Hey guys. As many of you know, plans are in the works to reimplement the section-specific color schemes. However, I'm now wondering if that is a not so good idea. The reason is because right now we are the only purple IT site, and it would do a lot of …

Well, if you are using a MySQL database, and you have a table with a list of all your members, add a field called "saw_ad" and make it binary, with 0 by default. Then, for the ad, make it point to [inlinecode]<a href="clickad.php?m=membername">[/inlinecode] ... You'll then need a clickad.php file …

While I unfortunately don't know how to help you directly, I do have a couple of sites to point you in the right direction: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/anylinkcss.htm http://www.alistapart.com/articles/horizdropdowns

If you have Photoshop, just click on the Shape tool. Then use the little dropdown thing to install all of the preset cookie cutter shapes. There are a few premade checkmark vector shapes. Which of course you can then completely customize using Photoshop effects to your hearts content.

Does anyone know of any websites that would let me check my link popularity / the number of backlinks that I have? The more details and specifics, the better?

Yes, this is simply how Google AdWords operates. Obviously google wants to keep the ads in its search result pages on target and links that searchers would be interested in and find useful. If your ads aren't being clicked on, google doesn't feel they are relevant and should be listed. …

Spamming your link on other forums is not a way to get people to join your site ... it's just a way to irritate people.

Yes, even a site like DaniWeb where members register and post ... is member-driven. All you will need is a server-side program which is backed by a database such as PHP.

That can be done by editing the forumhome_subforumseparator_post and forumhome_subforumseparator_nopost templates, and replacing a comma with a <br /> Then, in the vB options, choose to show subforums on the forum display templates.
