I do think this app will be useful for consultants and marketing professionals. I have manually included such information on my reports yet I wonder if management wants to see this information at times.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Thanks for sharing! This is a great list.

I have to check if I can use Skype to create a paid phone line. My friend is still exploring this option.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I strongly recommend you to often include postings about topics that relevant to your blog. It helps build up keywords. Also, I recommend you to reference other blogs and write the blogger a note to notify this.

Dear Web Dancer:

Blogging does help increase traffic to a website but you need to consider the following factors:
1. Time to dedicate to the blog
2. Time to mention other associated bloggers in your blog post
3. Time to really blog rather than self-promote

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

To be honest, I never ever heard of Tr.im until now. I bet you that now that site is receiving much more traffic.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

What questions would you ask a social media consultant who you or your business wants to hire to grow your brand's online pressense/community?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I just read a blog today about how Google has introduced video ad previews in its SERPs. Nevertheless, the video help engage the visitor to learn more about the product/service and spend more time.

Would you consider this advertising tactic for your product?

Digg is a community sharing news site where high rated news appear on the front page.

Hi
I am always on the lookout for resources to strengthen my knowledge and understanding of this ever changing online landscape. I do have my list of blogs I visit often like Mashable and CNET but I wonder if anyone else have other "hidden gems". Thanks

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I read this blog post today and it made me think on how behavioral data have allowed advertisers to "personalize" certain types of advertising.

http://www.webmetricsguru.com/archives/2009/08/future-of-direct-marketing-and-newspapers-is-personalization/

Unlike the blogger, I do read the political pamphlets on my mailbox but I also wonder if I will become more engaged if I knew some of the people on the ad.

But on the other ad, if the ad had too much personal information about me, I would be turned off.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Thanks for the chuckle. Its true. I had a Myspace profile 4 years ago and my picture was not provocative at all - it was an acting headshot picture and my mailbox was inundated with "offers to make me famous" and sleazy agents. I removed the profile for piece of mind.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I agree with you. Setting up an adwords advertising function on Twitter helps monitize Twitter and may decrease the amount of spammers on Twitter.

You know what - we see it at our work places - when the system is down for a few minutes or hours - people dont know what to do and are just idle. Perhaps I am dating myself but I remember the time when many offices still had the IBM semi electric typewriter and the only issue was there no ink.
This thread makes me wonder if there is a terrorist attack rendering all technological communication on a standstill, where are the semi-electric typewriters as back up?

In concept I like web conferencing but I have found that many users do need to be trained on how to use it beforehand, especially the web conferencing services that include additional or premium features.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

There will always be pros and cons about any services. Period. I personally have never used tr.im and use mostly bit.ly because it allows for traffic referral tracking.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I personally have created and then let die of many blogs. Why? Well, let say life gets in the way at times. hehe. Also, it depends on other motivating factors like traffic, engagement of this traffic, positive reinforcement, and time.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I see I had over 105 views but no suggestions :-( I greatly appreciate if somoene suggests a few. Thanks

I often see on this board requests for white papers and best practice guides. Thus, when I saw this one I thought members of this board would benefit. http://www.porternovelli.com/media/pdf/pnid-news.pdf

As you might have heard, Apple's new IPhone 3GS has an option to IProd in its control. I wonder if Iprod is going to be a new online community, similar to me.com, to upload and share contacts and friends. Perhaps this is a new online community for mobile users. What do you think?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

How do you optimize for mobile search? Do you think that mobile users will use more precise or defined search words to find the type of results they are looking for?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Im working with a client who is moving away from traditional marketing to digital. Other than the basics and social media, which recommendations or advice do you have to share? Thanks

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Im trying to add new blogs to read on internet marketing and will appreciate any suggestions. I subscribe to Mashable and SEOMoz. Which ones do you recommend?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Many sites have used Google Analytics to measure online engagement. Yahoo Analytics is also another free tool that also have received good buzz. Like Google, Yahoo now has its network of Yahoo Analytics Consultants. Thus, knowing this, would you be more inclined to use Yahoo Analytics on your site.

Have you used vvoice search on your mobile? Or have you employed mobile voice search in your tactics? Have you heard of Vlingo, Tellme, and Sensory?

Myspace feels like a club with the sleaze factor included.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Yes I have experienced a similar hurdle and I now other colleagues who have to present length and labor intensive case studies in order to bolster their case. Another hurdle is how to justify your fees.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I have seen some other companies do the same thing. My reaction to it is that it may have a spammy feel since it was just copied and paste and not customized for each language and cultural sensitivities.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Digg will unleash its new advertising platform which allows users to vote. Depending on the type of vote, the advertiser may spend more money or less money. Would you consider advertising on Digg? Is this system a turnon or turn off?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

As we all know, online conferencing has been around for some time though it is mostly used by vendors doing a demo on their product with potential clients. My question for you is : have you effectively used web conferencing to increase your online consumer/business reach?

I know I have used WebEx before and another one like AdobeAcrobat Connect. I remember that usability was a stumbling block for many but once you get the gist of it, it was okay to use.

I checked out TeamApart.com and its a new comer in this space and I liked it because it allows me to jot notes and share them.

So my question for the members here is: would you use such a service and do you think it will help increase your reach with your online community?

I also want to add this link : http://twibbon.com/
It is funny to see that avatars are already made to reflect the Twitter's attack.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

It is scary but a true reality that there are predators out there and one has to always be cautious and aware. I was not affected as far as I now of (I have a few different twitter accounts). On my Facebook account, I have made it extremely private - no one can find me. I have a Mac and even though most people recommend not to buy anti-virus software, I still made the investment.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Yes, there is a fine line of which content to keep ecret and which one one should dislose to help increase sales/leads.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Hi
I just read a blog report about how News Corps lost millions with Myspace. Myspace have changed its branding in the past year or so and have the same colors as LinkedIn and Facebook yet it has not really helped regain its market space. So do you use Myspace and if not, would you use it for your marketing/advertising campagin?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Mashable wrote a post on Tweetblocker tool which allows users to identify top Twitter spammers. Have you used it and how has it helped your Twitter experience

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Im thinking of setting up a phone line to provide internet marketing advice. Before doing that, I am wondering if anyone on this board have used Skype Prime or Ether and what do you think? Did it helped you build credibility on your field or even made some revenue?
Please let me know. Thanks!

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I know there are many podcasts and online radio stations and if the producer accepts advertising, it provides an opportunity for businesses to advertise. I have seen display ads on Pandora on my Ipod Touch and one PSA on my broadcast. Would you advertise on Pandora or use Targetspot? What do you think?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Which model/s do you use to conglomerate your search campaigns and web analytics? I am trying to understand more about this and appreciate any insights and suggestions. Thanks

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

On one of my blogs, I constantly get the same comment over 100 times (Im not exaggerating) called "Hello World". Thus, if I approved this comment my neutral score will all be influenced by this.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I believe this is a fad, just like many companies created their own communities, but it is the ones that provide most value that will retain its users for the long term.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I agree about the neutral ones. Adding the neutral with the positive and negatives may somewhat skew the data. For example, let say I have a blog commentary. I received a total of 10 comments. 3 were good, 3 were bad, and 4 were neutral (like self promoting links, spam, and non relevant comments/links). Thus, using the above metrics, it seems I have lots of positive, but not really since the 4 neutral should not even be calculated.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I can see it useful but then again, if the followers knew this person was accepting tweet endorsements, I wonder if the tweets would be taken seriously. Also, what would be the click through rate of a "sponsored tweet link" versus a regular tweet link.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I actually have opted out from Facebook Connect from many websites. Why? Well, I want to keep some activity and don't want my "friends" to know I was shopping or playing games. Thus, I can see a parent wanting to know if their children played the games, especially if they are connected as friends via Facebook. On the other side of the game, advertising for gamers is inescapable. Even the games itself have some form of advertising.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Unless it is access for proprietary date, paying for tweets may not be popular. I can see Forrester, Jupiter Research, or Nielsen charging for special type of tweets (especially those with metrics). Other than these type of companies, I dont see the value. Do you?

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

Thanks. Your blogs look really nice.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

I strongly recommend you to use a respectable email vendor like Experian - http://www.experian.com/small-business/marketinglist/select-list-application.jsp?productType=consumer
I am not connected to them at all but I have used their lists in the past for consumer segmented groups.

Bing/Yahoo may use another factor in its crawler to rank sites. Time will tell and if I find out, I will certainly post it here for discussion.

InsightsDigital 57 Posting Virtuoso

WordPress allows customization of blogs into informational business related websites. As I am exploring this for myself, I am wondering what has been your experiences of creating a non-blog on WordPress rather than creating a website on HTML/Flash. Would you do it again? Any recommendations?
Thanks
