Hi there and welcome to Daniweb, tell us a bit more about yourself.

I am not sure this is possible because the software that combines them all would have to some how get an encripted password and I can't see that happening. But correct me if I am wrong I am very interested in this. I suppose it could be done by the user registering in a form that you create and it automatically registers them in the other software. But that doesn't seem very secure.

This might sound stupid but are you sure you have the codec. Try download VLC Player from http://www.download.com/VLC-Media-Player/3000-2194_4-10267151.html. THis might solve your problem

15 years ago (sigh, has it been THAT long?) when we used IE2 (or Netscape 2 more often) you'd not have encountered sites using XHTML, Flash, Javascript (certainly nothing like now), CSS, PNG, Java applets, ActiveX controls.

Guess what IE6 couldn't handle 24-bit alpha transparency PNGs!

I thought netscape was far more popular then, but what do I know I was about 3 years old.

I heard about this, I think its somin to do with licensing and the music and film industry.

I've 5000+ slides in my private collection. That's enough to allow me to change my desktop once a week for almost a hundred years.

Try unistalling it and installing it again. That is pretty bad error. Have you got the latest version? Do you have anything on your PC that you think it might be conflicting with?

Saying XP is crap is a bit ermm harsh. I don't know when you had XP but it has changed since it first came out lots of people say the SP2 took it out of BETA so you may want to install it again.

To be honest I can see why you would want those programs to come out for 2000 but seen as you have a copy of xp...

Anyway trillian is good and I really doubt Windows defender will be any better than Norton or anything like that, anyway doesn't it come with Vista in which case why should you get it for free if others have to pay for it.

There isn't really a way to do this, because it isn't really possible to eliminate all of the compression problems.

You can just resize it to no more than 150%. Then I would just play with the contrast, color, brightness and the stuff in view>adjustment.

Paint Shop Pro has some nice features for this stuff. But you will need to buy that.

Have you accidentally renamed a folder so that the link to these songs are incorrect therefore obviously your media player can't find them?

I really doubt it will be anything to with downloading them of bittorrent (which you shouldn't its illegal) unless they have some seriously clever DRM in them.. but don't worry about that.

Try cutting them from their current place on your pc and putting them somewhere else. Then uninstall Itunes and download it and install it again, then sync all you music into it again.

I can't see a reason why this wouldn't work.

I think the amount of ads on a page depends on how you lay your page out. For example some sites have one and it can be extremely annoying and can get in the way. However on daniweb (on the page I am on) there are 6 ads and I don't find them annoying because they just work with the page perfectly.

You can't really expect to get members to your forum in a week. The best advice is to make sure there is some interesting discussion going on even if you have to sign up multiple users yourself and ask questions yourself and answer them yourself. Anything to make people have something to read and comment on.

For what you want Package 1 winds hands down. You shouldn't have any problems with the speed and you can upgrade to package 2 if you every need to for little extra than it would cost to buy package 2 now.

If I were I would def buy package 1

That's really good. I think something smaller like paper clips or maybe his mouse!

I would like to be able to close one of my layers which is in a div tag. I have used css to specify an image in this layer and it will have a link in it aswell. I would like to have another text link that allows the user to close this popup. I would ideally like to do this with some javascript that I can attach to the head of my page and a text link that "calls" the javascript in the document.

Also, I hope it isn't to much to ask but is there anyway of having someking of effect eg. it peeling off?
