The Dell driver worked. Thanks.
your welcome
installed a 512 agp card with nvida 6200 ,win7 loaded microsoft drivers ,seem to work ok ,i updated with nvida win7 drives ,seem to work ok, shut down computer ,next time i turned it on it had issues and did a system restore ,so im now using microsoft drivers again ,will try it for a few days and update again to see what happens
yeah ,firefox can be funny like that
Yes, that was the first thing that I tried before resorting to ATI or even third party sources. When I try to download the driver, it instead forces me to install a "Dell Driver Download Manager". Once that's done, it instructs me to add the drivers that I want to my list, which I have done, BUT it won't recognize that they are there, and I've yet to find a work around on that site. Could it be that the download manager is not liking 7 for some reason? Is there another source for that particular driver?
i chose vista as os ,go to the video link at the bottom open it and click on download for ati driver and it gave me an option download mager or download with browser ,so i chose browser over download manager and it downloaded for me
i get a virus on my computer when i try to install a new antivirus he just shut down
how do you tell if a computer is aHe!
hi check the virus /spyware and othere nasties section of this fourm fo help with viruses click link below ,read top sticky notes first good luck .

hi Dell site for your model laptop shows lates driver for Vista 32 bit as 5/21/07 - 8.36-070314a have you tried that
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WLH&catid=-1&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400%2FE1505&hidos=WW1&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False
Related question...I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 which I found has a Mobility Radeon™ X1300 video card (based on the service tag). According to every source that I've found on the matter, including the Dell and Windows 7 websites themselves, the 1XXX series is no longer supported, including for Windows 7. So, my question is...Will there likely be a driver released to enable full compatibility with Windows 7 at some point in the near future by an independent source (or, for some reason, Dell or Microsoft), or am I just going to have to live with the crappy resolution that I have to deal with right now?
As a side note, I also found that some Vista drivers are said to be fully compatible with Windows 7, but I have the most recent version for my adapter. That must be for supported adapters, though, right?
Thanks for your help.
so you have the latest vista driver install on win7 ,correct ,did you right click on the desktop ,chose screen resolution/advanced settings/monitor ,check the refresh rate ,what is it showing ,maybe it need to be adjusted up or down
windows 7 amazing but I'm not able to find drivers for it
drivers for what devices ,if the device has a win Vista driver listed for it that should work in win7
Windows 7 is faster than Vista and its proven.
for detailed info: http://windows7.iyogi.net/
for sure but that was not the question in this thread
i have broplem whith my laptob windows SE and i want to change the languwich
you just did .lol
in control panel ,go to date and time and reginonal and language settings
Though so. vivek01anand did not mention his registry when he said what all he had done and I do know the registry can influence the speed that programs open, which was his complaint. You keep your reg clean so it would not make a difference.
ok, now i get what you were getting at ,you are correct indeed
Hi, i cant imagin how one would be faster than the other ,as in my opinion what on the page you are going to detemines howe fast it loads .
and i don't under stand your not lining tabs as it was one of the biggest reasons people like and made the swithc to Firefox ,maybe just a miss use of the scroll[ to scroll is to move page from top to bottom or left to right ] on your part but you can quickly go from page to page by simply clicking on the tap across the top of the page in the toolbar
Have you run any other reg cleaner before it?
sure ,before and after ,i usually just use ccleaner for registry ,and ATF cleaner for removing temp files,
Hi caperjack. Try this address for Radeon 9200 vista drivers.
http://www.bioticaindia.com/radeon-9200-vista-drivers.html
Hope it helps.
thanks, but from what i see when i click onit it wants me to buy the driver .i will wait and buy new comp and video card
Download Advanced windows care for IOBit
www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html
It will clean the registry, spyware and temp files on your pc. Should increase the speed. If the registry is bloated it will slow down your pc.
,i installand ran this program and all though it cleans well it helped none in the speed of my computer ,thank you
I am having problems during installization in my PC while i install window 7.
It is very much difficult to having problem during installization .
Isn't there is easy way to install window 7 .
hi,,first you didn't even tell us what problems you were having .
easiest way it to put the win7 disk in the cdrom drive and boot computer and follow on screen prompts
your a ahucker allright
you first need to make sure you ystem is ready fior it,compatible with your hardware .my suggestion is it best to buy new system with win7 on it,unless you system is reletively new and is Vista compatible

i would contact dell they might know
I got win 7 the same way.
Probably because the computer is so old, you will need at least windows vista drivers. I found that out.

hi,no standard vga graphics is what vista is using ,you need to find out what video adaper you have and install the drivers for it.
go to deel.com and use you service tag #,should be on you computer case somewhere ,you should find video controller drivers that way

I have a Compaq Presario v2000, sn CNF55116NW , Model EP378UA#ABA. My AC adapter connector end, the end that connects to the PC, melted the yellow insert in the connector. I noticed that I can run the laptop with the battery out and the AC plugged in and there is very little heat. However if I put the battery back in and it begins to charge after about 15 or 20% of charging the end gets hot and after about 40 or 50% the end is extremely hot. I know that when the PC is in use and if the battery is charging and the PC is being used the AC adapter will heat up but to have the connector end to melt the yellow insert appears to be way too hot. When the battery reached full charge the connector cooled off but when I pulled the connector end out of the PC it was stuck, hence the melted insert. The battery ran the PC OK and the charge dissipated about 15% in about 20 to 25 minutes. Could my battery be bad or is it the motherboard?
Thanks Stan
hi, i also have a Compaq Presario v2000 and earlier this year it did the same thing ,actually it was my daughter who used the laptop at university ,and she used to jam the back of the laptop where the plug is against the back of her desk and she broke the power jack away from the motherboard ,so …
sorry for the double post but I forgot to add that my backspace button on my keyboard doesn't work either, I have NO idea if that is anything to do with anything but still
