You went with Access so I can't help you directly but what about the ACE? Noted at http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/topic/320397-vb-6-not-recognise-access-2010-accdb/ (you'll have to find the ACE for your version of Access.

Since you can't use the usual answer I'm going to write you want to use an app like AUTOIT.

Start by completing your design specification. You gave a start where you told what was good and bad along with duplicate removals but stopped short of telling what should happen as well as if this was to "read a file, write to another file with the filtered, tested data."

So for you to begin, write a basic file reader that reads your lines and prints them on screen and to the second file. Once you have that then you add functions to test for good or bad. Later you can add a function to test for duplicates.

Thanks for this. To me it's not the delay that's broken, it's what happens to the activity stream where you see an entry for each click.

But if you tackle both, it's golden.

First it's great to have an edit feature so that's good.

What I notice after the last big change is that if I edit that works but the Save Changes button when clicked doesn't seem to work.

Well, it does work but you must be patient and know not to click it again or else you get more than one entry in the activity stream.

Since it works, it's hard to ask for a fix but if possible, grey it out on click or ignore more than the first click?

In your last post you used the word combine. Maybe you need to think about the GROUP BY feature?

Here's what I know. I know a team that did such and they did have to go down the usual path of research and writing the reports. Since such is not in the public domain I can only share their superiors were upset that it took the same staff to implement and support as any such system does. There are folk that want these systems to be as easy as installing Microsoft Office. Nothing is close to that.

For years I've seen the industry trend more and more to where you can only fix something by replacing it. Now it is expensive to have a good tech to do work so this bill may further impede those that offer repair services.

I'm going with no. And how to create such, when video playback methods are all over the map can't be covered. But there is some hope if you opt for HTML5 only video.

Let's look over http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_av_dom.asp and there we see a very useful currentTime Property.

Now if you were to only play HTML5 video you could write your code to fire on that up/down vote to pick up the currentTime Property and use that to record their time and vote.

I changed from VB6 to later in just a few days. It's not very different here.

Maybe you think it faulty to leave such old support out but here I agree it has to go. Just a few years ago I ran into some app that would not run on a patched up XP SP3 but would on plain XP. It took some digging but it was another removal of 16 bit support.

OK, your tag is PHP but you didn't specify that this was in a browser. As you know you may not take over the screen like that. You could if you had the user run some app. There are plenty of prior discussions about this but for now, you can't violate what the user wants to see in their browser view.

So the first 3 lines are a breeze.

Line 1 is a comment.
Line 2 is a blank.
Line 3 is a call to a function above.
Line 4 is a call to some function that we don't have the code to so you would be reading what that function does with what you passed it.

I have to ask why you shared just these 4 lines. WIthout the rest it's not possible to go deep.

While I would not go down that road you have priors to read if it's possible.
