta on you main computer ,Beta only meant for testing purposes only !!
================
You have to go to Windows Explorer, click on your “C” drive, then the IE8 folder.,it might be in program files folder or the windows folder There will be a sub folder labeled “spuninst”. Click on it then find the spuninst.exe file. Double click it and in a few minutes you will be back to IE7
=============================
Removing IE8 on Windows Vista::
1. Click the Start Button and select Control Panel.
2. Select Programs (Programs and Features if you’re using the Classic View).
3. Select View installed updates (it will be under the Tasks column if you’re using the Classic View).
4. Find and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 from the list of available updates.
5. Click the Uninstall button at the top of the list.
6. Restart your system.
I don't have this problem with any other site.
thought you meant the error was on all sites ,what site are you referring to.
Caperjack, thank you very much for this advice.
your welcome
The shop owner mentioned the new dual and quad core cpu's, saying they are commonly 1.8GHz only so actually remain slower than this 3.2Ghz model. I have recently seen a lot of people recommending dual core and so forth, but for me there is no substitute for raw speed. ..
Intel will disagree with the shop owner and you on this one ,saying the new core 2 duo cpu works different and is therefor faster than the P4 ,just from what i read ,not what i know !
I am getting an error in Internet Explorer:
"Internet Explorer Cannot Display Web Page"
Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?
TIA!!
CBuddha
sorry to hear you have that problem ,can you connect to internet with other browser ,or is IE the only one you have installed .
do you have high speed internet or dialup modem !
do you have win2000,XP, win98, or Vista even, please tell us more
i don't use system restore very often ,but wouldn't it reverse the changes back , if any were made with the sfc /scannow ,that you suggest to do before the system restore .seeing as how both replace system files !
i'll go out on a limb here ,but i bet Gateway could tell you for sure what one it will take .
email info on this page .

HELP me please i cant find my folder option on my control panel....
Bob ,there is a my folder option in my control panel ,I think you are doing what i do a lot ,miss treading the post .maybe maybe not ,because viruses do remove this option and many many more
Like I said caperjack, if you think you want to go ahead I will stick with it. So if they agree to follow the rules as we lay them out....
Judy
thanks for offer ,but i sent email suggestion a reload of winxp ,the best solution for them anyway i think .thanks again
And they obviously didn't uninstall one of those av programs, both AVG8 and Norton are still running as is SpybotTeaTimer.
His email to you says;
Well then honestly, don't know what to tell you or them. The ONLY way to get this computer clean, other than total reformat and losing all they have saved they might want, is to do more scans and several other cleaning programs that we haven't gotten to yet and FOLLOW instructions exactly when using them...OR take it someplace and PAY to have it cleaned.
Sorry caperjack but that is what I think. Just THESE entries in the HJT logs show this computer is GROSSLY infected;
Wonder WHY?
Other than the fact they are running TWO antivirus programs which, in a sense compete with each other and therefore lessen their protection, they are also using the following programs;
ares
LimeWire
uTorrent
More and more I am seeing threads where computers are highly infected AND the poster is using multiple P2P programs, running scads of security programs, including more than one antivirus program. This tells me this person does know there is danger in P2P file sharing but they cannot resist getting "something for nothing" so they add all these extra security programs hoping to protect the computer....IT DOESN'T WORK, they get a lot more FREE STUFF than they bargained for, not to mention the possible legalities of this in violating copyright laws..which is a felony.Also showing …

EDIT=forget that i don't think it will work with ME ,and you amy have a hard time finding one does,most likely whats wrong with you mcafee
8. Faced with C:\WINDOWS>
this is where i would type in chkdsk /p/f ,and hit enter
there is a space between chkdsk and the /
Uploading really isn't that hard. Just give them step by step instructions with printscreens if necessary.
Judy
yeah, but it is when they don't know how to follow instructions ,i still don't think there are applying the "fix all found" in any of the scans ,
latest email ,and hijack log .
unfortunately i didnt save the log from malwarebytes. I really dont think i can do anymore scans than ive done already, today when i got home search and destroy found less than 15, malware found 7, and avg said it had 19 warnings. i do know what you mean when you say i still have stuff becuase everytime i do a malware scan 3 infected objects are always found in the first 1000(whether theres 3 objects found in the end or more). i havean update on firefox, my computer seems to running faster with firefox, theres a game i play online, and it doesnt lag as much now, but recently ive had problems with it, every once and a while this message comes up saying 'something is wrong with firefox, please let it close'. is there anythnig that can be done about that?
~as for the hijackthis~

i had that happen on a couple of xp machines and had to reload winxp to fix it ,only way i could find around it .
The only programs I did not recognize were the following:
Answer Works=== has something to do corel or another program ,maybe
Bonjour===== is releated to I-Tunes
Learn 2 Player,= is a player installed with AOL or some other software maybe !
Is there anything that really could be affected by this crack, honestly? I know if both hinges were cracked it'd be a different story but it's just the left side so I don't feel like it's super-imperative.
Then again this machine is a brute in itself and weighs a mad TON and a HALF so I'm sure with all the times it's been thrown around would have a lot to do with it, too xD
if are only going to continue throwing it around ,no point in epoxying it, as it will not hold
Greetings,
where can I get one?
Toshiba!!
could be beep codes coming from the motherboard speaker ,
i suspect other things .is this computer hooked to the internet? ,do you use it for other normal computer use ?if yes is you answer i suggest 2 programs .
first a temp file /registry clean up program .
www.ccleaner.com.
2nd. a malware/trojan cleanup program .
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
you could post the log back here
looks like you old beast should run it just fine ,so to me that means just about any new core 2 duo cpu tower will run it like a bullet train . check requirements on site .
http://www.spss.com/statistics/
it will cost you thousands of dollars !!!
256 meg ram isn't anywhere near enough ,add at least another 512 meg ,aol needs more for sure .
Still going through the log but looks like your friend got his infection/infections on or around 9/03/08 between around 3 p.m and 6 p.m. At least that is what it looks like to me because most of those "unknowns" or odd entries showed up then.
thank you ,i was in contact with them but they will be busy till monday night ,also not sure if they have the knowledge to follow instructions to upload to the site you linked .i will try though
Combofix DID remove a lot. I would like to see that MBA-M log too. BEFORE he does anymore scanning he MUST Uninstall one of those Anti-virus program.
Have him then do the MBA-M in Safe Mode, but nothing else yet.
yeah ,he uninstalled norton ,with the removal tool . i will see i can get the mba log
this thread is dumb and needs to be locked or deleted !something weird going on here .
here is his combo fix log ,im going to get him to rerun it in safe mode .

hello!
Is there any way to connect automatically to a wireless network on my windows xp?thanks. :)
a little better explanation please .do you mean just any wireless network ,or your own ,do you mean your own that is encrypted or one belonging to someone else that is encrypted
up date firefox ,maybe ,or uninstall and reinstall latest firefox.
your welcome
never seen that before ,why did you cancel it ,leaving the recovery go would have install winxp with sp1 ,then you would have just did windows updates to get back to sp3.unless you were trying a reinstall over to of !and not a laptop recovery
also what you did should not have cause it to stop turning on ,so something else is wrong ,check power cord ,check wall socket ,remove battery and try with just the power cord plugged in to laptop
send it back to toshiba ,before you do something that not covered under the warranty.
like throw it down and stomp on it .lol
review ,one of the cons is no 4 pin molex connector
Cons:
* Poorly Labeled Keypad
* Should Have More Chipset Sensors
* No 4 Pin Molex Connectors
* Not Aluminum
Remove the NIC form you're PC case and type all info thats writen on the NIC here.
what i told them to do in post 4, sort of ,.
I think there gone anyway after 9 days
Actually a weird looking bsod, the 0x000000000000041790 and the rest of them have a way more zeros than im use to seeing .
Bug Check 0x1A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

Hi,
kwtbaim.exe -
this exe belongs to Kiwee toolbar, most likely fix will be an uninstall ,reinstall ,or just leave it off the computer as its not a necessary program
download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
post the log back here
Thank you caperjack this helped,
so thats 1 resurrected from the grave.
glad to hear it worked for you ,I love dinosaurs.lol
I have bought a new computer. It shuts down automatically, when i start it. I don't know what is the problem. Is there any problem in the motherboard?

yeah ,my analyzer shows that its shorting out at the north bridge .,lol
first its new ,So take it back and let them figure it out for you !
LOL:D
and yes, i did know what you were referring to !
Just as a matter of interest, I have a prog installed called "Universal Plug & Play Enable/Disable." from Copyright © 2001 Gibson Research Corp. I have used it to disable UPNP but after reading this post the other day I opened the prog again, just to look at it and is stopped every service I had running on my PC. a serch on "services.msc" showed every service as disabled. (Re-booting did not re-start them, they remained disabled.) (System restore was also disabled so I could not do a restore and after enabling it , there were no restore points, all had been deleted.
I have since uninstalled this prog!!!
If you mean unplug and Pray,i use that program and it does not install on my machine ,just runs from the .exe i have on thumbdrive ,i have upnp disables now , doesn't disable any other services ,is it possible something else has done that to your computer .
Thanks for the reply! Ihave tried one other regular AGP card which gave me a beep code and prevented my PC from booting. I took it back out and the PC booted back up just fine. It could have been a driver problem, though. I haven't tried anything else. I have found and ordered a couple of cards to fit the pro slot, one 64mb and one 128mb. As soon as they arrive I will try them. If they work out OK I will just use them for now, but I do appreciate you taking the time to reply.
your welcome .i think you have to be careful with the different voltage of newer faster cards , and x2,x4,x8 agp cards,some 8x cards aren't backward compatible ,been my experience anyway .
Thanks.Is there anything I need to do set up for my desktop to read the HDD I am putting in?
not really, much to do ,make sure its set to master and just install it where the old one is,then install you OS.
i would suggest,the average user should not or does not need to be set up in Raid ,isn't worth the trouble from what i read .you get different answers form different people on all computer issues !
http://www.google.ca/search?q=to+raid+or+not+to+raid+&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Hi All:
Dell support has confirmed my worse fears--the registry error I had meant that my hard drive is dead. As I go to install the replacement drive, is there a way I can connect or access the hard drive through another computer (boot as a secondary drive) and access the data?
Thanks.
hi, if it a desktop computer ,and the drive is accessible [some are not when they die .]you can remove it and install the new on ,install window and then slave the old drive to it, or , you should be able to slave it on any computer .if its a laptop ,then different story ,you would need a usb device of sorts to hook it up
Yeah Hi Jack, I just got threw setting my computer up with those same 2 operating systems. Only difference would be I used partitions but other than that it went very smoothly. Install XP first and when that is complete install Vista and you can set up your boot order under advanced settings in startup and recovery. It is very straight forward not much detail needed in this answer. Good luck. Dad44
yeah ,I don't use Vista [much] I have what i will call a trial version ,that i have had install a few time on my test computer [then removed it ] so im not up on how it works with [vista]dual boot
