It might be possible if you can find all the drivers. Start with the Toshiba web site and verify it's possible.
Why would you want to do this?

How do you do it ?

It's a straight forward, but time-consuming process, and you can find out all you need to know here:

Boot to the Safe Mode screen and try Last Good configuration.
Try a repair install:

If all else fails, it's relatively simple to remove the HD and copy the files to another medium.

Your computer seems to be configured correctly, let's look at the router.

First, hook a cable to the router and see what your IP address is:
Start/Run/cmd>return and type ipconfig /all

Then, disconnect the cable, get "connected" wirelessly, and see what your IP address is.

If you're not getting a wireless IP in the range 192.168.1.xxx then you need to cable up again and go to the router setup page thru your browser. If your roommate is familiar, see if he sees something odd, like not allowing enough IPs.

anyone here even been in the armed forces?

opinions?

Yes. I have a Purple Heart and A CIB I picked up in Vietnam.
I've ranted about this before, so let me just say this:
The infantry fight these battles and takes the majority of the casualties, backed up by all the other support troops. When I was picking up my dead and wounded after the battles, I wanted to know if the sacrifice these guys made was furthering the interests of the American people. It wasn't then, it isn't now.
Go look at a badly wounded veteran, or see and smell the dead on the battlefield and you might have a different take on this, or any war.
War is a serious business, and this one is being run by amateurs.

Beautiful sites can be created with Dreamweaver. Although I prefer it, there is also no need to know any code, either.

Post a copy or a screenshot.
Don't use a height parameter. It's not supported by W3C, and 1250 is way too big for most surfers.

"Once you start to seriously consider designing your Web page, rather than just throwing up a bunch of links in a bulletted list, most Web designers start to worry about what resolution to design for. And what this really ammounts to is trying to decide how wide to design your pages. "
http://webdesign.about.com/od/webdesign/a/aa080904.htm
This is a problem for everyone, and there are some ideas on the above page.
I usually use a fixed width (1024) by some prefer percentages.
There is no allowable tag for height, so don't worry about it.

Control Panel - Icons Missing

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT

Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load

Look in the right pane and you'll see the Control Panel Icons that have been disabled. You can either right click on the "don't load" subkey and select Delete to restore all disabled icons, or you can right click on each of the items in the right pane and select Delete to selectively restore them. Scroll up to Control Panel Applets for a listing of what each one is.

The change will be seen the next time you open Control Panel.
This control should also be available in IE/Tools/Internet Options

In most cases you'll have no problem with drivers when installing 64 bit windows.
You may have to search for some drivers for peripherals, but this has never been a major problem for me.
64 bit support is much improved from even a year ago.

I would steer clear of blinking text if it causes seizures but if you must have blinking text I would put a warning up for people with seizures so we will navigate elsewhere to prevent seizures.

This is a greatly exaggerated threat, as a little research will quickly show:
"As far as I'm aware, there has never been a reported case of photosensitive epilepsy caused by web content ..."
http://juicystudio.com/article/photosensitive-epilepsy.php#andtheweb
The fact is that blinking is both distracting and annoying. Why would you want to distract and annoy your visitors?

This time try "skip" instead of "try again", if the error shows up.

I'm not aware of any 64 bit games, but it doesn't matter, as 32 Bit software works just fine on a 64 bit platform.
a 32 Bit OS doesn't really use 4 GB of memory, as part of it is already assigned to other functions.
64 bit software is lagging behind, but it will catch up.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

Your info is basically correct.
Memory limits:
32 Bit: 2^32 addresses available (4,294,967,296)= 4.3 GB. Some of this memory space is limited, as you noted, so only 3.2GB is usually available.
64 Bit 2^64 addresses available (18446744073709551616)
17.2 billion gigabytes
This number is limited by the motherboard in question. My ASUS board, for example, will only handle 4 GB.
64 bit computing is more or less the norm now. 32 bit software works fine on 64 bit platforms, but the reverse is not so.

Your images may look small, but that's because you're using HTML to re-size them. The server still must load the original image at its original size.
This image:
http://www.fabricjam.com/item_image/sl274151.jpg
for instance, is 2.12 MB.
I haven't gone through the whole site, but I did find several this large. Many of your images have been properly sized, so just re-size the rest of them.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

Forget Dreamweaver until you learn HTML. The WYSIWYG editors hide the tags from you and you'll never learn anything that way.
I use HTML Kit, but there are many capable, free editors that will get you started.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

The images are Word Art, which is part of Microsoft Word.

First, make sure you have copyright permission to use the document.

Use Ctrl-PrintScreen to take a screenshot. Then use MS paint to paste it into a blank document. Cut out the parts you want, and save them as .jpg images by pasting them into blank images.

You can also use the "Save as Web Page" option in the Word file menu. But it produces a huge messy web file.

I tried the "save as..." option, and it was all screwed up. Overlapping images, etc.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

Some of your images are very large-Typically, you want to keep them under 50K, but some are over 2 MB. Use a program like Irfanview or Photoshop to reduce the size.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

Blinking is generally a bad idea. You'll drive people away very rapidly.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

Objectively, it loads plenty fast for me on my FIOS 15/2 connection.
Disappointing that there's no lingerie section, though.
I think you'll find this has more to do with your connection than the server.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

a 64bit CPU will run a 32bit OS but not the other way around. the biggest advantage of the 64bit is that you can run up to 16Gig of ram. it is mainly used in servers.

Actually, 64 bit computers, like the one I'm using, are quite common for home users. Many of the newest computers are 64 bit, and I think Gateway is going to all 64 bit soon.
You're a little off on the memory capabilities: "Today, when 2 GB of main memory is common, the ceiling of 2^64 addresses is about ten billion times larger, i.e. ten million times more headroom than the 2^32 case."

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

Since XHTML is based on HTML, it would make far more sense to learn HTML first. Once you've gotten grounded in HTML, the transition to XHTML will be easy.

hughv 104 Veteran Poster

If you're using Windows, rt-click My Computer/Properties to find your processor type.
64 bit OS will not work with 32 bit OS.
64 bit is not necessarily faster or more efficient, but it can use much more memory.
