The wifi switch is always located at the side of your laptop try looking for it. The wireless switch is not your airport. you need to turn on the wireless switch to turn on the airport and connect to the internet.

The original poster now wants a software to detect his hard drive. His external hard disk is now not reformatted, but when the hard disk is plug into a laptop, it cannot be detected. The laptop keep on asking him to reformat the disk because the disk is having problems. Maybe due to hard disk crash or corrupted files, any softwares to recommend to solve this. Like making it detectable by the computer.

Your Google Account is the same as your Youtube Account if you never change. You ca try using your Google Account and retrieve your password.

It's a cheap trick to scam people. Hotmail does not need to verify people account, their database already have your account user name and password so why do they still sent you this crap. Obviously a scam. This make be the very first, soon more of this will be send to other hotmail users.

I don't think you have much choice left but to reformat it and later use a software to try and recover most of your data. i will ask some senior and expert daniweb posters better than me to try to help you first, reformat the hard disk is the last option so you wait for a few more days first

Good info but always shutting down too fast will spoil your computer hard disk, occasionaly if you are busy is fine do it daily your computer life will be shorten so maybe after a few months or a year later your laptop will spoil.

Upgrade your browser to IE9 on Windows Xp and do a virus scan. The problem could have cause by IE8

What you can do first

1) See whether page open by IE8 are having the problem
2) Clear your browsing data, include your history, cookies and cache. Don't clear the bookmarks if you want to keep it
3) Reset Internet Exploter Settings to default
4) Disable your adds on for the time being

it is a bad website so blackplanet will load slow, no doubt about it

Do you mean a thumbail view? You can try this. First right click on a folder and select propeties and select enable thumnail views. You can try around using propeties and see whether which option works.

Maybe there is some setting for the shield like Gerbil said. YOu can add a trusted software or process. It has been quite some time i last you Avast, I now using Microsoft Security Essentials.

Well, I use Opera on my laptop and it often crash when i have too many tabs. Around 10 or 12. And the problem usually occurs after i quickly toggle between tabs.

Opera rocks. Opera is pretty much use for faster browsing. It is lightweight thus faster than other browsers like chrome and firefox and internet explorer. But it does not have much features at the above three browsers. It is only use to search the web fast, if you open a lot of tab using opera it will crash very often. If you want browser that do not want to take up to many space you can always search the net for it. There are a lot out there but they lack good features to keep your laptop safe.

Do you want what Jakob said or something else. You said you wanted to find pdf files very quickly, but you cannot do so now after upgrading your OS. Can you see the pdf sign on the file. For example word document, you will see the word sign on the front of the document, thus you will immediately recognizes it. Is that what you want?

Why are you using that to take screenshot. Do you want to take screenshot of the web page or other things. If you just want to take picture of the web page you could use another method. I am not sure what you are doing? Can you explain to me first? Thanks

How long has this problem occur? It seems like can be something wrong with the driver like JaKob have said or something wrong with his wi fi card. Maybe it needed to be reinstall again. What websites he usually access when the router crash, beside the game.

You get it wrong. Websites that allow you to download movie for free is considered Piracy. Netflix is different, you have to pay for the movie you watch.

Try connecting using to another network to make sure nothing is wrong with your network. There are some questions i need to know.
