http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk?level=2
perhaps if you could explained what happens when you try using it
I am just glad it worked for me.
im glad it worked for you too, wish i had tried it ,will remember to try it next time for sure
Did it help yours?
NOPE! but the new one works great.lol
Im still trying to figure out why the freezer trick worked for a flash memory card,i used the freezer trick to keep a hard drive cooler longer to get file off it before it overheated and shutdown.
Thought I had a problem with "sticky keys" but not sure. Have cordless Microsoft keyboard. Have problem with a delay in going from letter to letter, often having to hit a letter several times before it appears. any suggestions?
maybe bad battery in the wireless device if there are batterys

=================

to check go to control panel /homegroup,
run the troubleshooter
and check the password you and he are using is the same .

Is it a laptop or a desktop?
lol, good question ,I again for some reason ,assumed it is a laptop .and its likely not!
giving the price of similar computer on this Canadian site i buy from ,you paid a fair price i think .check there used ram prices,if its a desktop, also fairly cheap.512 ddr for 9-11 dollars and they ship all over .
http://www.vfxweb.com/index.php?maincateg=1
what is the exact make and model number it should be on the back of the laptop .
a new laptop can be had for between 350.00 and 3000.00 so if it does what you want it for ,then yes that a not bad price!
if there anything like me they likely just throw them away!lol
how did you fix yours
reinstall AVG and use the uninstall function.
OP all ready reinstalled it and uninstalled it successfully! as they stated in there last post
data transfer rates are faster with a sata over a ata drive
Hi all,
However, my windows is not able to detect my hard disk anymore but
Please help me and give me advice on this. Thanks lots.
did it ever boot to the usb drive ,did you enter the bios/setup[on bootup] to make sure it was set as usb hdd as first boot
ccleaner still has a free version you just missed the link on there website ,they hide it a bit lower down the page .
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner
you may need to reinstall avg to correct it ,and then try unstalling it
120mb of ram? Is that definitely all it has? If so, getting atleast 512mb in it will make it a lot quicker. 1gig will make it quicker still!
lol.never even read the specs closely .if that correct it shurly would be the problem
i would format and reinstall ,best way ,you never know what the previous owner could have left on it ,if you have any important data on it , you should save it first
if scans are finding p2p crap .it being a used computer i would format and reinstall windows and the device drivers for you model from compaq website
I've tried everything suggested but still I can't get further than "Password" as I can't type anything. I have another computer which I am using. I think I will have to get someone to look at the computer for me. Thanks everybody-good of you all to try and help me.
perhaps we could help you better if you'd answer or talkback to us ,you never answered as to what type of keyboard ,you never responded to my suggestion of trying safe mode ,so we don't even know what happened when and if you tried that .so speak to us!
did you
try setting the bios to default setting /save and exict changes and let it continue booting
did you restart the computer and try again
You have new mail does appear, OUTlook does not neither does Outlook express?
likely reason is because there is no need for it to appear there ,it adds new mail notification ,you could add it to the lower toolbars quick launch ,if you need it.if you don't all ready have it in quick launch ,
right click on the lower border ,go toolbars ,click on quick launch ,right click on the outlook icon in start and you should be able to send to quick launch ,or drag and drop it in quick launch, good luck
Yes, it's a valid test if you are upto doing.
tester or shortcircuit.
its just bypassing what the switch does, not that big a deal really .
for safty reasons maybe the OP should take the computer to a repair shop ,if they don't have the ability to follow simple instructions and saftly fix it themselfs
I was going to post this long ago,but waited !
try hitting f8 on bootup and going into safe mode ,xp should have a administrator accct that in most cases isn't passworded ,if so ,enter it, and go to control panel/users/yourusername/and remove the password!good luck
where is the OP,why not wit till they respond to the first few post !
this is getting old!my opinion
I have a removable/portable Samsung DVD drive that I want to access from a machine running Windows 98 in MSDOS mode. Does anyone know where I could get a driver to make that feasible?
perhaps there re other alternatives ,what exactly is it you want to use the dvd drive for ,is it for continuous use or just a sort of one time use
I have some request .... THE UGLY TRUTH
UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN
KNOCKED UP
DEAR JOHN
lol, this is not the movie network
didn't look at that. Just noticed none had yet answered.
yeah ,sometime we miss a few .lol
great post though ,one day someone will be search this error and you link will help them ,or even the op may come back and still need the info who knows. keep on a posting ,good night
yes indeed! 6 year-old computer!
so the answer is no. IE9 is not useless.
but it is useless on my computer
correct
old computer work fine until update your software !!
my opinion is win7 and ie9 needs more like 2.5-3gig ram ,not 1.5 'i use ie9 and it runs quit fast and well for me no issues at all ,on duel core laptop with 3 gig ram on 32bit and 4 gig on 64 bit .
so i say yes your machine is old and tired bent and busted [lol]and meant for winxp
when buying a laptop ,one should do a little research first ,you would have found that EMaching is on the bottom ,looking up,way up
going on 2 1/2 months since original post hopefully they got help somewhere else by now.
You sure did, but I am doing what you do :).
lol
12 post to tell the OP to double click the edge .
and they likely will never return to see all the answers .lol
to test your psu, you can short the green wire to a black one
leave the psu plugged in the moboard, but take a paperclip and jam it in the green wire slot and any ground wire slot(black). this will bypass your motherboard and the psu fan should spin when you press the power button.i've never actually done it myself, but when i read about it online,it sounds like an easy way to test.
also, some psus have atest button, you probably would have already seen it though.
this is the best advice yet .it just needs to be refined to explain the procedure better ,there are pictures on line ,like this one.
http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?34941-Guide-to-testing-problematic-power-supplies.
and yes i have done this many time myself ,then i bought a psu tester
ill assume you mean you your internet runs slow ,did you just start using firefox recently or did you always use it .have you tried a different browser .like Googles Chrome browser
hi, teambviewer has a forum of there own .good luck
http://teamviewerforums.com/index.php?topic=1234.0
not sure if this will make any difference ,but try this .open the file . got file in the top toolbar and go save as ,and change the "save as type" to a word doc.good luck
your welcome .good luck
i have loosened a few by just simply peeling back the little round sticker on the center of the fan and using a 3in1 type oil,no need to take it apart ,for me in some cases anyway
Only Mods can close threads and it generally against Daniwebs policy to do so, so please stop asking for threads to be closed.
most other forums i go on its also the work of mods to move poster who hijack these old post ,and move them to a thread of there own in the correct category ,we must need more mods!
2 yr old threads,your being generous,lol
since a fan usually blows towards the cpu ,i don't it hurting what way the cooler faces.
as long as there is cool air coming in the front of the case to blow pass the cpu cooler it should be ok .
how to close the thread?
and what does closing the thread mean?
no one can post reply
or no one can find this thread?
people will still be able to see and reply to it [something I'd like to see changed ],it just means its been resolved,
yeah,as Bal said ,that was my reasoning too for the one at a time .
ok,now i understand ,don't see the direction making any difference in performance of the cooler
