Make sure your power cord is not loose and plug it nicely. What have you been doing with your laptops like downloading stuffs or gaming. Tell us everything and what apps or files you have recently downloaded. When has this problem started to occur, we always know posters like to post their problems after a few weeks the problem have occured. Have you re assemble any parts recentl. It might be a faulty mother board problem.

You mean when you edit the file but you can't save it because you do not have the permission. Change the adminstraor settigns and make yourself become the admin, if you had reformat your laptop, and create a new account, that new account already have admin rights and root user. Root user allow yourself to change file permission so other accounts on your laptop cannot edit the file. Have you restored the file properly, file not resore properly don't allow you to edit them. Tell me the steps you have done so far and what methods have you use so i can provide you with other methods. Did i confuse you?

You can try using malare bytes and scan for malware first if yes detect and removed them. You can download it to malware bytes to another computer put it into a thumb drive and plug it into your infected laptop. If it fails, try backing up your data by any means, if you had already done regularly backups, you can reinstall your laptop using the disc, just like what predator78 had said. Try a repair first, reformat is the last option.

What flagstar said is true. If you have no internet, yuo can purchase a modem and router and you can connect to the internet then you can set up your windows laptop/PC.

Firefox and other browser also have the option to disable pop ups. Are you referring to the top of your browser and when you visit a site, something will pop up. Maybe yellow in colour for firefox browesr, if yes you can go to the preference and disable it. Just click on command , to go to your browser preference. If you are not regular on daniweb you won't have a lot of activity points. If you log in to daniweb maybe once a week your activity point will not be very high compare to login in every day and post. Take me for example. Also it depend on what year you will join. If you join in 2003, and have not been back to daniweb for 7 years, your activity point will be very less like what AD said, the activity point stuff started last year. I think what i said is confusing, do yo think so?

Check your event viewer. You might also have a lot of useless files on your computer and your computer might take a long time to look through them before you can use your computer. Try deleting the useless files and do a scan

Use iantivurs. It is the best and mac do have virus and trojans but rare now, common in the future. Future maybe referring to a few months time better prepare now and be safe or be sorry later. GO to iantivirus website. . Use the free version is enough to keep your mac safe, update the virus definition regularly

That is not actually the correct way of doing. Dogsbody, i am using snow leopard too and i think i know what you did wrong. Follow my clear instructions.

1) Open up Mail app
2) On the top of the window, you will see file, edit and others. Click on view and scroll down and click on customise toolbar. NExt when you open that up, find long hearder after you find that right click it and click on add toolbar. Next click done
3) Go to your inbox and select a mail, don't open it. After you select a mail click on long header at the top left hand corner and you will see all the details you want

There are many softwares that can reveal hidden files. Houdini is one of them.

Your laptop will have a lot of cache, cookies or other stuffs. Try going online and download a free cleaning up software that helps you clean your laptop and unwanted files will be delted. Unwanted or useless files refer to those files that are taking extra space on your laptop. They use a lot of memory space and your laptop will operate very slow. Follow predator advise and go and clean your hard disk to see whether there is any extra space

I have not heard of VPN connecting to internet. Basically VPN is for a small group of people and you can allow certain people to enter you network, you cannot connect to the internet.Try going to wikipedia for more information. An IP trakcer would also be good if you want one. Not really neccessary, IP Tracker track the IP address of your hacker. So you know where he stay and can knock on his house doors. First why would the hacker want to do that and what is his motive, second if you have awesome anti virus they can detect keylogger and you can trace whether the keylogger belong to you.
