Microsoft Outlook XP 2002 or 2003 user? There's a program called Outsource-XP which is great to backup all of your Outlook information. It backs up your emails, settings, email accounts, templates, address book, etc. - just about everything you would use Outlook for! It's a really cool program if you …

Re: I would start with www.phpbb.com. But if you plan on doing anything serious with the forum, I definitely recommend investing the one-time $160 into vBulletin. Also check out the "Premade Scripts" forum. :)
Re: I am a strong believer of constructive criticism. I believe that some criticism and negative comments towards the musician or his music may make the forum a more "honest" place to be where people can give their honest thoughts and opinions. On the other hand, it should also be heavily …
I just got word that Google bought Urchin, our favorite Apache log analyzer. Does anyone have any details about this?
Re: No, of course not :) You pay per click to your site. The maximum is just relative to the most number of visits you will allow Google to send to you. So once (if) you reach your daily maximum of clicks, your ad will stop showing until the next day.
Re: What is the exact error message? A popup window just saying NO? Windows comes with Windows Messenger while MSN comes with MSN Messenger. Do you think that it's necessary for a forum to require a user to click a link sent to them via email upon registration? Personally I think it totally gets in the way and is obnoxious. There were quite a few forums that I wanted to post on, realized I …
Re: I'm definitely guilty of being impatient as well ;) The weekends are torturous for me because they are when I have the most time to implement changes, and yet I always have to wait until Monday to see if they are effective!
Re: It seems to me that you're looking for somewhere to store some public files over the web. Right? I don't know of any offhand because doing this eats the server bandwidth, so it really isn't in anyone's best interest to give away precious bandwidth for free :) You may be …
I'm having a hard time trying to syndicate my blogs. I want to create an RSS feed via PHP. So far, I have it running through all of the entries and spitting out <title> <link> <description> <time>. My problem is with the header. How do you declare those first few …
I was told that a very good way to get the word out about a site and get everyone talking is to get in good w/ blogging sites. Apparently people like to link in their blogs, and it could get people talking. How could I go about doing this though? …

Re: Sites like those are designed in Photoshop, and then sliced up into tables and multiple images using Photoshop's slicing tools. After that, it's just a matter of fine-tuning the design with CSS - the general table layout is done by Photoshop.

Re: I'm confused. Maybe it's because I don't really read the paper, but I've never heard of RFID tags?
Don't get scared if your site suddenly has no PR anymore. It appears that the PR value in the Google toolbar isn't working for a whole bunch of folks. Wonder if we're getting an update soon or if this is just some server downtime. - Dani out
Re: Sorry, but I used to be with CI Host, and I can tell you that their network is really bad. Continuous downtime. It's really terrible. :-/
I'm currently using phpMyAdmin with Plesk 7.5. Well first of all there's the known problem with the CSS not working, but that's besides the point. My question is actually whether it's possible to access phpMyAdmin directly through some URL instead of first logging into Plesk and then navigating all the …
Re: I think FuseTalk is coldfusion only. It's used mainly by huge enterprise-level forums. I THINK anyways. I might have it confused with something else.
Creating Executables Of course, the software on your computer isn't all a bunch of code in a high level language, at least not in the form you receive it in. Before you can run any programs which are written in C++ or Java, they must be compiled. Compiling is the …
Re: Content means the discussions in the forum. It means the wealth of information. It can mean tutorials that are written. This is compared to a non-content-based site such as an e-commerce site that isn't an informational resource.

Re: I can't offer much assistance as far as the vBulletin community is concerned, but I can say that vB is an excellent choice. It powers this forum, and my PHP knowledge along with how extensible the code is, has allowed me to build blogs, a code snippet section, tutorials, a …

Re: Fantastico is actually VPS software, to the best of my knowledge. I think what would make more sense is maybe cPanel or Plesk coming with one-click install forum software?
Re: If you guys who frequent the forum think that there are enough C questions posted to warrant their own forum, I have no problems with it. But please ensure that this would be a smart move - I agree with Julienne about the cross-posting and the people who aren't going … ![]()
