Hello , I usually use a test computer for ram with no ident marks on them .and i use a working computer with windows installed and i use a great little program called ,CPU-z,it will show cpu/motherboard /ram http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
google will show pictures of the different ram .PC100/133 sdram look the same

ddr sdram comes in many different speed like ,older to newer. in order
pc1600/1700/2100/2700/3200/
and then somewhere around there it goes to ddr2,then ddr3 biggest difference in the ddr and ddr2 is the different space between the slots /more pins
The biggest difference in sdram and ddr sdram is the 2 slots in sdram and 1 slot ddr sdram

I fixed one yesterday that would boot ,all fans run and lights come on ,then it shut down in about 25 seconds .
The first thing i checked was the psu, ,it failed the psu tester i have ,computer worked when i install a new psu.

and if that doesn't work ,then i suggest going out and buying and installing a pci nic card

same ? i had ,either on or off I don't think unplug upnp would have any affect on your computer .except a open security risk,maybe according to some !

that is a start for some who know more about it than i ,but when you get the blue screen it says on the screen memory dump created ,and it saves it the harddrive and that is what you need to save to have all then info ,but they have to be deciphered by a debug program or something like that .way to technical for me .

Your Data files ,open them with the program you created them with!

I don't read em but the memory dump file contains the info that will show what hardware is causing it .

have you tried to get into safe mode .by hitting f8 on bootup ,try it if you get to safe mode screen try safe mode with prompt ,and type in the chkdsk /fix there .note there is a space between chkdsk and the /f

Yes I tried typing in explorer.exe and all I got was the same error message.

I just tried event viewer and found a recent error, It reads as follows:

and i have fixed many 05 errors with the chkdsk /f

when you bring of task manager did you go to file /new task and type in explorer.exe

also try this in new task and check for error in system .

If that fails to produce results ,i suggest booting to winxp cd and run the Repair type in chkdsk /f , at the prompt

I think if it were malware /trojan ,just creating a new account wouldn't fix the setting on the other acct,But i have no suggestion as how to fix it .except not making the new accT an administrato,r and just leave it ,don't use it !

no ,chkdsk /p/f is only a fix .not a format .if you formatted and re-loded winxp and you still have problem then its not likely software,but likely hardware problem

welcome to Daniweb ,first thing i would try is to repair windows ,do this by booting the computer to the winxp cd ,and hit "R" for repair type in 1 when asked then at the prompt type in this note there is a space between the K and /,CHKDSK /p/f
when check disk finishes remove the winxp cd and type in exit ,to restart computer

i think first you would be looking at a very expensive video card to be able to
hook 3 monitors too,also some seem to say you could have one AGP video card with two connections and then install a pci video card and hook 3rd one to that ,but you might run into conflicting drivers .
splitter for 3 monitors .I think software will allow 3 different things to be displayed on them.

Gooday. I don't know what overlock is. What is it and is it supposed to be overlocked.

the word is overclocked .it means boosting the device .if you don't know what it is then chances are you don't have your video card overclocked .

right click on your desktop ,go to properties/then screen saver /then power /advanced i believe,in there you will see use power options ,or something like that ,usually there in older systems .

There is a temperature set point for the CPU which when it is reached will cause the computer to shut down.

as long as its set to do so in the bios ,not all are activated !

hi,yeah the memtest isn't hard to use you just download it ,install isobuster ,then click on the iso file for memtest anf isobust will rung so you can burn to disk ,hope you have a burner.
in hijackthis i notice these,they belong to you video card, they are for overclocking video card ,do you have your video card overclocked . also if you plan on using hijackthis to make fixes ,do not run it from the temp folder its now running from

did you unplug computer from power source and drain the psu by holding in the on/off switch for about 30-60 seconds before removing and installing ,if not you may have fried all the ram!

it is possiable ,but sometime when i hook the harddrive up in another computer i get axcess denied when i try to copy the file off the hardrive .
you would just change the jumpers on the end of the hdd where the ribbon cable connects from master to slave and put it in other computer on the same ribbon cable as the drive in other computer ,or leave it to master and unplug the cdrom in other computer and connect it to that ,reboot other computer and it should show in mycomputer .
oh yeah did mention to turn off computers when doing this

BETA software is still in developing stage .IE8 has not been official released yet to the general public via the windows updates ,just Beta test mode ,you put it on your computer to test it for them and send back error reports when you get them ,trouble expected can be anything ,but i see on other forums that lockups are common..
I don't even have IE7 install on my computer yet and never will install it .i use ie6 when needed ,but use Firefox as my default browser.
edit: just looked for it and see its beta 2 now ,so its getting closer ,if you install beta 1 maybe a beta 2 upgrade will help correct some of your problems ..
actually i would uninstall the beta ie 8 if i were you .

just a heads up,as i don't create muvees ,what program ! it might help others to know this !

could be a high def audio drive issue ,did you check website of the computer maker and try downloading and reinstalling the audio drivers

removing the upper and lower filters are what usually fixes this problem and they are added to the registry by burning software like Roxi cd creator and others ,to the best of my knowledge .

quick answer ,in my opinion ,no!

any file splitter programs i've used only split one large file ,and do not pick large amounts of file to be copied and stop when disk is full to tell you to install a new empty disk .
if these are just file you've created then all i know of is you have to do the work of sorting you file into folders of a size that will fit onto one disk .
if the this a hard drive backup then yeah there are programs for this type of backup,that will tell you when your disk is full and ask for new disk.i don't use any myself so i don't know what one to suggest .i just backup mydocuments folder to dvd every now and then

its related to settings in the bios,i have seen it with computer that have a dead bios battery, the bios info was not getting saved ,check this site out ,you would do method #2 in my opinion . if that doesn't work then maybe you have a dead bios battery on the motherboard

seems to me the problem is with the single sided ram they installed .as stated in you post and on motherboard makers site you need double sided ram if you are to use 1 gig modules.ones like these ,they are 667 but surely they are backward compatible to 533.good luck

might be easier to go to computer shop and buy or get them to install and new pci nic card ,anyway the driver for it if its a on board/integrated pci nic should be on the motherboard disk that came with the computer or on the web site of the maker of either the computer tower or the maker of the motherboard ,a little more info is need to find drivers for it on the net ,maybe if you could get the model number of the motherboard i could find drive for you

I think it time to take computer to computer repair shop! or follow the instructions to the letter in sparkax first post .
First thing you you need to do is go to site suggested and get a win98 boot disk file and unpack it to a fresh and clean floppy disk and use that along with the great instructions in sparkax post
