I'm game, but my XP2400+ can probably only cook out a work unit every 2 or 3 days.

A post by tgreer gave me an idea. How about you post an original tech-related poem. Any type will do (limerick, haiku, sonnet..etc.) I'll start: Silence is broken A loud swear in frustration The blue screen of death

If you hold down the button for a couple minutes, will your computer boot? If so, there's probably just something wrong with the switch.

Go to Control Panel>System then click the Advanced tab. Under the "Preformance" heading click settings. Check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop" and then hit apply.

The first PC i built I used a basic Antec case and put a clear window on it using a kit I bought at best buy, looked okay. My new comp I just bought a pre-modded case because it looks cleaner. But i've since added an LED bar and fans.

Haven't tried this at all, but some guy made an Edit it button which allows you to edit the raw HTML of your msn spaces site. Is it possible to write a program that would change my signature every time I make a post. Then you could add a bunch of quotes but it would rotate them. Is it possible??

Go to My Computer, right click the cd-rom drive and choose Eject. If this doesn't work use an emergency release pin if you have one.

You most likely have a corrupt registry hive. Here's a thread where I've posted some instructions awhile back. Scroll down a little and it shows how to fix your problem.

Two questions: 1. Did this just start, or have you had WinXP on this computer for awhile? 2. What are your computer's specs?

If your Celeron is Socket 478, you should have no problem upgrading to a newer Socket 478 Pentium 4. However some (I believe the slower) Celeron's are socket 370. So double check before you buy anything.

It seems to catch some crap that VirusScan and AVG don't get. Usually then I run Ad-Aware SE, followed by …

Some processors support hyperthreading, which basically makes your system think that you have dual processors when really you only have 1.

If you disabled the popup blocker and are still having trouble, perhaps your firewall is blocking access to Yahoo! Mail. You may need to open some ports. Or maybe its time for Firefox?

A virus is definitely a possibility, but dont rule out a hardware problem. Random reboots are often caused by a bad power source or an overheated processor. Check and make sure the processor's heatsink is situated properly and that thermal grease is applied to the cpu.
