I strongly recommend you to often include postings about topics that relevant to your blog. It helps build up keywords. Also, I recommend you to reference other blogs and write the blogger a note to notify this.

Blogging does help increase traffic to a website but you need to consider the following factors:
1. Time to dedicate to the blog
2. Time to mention other associated bloggers in your blog post
3. Time to really blog rather than self-promote

Unlike the blogger, I do read the political pamphlets on my mailbox but I also wonder if I will become more engaged if I knew some of the people on the ad.

But on the other ad, if the ad had too much personal information about me, I would be turned off.

Thanks for the chuckle. Its true. I had a Myspace profile 4 years ago and my picture was not provocative at all - it was an acting headshot picture and my mailbox was inundated with "offers to make me famous" and sleazy agents. I removed the profile for piece of mind.

I agree with you. Setting up an adwords advertising function on Twitter helps monitize Twitter and may decrease the amount of spammers on Twitter.

You know what - we see it at our work places - when the system is down for a few minutes or hours - people dont know what to do and are just idle. Perhaps I am dating myself but I remember the time when many offices still had the IBM semi electric typewriter and the only issue was there no ink.
This thread makes me wonder if there is a terrorist attack rendering all technological communication on a standstill, where are the semi-electric typewriters as back up?

In concept I like web conferencing but I have found that many users do need to be trained on how to use it beforehand, especially the web conferencing services that include additional or premium features.

There will always be pros and cons about any services. Period. I personally have never used tr.im and use mostly bit.ly because it allows for traffic referral tracking.

I personally have created and then let die of many blogs. Why? Well, let say life gets in the way at times. hehe. Also, it depends on other motivating factors like traffic, engagement of this traffic, positive reinforcement, and time.

Many sites have used Google Analytics to measure online engagement. Yahoo Analytics is also another free tool that also have received good buzz. Like Google, Yahoo now has its network of Yahoo Analytics Consultants. Thus, knowing this, would you be more inclined to use Yahoo Analytics on your site.

Yes I have experienced a similar hurdle and I now other colleagues who have to present length and labor intensive case studies in order to bolster their case. Another hurdle is how to justify your fees.

I have seen some other companies do the same thing. My reaction to it is that it may have a spammy feel since it was just copied and paste and not customized for each language and cultural sensitivities.

I just read a blog report about how News Corps lost millions with Myspace. Myspace have changed its branding in the past year or so and have the same colors as LinkedIn and Facebook yet it has not really helped regain its market space. So do you use Myspace and if not, would you use it for your marketing/advertising campagin?

I know there are many podcasts and online radio stations and if the producer accepts advertising, it provides an opportunity for businesses to advertise. I have seen display ads on Pandora on my Ipod Touch and one PSA on my broadcast. Would you advertise on Pandora or use Targetspot? What do you think?

On one of my blogs, I constantly get the same comment over 100 times (Im not exaggerating) called "Hello World". Thus, if I approved this comment my neutral score will all be influenced by this.

I believe this is a fad, just like many companies created their own communities, but it is the ones that provide most value that will retain its users for the long term.

I agree about the neutral ones. Adding the neutral with the positive and negatives may somewhat skew the data. For example, let say I have a blog commentary. I received a total of 10 comments. 3 were good, 3 were bad, and 4 were neutral (like self promoting links, spam, and non relevant comments/links). Thus, using the above metrics, it seems I have lots of positive, but not really since the 4 neutral should not even be calculated.

I can see it useful but then again, if the followers knew this person was accepting tweet endorsements, I wonder if the tweets would be taken seriously. Also, what would be the click through rate of a "sponsored tweet link" versus a regular tweet link.

I actually have opted out from Facebook Connect from many websites. Why? Well, I want to keep some activity and don't want my "friends" to know I was shopping or playing games. Thus, I can see a parent wanting to know if their children played the games, especially if they are connected as friends via Facebook. On the other side of the game, advertising for gamers is inescapable. Even the games itself have some form of advertising.

Unless it is access for proprietary date, paying for tweets may not be popular. I can see Forrester, Jupiter Research, or Nielsen charging for special type of tweets (especially those with metrics). Other than these type of companies, I dont see the value. Do you?

I am not connected to them at all but I have used their lists in the past for consumer segmented groups.

Bing/Yahoo may use another factor in its crawler to rank sites. Time will tell and if I find out, I will certainly post it here for discussion.

WordPress allows customization of blogs into informational business related websites. As I am exploring this for myself, I am wondering what has been your experiences of creating a non-blog on WordPress rather than creating a website on HTML/Flash. Would you do it again? Any recommendations?
