Do a scan with Malware Bytes first. Use the free version
Export your bookmarks out of Firefox if you cannot even use firefox use another browser to help you. Use Chrome or Internet Explorer and import firefox bookmarks and data.

After you successfully install the driver, go to device manager and see whether it is there or not? Red x means the driver is disable, you can enable it again. Yellow exclamation mark mean there is a problem with the driver, you have to reinstall it again. Tell me can you find your driver under device manager? See this link
This problem happens to Vista also. Are you using Windows Xp? How many mb of data does the admin account and guest account have? Does this problem happens when you are in safe mode?

Some people prefer cloning while others prefer imaging it all depends. If you want to save programs cloning would be a better choice. If you want files and folder, imaging would suit you. I do not dislike or stellar products. There is one products i use called Stellar Phoenix. It is a software to recover data, deleted data or lost data. I used it but instead of recovering data, it deleted some of my files. It did not recover a single file from the trash but deleted 3 folders on my desktop. I have to use Diskdrill another mac recovery tool to recover it, but only some recover. At the end i use time machine and restore everything back to normal.
From then on, i start hating Stella Phoenix, I think is just a crappy piece of recovery tool. But not all Stellar Products are bad. I love some of them too. The only stellar product i hate is the one i mention above. Crappy piece of software

Good to hear your problem is solved. Lol, i should have thought of that but i take your problem as an advanced and serious one. DNS is shortform for Domain Name System. Its a basic way how computer share data with one another on the internet or in private networks. Look at the picture i got from the internet maybe that will help you out.
Can you tell us why your computer crash. If it crash it can due to a harddisk failure and crash or a virus problem. The virus might have cause the internet problem too. Tell us how your laptop crash, maybe we can fix it.
Can be a malware like Jakob said or a trojan. The symptoms you stated sounds very much alike to a trojan. Trojan will move files into random locations and create duplicated files. Run malware bytes. Here is the link. Did anything happen to yout computer like slow start up, frequently freezing or others.
