All browsers are relatively fast no one would bother to time the speed of the browser to load facebook page. Google Chrome is able to open more tabs than any other browser.Firefox crash easily when there are too many tabs. But firefox is more secure than chrome, chrome has glitches in its private browsing mode. Opera is special. Just ask Crunchie for that. IE is a classic and many people are used to using that browser for a long time.

The links provided by flagstar is correct but most senior posters helping out in the IT Professionals Lounge will just down rep you and give comments that are not helpful to you. What they think is that students should pay more attention in class and not go to forums to ask for help about their project. So best not to post there. The networking forum should be the place you are looking for. Posters are willing to help you unless you have what in mind what to do.

The project title is the thing you must choose yourself. And halfway through the project you have problem, we can help you. So the decisions is yours. After that, we might be able to help you along the way by giving hints on what to do next or what to take note for your project. All the best!

Tip: It depends on what amount of effort you want to put it. Big projects may be better but it will not be easy. Know what you are capable of and work hard and success is yours.

I think your file is seriously corrupted since other media files are able to rename, right? If that is the case, there is no way to repair it unless there are some software or help there on the internet that is able to help you but rare to find.

You can create a new folder and move the emails there. Or you can also change the settings so that whenever daniweb email are sent to you, it will skip the inbox and spam folder but go into the daniweb folder. What email account service are you using?

You share the same point as me DarthBaggins. That is why i don't see a point to upgrade to Lion when Snow Leopard is already good enough. Its not about the money thing but who wants a new OS that has totaly nothing to impress you and take out about 4 GB of your disk space. I am a fan of Apple products but this time they have dissapoint me with the Lion OSX.

A graphics card can always be purchase at any computer repair shop or computer score. If you are inexperience with installing it, i suggest you ask an expert to help you. Maybe the person who sell you the graphic card will be kind enought to do that.

Have you try using another earpiece to test whether you can hear any sound. Just to clarify, is it the audio port that is causing the sound problem? If it is, go to your device manager and see if there is any problem with your sound driver. If there is a problem, there will be a yellow exclamation mark or red X beside the driver name.

I'm debugging websites, so I can give you some advice. Visit http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/index.php. There you can render websites with old versions of the IE from any browser. As the output is an image it should (!) also word on an iPad.

What sDJh said is correct. Visual Basic does not work on Mac or should i say there is not one for Mac. The only way to get Visual Basci to work on your Macbook is to install windows on it too.

Since you have a japan vistor, it is most likely that the laptop will be in japanese. Ask the vistor whether she can change the language to english first ( if it is not in english ). After that is done, i will give you more help. For the time being, you can try thse steps.

1) Make sure the wireless switch on the laptop is turn on at the side of the laptop
2) Make sure no firewall or other security software is blocking the connections. Don't disable the firewall, just change the settings so the user can connect to internet.

Can the japanese visitor connect to other network. If no that means the problem lies with his/her laptop if yes that means the network is having problem itself.

Lion actually is not that cool after you use it for a few days later and own an ipad2 at the same time. Snow leopard is still the best operating system for me. The only good thing about the lion is that it has airdrop. Makes mac users easier to send files, the lauchpad and mission control are just crap software.

CAn you start your computer. How many problems do you have? From your post above it seems like there is nothing display on your computer and your computers keep restarting. Clean and reseat the heat sink. Can you hear your any fan sound?

1) Reseat everything in your PC/ laptop.

2) Is there any beep codes. That way it can help to identify the problem more easily.

3) Check your PSU. Is there a power supply?

Go to device manger and check whether there are any yellow exclamation or red X there. If there is uninstall and install the latest driver again. Why in the first place will your screen resolution change? If reinstalling the drivers won't work, take another graphic card ( if you have want ) and try it on your laptop. See whether that works. If yes, do what Adam K said. Buy a new graphics card. Try doing a scan with malwarebytes too

Second thing, try not to use P2P sharing that often. Your computer will be vulnerabe to hackers and virus. Just a note.

Like what Flagstar said above. Overheating could well be the problem. Just asking can you charge your laptop or are you using a PC?

How about the rest. Maybe that one could not be uninstalled.

Have you update it. You can download the latest driver from the manufacturer websites. There should not be that much audio driver like what flagstar have said. What do you mean by " I tried uninstalling one then it just installed it again.

What you say about your last sentence is true. Mostely likely when your PC shut down for no apparent reason, it may be an overheating issue. Good to see you coming back to daniweb, smalls.

Try doing a scan with malware bytes. Here . How old is your PC and what model brand are you using? Does booting up in safe mode has this problem?
