You'll need to convert the value of the text fields into numbers before performing the addition operation. Currently you are adding two strings of text, which concatenates them.

No Valid Source errors are generally caused by trying to use features which are not installed/have become corrupted. If your Windows disks have wupdmgr.exe on them, you could try copying it over to c:\windows\system32\ If not, or that doesn't work, then I would repair your windows installation. Also, changing your …

I'd suggest you try here, the Sun Microsystems Java Turorial index. It fairly good. Also, here is a link for the NetBeans Integrated Development Environment (also a Sun Microsystems product) which is freeware and very good. It is a rather large download though (about 60 meg for the offline version), …

Which OS/theme are you on that gives you a Black toolbar? With XP the options are restricted to Olive Green (bleh), Blue (dull) or Silver (at least you don't notice it).

It is because you have removed the battery. The BIOS battery provides power to the BIOS memory, without it your settings aren't saved when the PC shut's down and the BIOS restores from its factory settings.

Firstly, does explorer load when you log into safe mode? If so, try the directions here. If not, repair your windows installation using the directions here (its the last step of the first KB article anyway).

Okay, telling us your problem would be useful. Also, please wrap code in the
code goes here.
tags. But I'll bet it is the missing right parentheses in your System.out.println calls.

This is how I tend to declare buttons with one off action events:
JButton btnFoo= new JButton("btnFoo"); panel.add(btnFoo); btnFoo.addActionListener( new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){ //code goes here } } );
For quit buttons and the like, I'll define (say) JCloseButton which extends JButton with a default listener.

Re: www

It is a directory on the daniweb.com domain. Think of domain as a computer, a sub-domain as a public share on that computer, and think of the rest as folders within the share. That is close enough for everyday use.
