The dvd driver is only connected by one or two screw and can be remove and put it back easily. Have you try Rik suggestion?

Useless files refer to the files that use up a lot of space. Like unwanted folders like take up a few GB of space.

Check your event viewer. You might also have a lot of useless files on your computer and your computer might take a long time to look through them before you can use your computer. Try deleting the useless files and do a scan

Try update your dvd driver. Second, do a scan for any viruese. You said when you put in CD it can't play it. Right? Try reintall the driver if the update failed. I will take it that you have try other discs and the cd also cannot play. This tells us is the driver problem. Have you got a spare driver. Try changing the dvd driver. After that insert the disc if it can auto play. Done! your problem is solve, if it cannot the problem has to do with software related. We will slowly analyse it. Good luck

This post i believed should be in the networking forum but anyway i will still see and reply to it. Can you explain your problem in more simpler words. Like you say the laptop got an IP address for 30 seconds and after that the IP address change to another one. Meaning different IP address. Second point you said that it show connected by it also said unknown network. Does the network sign have an exclamation mark on it. Have you change any settings before and try resetting your router. It might be a random error, try reset your modem, if the problem occurs. Something is wrong with the vista laptop. Good luck

You mean you don't have a slot to put in your dvd or cd. If that is the case just go and buy one and fix it yourself or your dvd or cd can't be read. If that is the case try updating all drivers first

Yup, i always do that when hacking the software. But if you are not experienced enough it can corrupt the other files in the software, rendering your software useless and can't be use any more. In serious case it can harm your computer.

Choose only one to use. Either Macfuse or TrueCrypt. Choose the one you one and delete the other one. I use before true crypt but after sometimes i change to mac fuse. Go to system preference and click on mac fuse at the bottom. Tell me what you see. A screenshot will be better

You mean turn on wireless? Is very easy, when you got your laptop check the sides of the laptop for a button. There will be 2 buttons. One is for wireless the other one is for bluetooth. Turn on the wireless and you are off to go. If it does not work made sure you wireless card is properly install, try re install it again. After you are done on your laptop go to your desktop. At the bottom right hand corner, hover your mouse over the icon until you see one that said wireless. Click on that and join a network and see whether you can connect to the interent
